Sayre coach Scotty Sutton started the following lineup: 6-0 Fr. Maddie Mitchell, 5-9 Sr. Bea Cameron, 6-3 8th grader Gabby Bowie, 5-7 Jr. Emily Culbertson, and 5-5 Sr. Sophie O’Rourke. Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-11 Fr. Tereka Guyn, 5-10 Sr. Kristen Stainback, 5-10 Sr. Alex McKenzie, 5-7 Sr. Shauntae Jackson, and 5-6 Fr. Audriana Christopher.
Scott County scored 52 points off 43 Sayre turnovers in a 76-34 victory. Scott County raced out to a 41-13 halftime lead . Scott County shot 42.9% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and held a 26-0 margin in bench scoring. Sayre shot 28.2% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc. The Lady Spartans connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.
Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 24 points and eight steals. Stainback was 10 of 15 from the field including two of four from the three point line and two of four from the free throw line. Tereka Guyn added 10 points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Gabby Bowie led Sayre with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Maddie Mitchell added 10 points and Bea Cameron chipped in with six points, eight rebounds, and six steals.
