Fatah Leader: Abbas Will Destroy Israel in Stages
From Iris.org.il to my email in box to you.

Fatah Leader: Abbas Will Destroy Israel in Stages

Senior Fatah (PLO) leaders continue to endorse the Phased Plan for the destruction of Israel, while all of the authorities see no evil:

Fatah Member: Abbas Recognition of Israel Political

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ stated recognition of Israel’s right to exist is part of a “political calculation” aimed at ultimately destroying the Jewish state, a terror group leader and member of Abbas’ Fatah party told WND in an interview.

The leader said the Fatah party does not recognize Israel and that any final accord that doesn’t include flooding the Jewish state with millions of Palestinians will not be supported by the Fatah party and will lead to Palestinian civil war.

“The base of our Fatah movement keeps dreaming of Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa and Akko,” said Abu Ahmed, Fatah member and leader of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades in the northern Gaza Strip. “There is no change in our position. Abbas recognizes Israel because of pressure that the Zionists and the Americans are exercising on him. We understand this is part of his obligations and political calculations.”

Dirty Bombs: Weapons of Mass Disruption

By Fred Burton

Since the 9/11 attacks catapulted al Qaeda to
the top of the evil-doers' list in the United States, one constant question
has remained: What is al Qaeda planning now? High among the public's fears,
fanned by certain events widely reported in the media, is that the jihadist
network or another like-minded group or individual will unleash a
radiological dispersion device (RDD), commonly referred to as a "dirty bomb,"
on U.S. soil.

Among the events that heightened this public interest in
RDDs early on was the intense media coverage of the May 2002 apprehension of
so-called al Qaeda "dirty bomber " Jose Padilla.

Since 9/11, the public awareness of RDDs -- and interest in
attacks that might utilize them -- has ebbed and flowed in cycles that often,
though not always, are initiated by incidents or statements that get a great
deal of media coverage. After the initial excitement dies down, the awareness
and concern gradually falls -- until the next incident.

We now find ourselves in one of those periods of heightened awareness, this one spurred
by Internet rumors of al Qaeda operatives and materials coming into the
United States via Mexican smuggling routes for the purpose of creating an "American Hiroshima."

Meanwhile, an audio statement was released Sept. 28 by al
Qaeda leader in Iraq Abu Hamza al-Muhajer,

who called for scientists to join his group's efforts
against U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq, advising them that the large U.S.
bases there are good places to "test your unconventional weapons, whether
chemical or 'dirty' as they call them."

Considering the ease with
which an RDD can be manufactured, it is only a matter of time before one is
employed. In fact, it is quite surprising that one has not been successfully
used already. Certainly, the time is ripe to discuss what RDDs are and are
not -- and to consider the mostly likely results of such an attack.

Dirty Bombs are RDDs

An RDD, simply, is a device that
disperses radiation. Depending on the motives of those involved in planning
the incident, such a device could be a low-key weapon that surreptitiously
releases aerosolized radioactive material, dumps out a finely powdered
radioactive material or dissolves the radioactive material into water. It
would be intended to slowly expose as many people as possible to the
radiation. However, unless large amounts of a very strong radioactive
material are used, the effects of such an exposure are more likely to be
long-term rather than sudden and dramatic: people dying of cancer rather than
acute radiation poisoning.

By its very nature, however, this kind of
RDD will not generate immediate panic or the type of press coverage coveted
by most terrorists. Therefore, they more likely will opt for a RDD that
delivers a more "spectacular" punch -- a dirty bomb, in other words. The
opposite of a surreptitious device, a dirty bomb is intended to immediately
cause panic and mass hysteria.

A dirty bomb is simply a RDD made of a
traditional improvised explosive device (IED) with a radiological "kicker"
added. In a dirty bomb attack, radioactive material not only is dispersed,
but the dispersal is accomplished in an obvious manner, and the explosion
immediately alerts the victims and authorities that an attack has taken
place. The attackers hope notice of their attack will cause mass panic.

Effects of a Dirty Bomb

Perhaps the biggest
misconception about dirty bombs -- and there are many -- has to do with their
effects. Although radioactive material is utilized in constructing them, they
are not nuclear or atomic weapons. They do not produce a nuclear chain
reaction and, therefore, the employment of such a device will not produce an
"American Hiroshima." In fact, there can be a wide range of effects produced
by a dirty bomb depending on the size of the IED and the amount and type of
radioactive material involved. Environmental factors such as terrain, weather
conditions and population density would also play an important role in
determining the effects of such a device.

Generally, a dirty bomb
that uses a large quantity of highly dangerous radioactive material such as
plutonium-238 or cesium-137 will produce more (and stronger) contamination
than a device that uses less material or material that is not as radioactive.
However, the most highly radioactive materials are the hardest to obtain and
the most difficult to work with. Some materials are so dangerous that even
suicide bombers would die before they could use one if they were not properly
shielded. For example, in September 1999, two Chechen militants who attempted
to steal highly radioactive materials from a chemical plant in the Chechen
capital of Grozny were incapacitated after carrying the container for only a
few minutes each; one reportedly died.

There are, however, many
more-common, less-dangerous materials, such as americium-241 or strontium-90,
that would be easier to obtain and work with. It is therefore widely believed
that terrorists wanting to construct a dirty bomb would be more likely to use
one of them.

According to experts from organizations such as the
National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements, unless a large
quantity of a very highly radioactive material is used, not many people will
be immediately killed by the radiation released by a dirty bomb. Rather, the
initial casualties will be a result of the explosive effects of the IED, just
as they would be in a conventional IED attack without a radiological
component. While exposure to very strong sources of radiation at close range
could cause fatalities, a dirty bomb by design disperses its radiation over a
larger area. Therefore, most of the deaths caused by the radiation in a dirty
bomb will most likely be from causes like cancer that will take years to
develop. Most people who quickly leave the area contaminated by the dirty
bomb will have minimum exposure to radioactivity and should not suffer
permanent health consequences.

Keep in mind, however, that a dirty
bomb is intended to cause a panic -- and the explosion of such a device in a
heavily populated urban area could very well result in a panic that could
kill more people than the IED or the radiation it disperses.

It
should also be noted that the radiological effects of a dirty bomb will be
larger than the killing radius of the IED itself, and will persist for far
longer. The explosion from a conventional IED is over in an instant, but
radiation from a RDD can persist for decades. While the radiation level may
not be strong enough to affect people who are exposed briefly in the initial
explosion, the radiation will persist in the contaminated area and the
cumulative effects of such radiation could prove very hazardous. (Here again,
the area contaminated will depend on the type and quantity of the radioactive
material used. Materials in a fine powdered form are easier to disperse than
solid blocks of material and some radioactive materials possess a far longer
half-life than others.) Due to this contamination, it will be necessary to
evacuate people from the contaminated area in many, if not most, cases
involving a dirty bomb. People will need to stay out of the area until it can
be decontaminated, a process that can be lengthy and expensive.

Therefore, while a dirty bomb is not truly a weapon of mass
destruction (WMD) like a nuclear device, many authorities refer to them as
"weapons of mass disruption" or "weapons of mass dislocation" because of the
fact that they temporarily render the contaminated areas uninhabitable. The
vast expense of decontaminating a large, densely populated area, such as a
section of Manhattan or Washington, would also make a dirty bomb a type of
economic weapon.

The Actors

Due to the ease of
constructing a dirty bomb -- which is really just an IED plus a source of
radioactivity -- such a device could be employed by almost any terrorist
actor ranging from a "lone-wolf" domestic terrorist to a transnational
militant organization such as al Qaeda. However, when considering that the
effects of such a device are more likely to be symbolic and economic, the
equation begins to shift toward the al Qaeda side, as symbolic targets that
harm the U.S. economy are dead in the center of the jihadist network's
targeting sweet spot. Al Qaeda also has a history of planning to use such
weapons.

In his recent statements about using dirty bombs against
U.S. bases in Iraq, al-Muhajer did not present a novel idea. Many in the
jihadist universe have a strong fascination with WMDs, and many jihadist Web
sites, such as chat rooms and online magazines, regularly post information on
how to produce chemical agents, biological toxins, RDDs and even improvised
nuclear weapons. Some posts provide instructions on where to obtain
radioactive material and, in cases where it cannot be obtained, even purport
to provide instruction on how to extract radioactive material from commercial
materials, such as distilling radium from luminescent industrial paint.

More specifically to al Qaeda, evidence uncovered in Afghanistan
following the U.S. invasion demonstrated that the group was actively pursuing
a WMD program that included research on chemical, biological, nuclear and
radiological weapons. Based on this evidence, and information obtained from
the interrogations of captured high-level al Qaeda members, U.S. intelligence
agencies have specifically and repeatedly warned since late 2001 that al
Qaeda intends to produce and employ a RDD. When these reports surface, the
flow cycle of public concern over RDDs begins anew.

Despite the
simplicity of manufacturing dirty bombs, however, they are not often used,
possibly due at least in part to their ineffectiveness. Governments such as
that of Iraq that experimented with dirty bombs for military purposes
abandoned them because they were not effective enough to be militarily
significant as a weapon or provide much of a deterrent.

Perhaps the
group that has used or attempted to use RDDs the most is the Chechen
militants. In November 1995, Chechen militants under commander Shamil Basayev

placed a small quantity of cesium-137 in Moscow's Izmailovsky
Park. Rather than disperse the material, however, the Chechens used the
material as a psychological weapon by directing a television news crew to the
location and thus creating a media storm. The material in this incident was
thought to have been obtained from a nuclear waste or isotope storage
facility in Grozny.

In December 1998, the pro-Russian Chechen
Security Service announced it had found a dirty bomb consisting of a land
mine combined with radioactive materials next to a railway line. It is
believed that Chechen militants planted the device.

The Bottom
Line

Analytically, based upon the ease of manufacture and the
jihadist interest in dirty bombs, it is only a matter of time before
jihadists employ one. Since the contamination created by such a device can be
long-lasting, more rational international actors probably would prefer to
detonate such a device against a target that is outside of their own country.
In other words, they would lean toward attacking a target within the United
States or United Kingdom rather than the U.S. or British Embassy in their
home country.

Since it is not likely to produce mass casualties, a
dirty bomb attack would likely be directed against a highly symbolic target,
such as one representing the economy or government, and designed to cause the
maximum amount of disruption at the target site. Therefore, it is not out of
the question to imagine such an attack aimed at Wall Street or the Pentagon.
The bomb would not destroy these sites, but would deny access to them for as
long as it takes to clean up the sites.

Due to the history of RDD
threats, the U.S. government has invested a great deal of money in radiation
detection equipment, and has strategically located that equipment along the
border at ports of entry and near critical sites. If the rumors of
radioactive materials being smuggled over the Mexican border are true, the
terrorists would want to detonate the device in a city close to the border
out of fear that this network of detection systems would allow the material
to be detected and seized by U.S. authorities before it could be employed.

The Importance of Contingency Plans

The possibility of an RDD attack underscores the importance of having personal contingency plans.

This is especially important for those who live or
work near one of these potential targets. In the case of a dirty bomb attack,
it will be important to stay calm. Panic, as we have said, could potentially
kill more people than the dirty bomb itself. The best countermeasure against
irrational panic is education. People who understand the capabilities and
limitations of dirty bombs are less likely to panic than those who do not.

People caught in close proximity to the detonation site, then, should
avoid breathing in the dust as much as possible and then calmly leave the
area, paying attention to the instructions given to them by authorities. If
possible, they also should bathe and change clothes as soon as possible, and
implement their personal or family emergency plan. People not in the
immediate vicinity of the dirty bomb should seek shelter where they are --
making sure to close windows and doors and turn off air conditioners --
unless they are instructed to go elsewhere.

However, should
communication from the authorities break down or the authorities not provide
instruction, the three most important things to remember about protecting
oneself from radiation are time, distance and shielding. That means
minimizing the time of exposure, maximizing the distance between the person
and the radiation source and maximizing the amount of shielding between the
person and the radiation source.

Let's Kill All The Lawyers.
Henry VI, part 2 | Act 4, Scene 2

The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.

That statement may sound extreme, but after reading the following I did yearn for an honest hempen noose.

'Tis better to have loft and lost...

Via Volokh (where commenters have a lot to say, and are about to start arguing about coffee), humorist and California judge William Bedsworth comments on the New Jersey college-student-falls-out-of-bed-loft case we covered August 16:

Tragically, "There were no warning labels on the bed, and it had never a€˜cross[ed his] mind™ or a˜occurred toa™ plaintiff that he could fall or that the bed was dangerous in any way. He testified that had he seen a warning, he would have been a€˜aware of the hazard that was present™ and slept closer to the wall, as he had done after the accident. Honest. Says so right in the opinion.

And he had an expert, George Widas, who testified that industry standards in the bed-making industry require that the manufacturer affix a warning a€œthat says make sure that you protect yourself from this fall hazard.a€ According to Widas, the warning label should have had a€œblack letters on an orange backgrounda€ and included a warning that both identified the hazard and explained how to avoid it.

So the label should have said -- in Day-Glo green letters on a phosphorescent-pink background -” THIS IS A BED. USE ONLY WHILE AWAKE. Or perhaps a€œIF YOUR IQ IS NOT THIS TALL, YOU CANNOT RIDE ON THIS BED. Or how about an arrow pointing downward, with the legend FALLING IN THIS DIRECTION COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH. FALL ONLY UPWARD OR TO THE SIDE. ...

I ran across this article on a website called

Overlawyered Chronicling the high cost of our legal system

No truer words have yet to be written.

For the poor individual who needed a warning label to inform him that he might be injured if he fell off a bed?

I have only one word.

Vasectomy!

Please, PLEASE do not breed, improve the gene pool, by removing yourself.

News Blackout on Muslim Riots in France, Belgium & UK

There is currently "youth" rioting occurring in England and France, and there were three riot nights in Belgium last week, with barely a mention in the mainstream media. I have documented that the European term "youths" is a euphemism for "Muslim," but occasionally this fact is obvious given that the UK incident was centered around a mosque.

Didn't we see this Last Fall?

October surprise

An October surprise is American political jargon describing a stunning news event with the potential to influence the outcome of an election, particularly one for the presidency. It is so called because Election Day in the U.S. is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, and events shortly before the election have greater potential to swing votes. Most of the time, the term is used to label actions of a sitting president, especially with regard to military or foreign policy matters, but it can also apply to news stories unfavorable to the incumbent administration. "Historically, news outlets avoid investigative pieces critical of candidates within days of an election to avoid appearing partisan." [1] Particularly since the 1980 election, the term has been pre-emptively used to discredit late-campaign news by one side or the other.

If there were any doubts, about what month it is, they have certainly been removed.

It is October, we have an ontime delivery of an October Surprise, and it is a doozy.

It seem a Republican Congressman by the name of Foley has been a very bad boy indeed.

The first reports were of some emails, which strange as they sounded did not qualify as a smoking gun.

They could be taken as ominous or harmless, depending on what viewpoint one wished to take.

It is not hard to guess how those viewpoints lined up.

But then there appeared some very damaging Instant Messages.

They allowed for no misinterpretation, and as 20/20 Hindsight is always perfect, created a solitary view of the previous emails.

So Congressman Foley has resigned and at last reports is in an Alcohol Treatment Center.

That is no real surprise, the Instant Messages show evidence of diminished capacity, which is staggering/

The moral and ethical issue is damning enough but a position of National Responsibility should not be in the hands of a practicing alcoholic and certainly not in the hands of someone with such an abysmal sense of judgment.

In the general mudslinging that ensued, the meme has been broached that the Republican Leadership knew ALL of this and covered up for the Congressman.

Big Lizards has an excellent article Bearing False Witness showcasing the edited and slanted coverage of these incidents by the Mainstream Media.

If there were any doubts as to whether our Major Media is truly a source of neutral journalism, they are now dispelled.

I do not wish to diminish my total disgust for the actions of Congressman Foley. He has earned the consequences of his actions.

If indeed the Republican Leadership did know the full story and attempted a cover up, they too have earned the consequences of their own action.

There are other parties to this. These emails and instant messages did not suddenly manifest themselves out of the ether or jump forward in Time.

SOMEONE knew these details. SOMEONE waited until the perfect moment to optimize political damage.

Anyone one who sat on this information, and did not report it for partisan political gain, engaged in a coverup themselves of an equally venal nature to the actions of Congressman Foley.

Pelosi has called for a full investigation, including polygraph testing of the Republican Leadership,

I feel the actions of those who sprung this October Surprise deserve some public scrutiny as well.

Palestinian Civil War
There keeps being talk of Iraq being on the verge of Civil War.

Well it appears in the West Bank and the Gaza strip there is no verge.

Hamas-Fatah gunbattles cover Gaza
By Ibrahim Barzak
ASSOCIATED PRESS
October 2, 2006
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -- Gunbattles broke out across the Gaza Strip when heavily armed Hamas militiamen tried to break up anti-government demonstrations yesterday, killing seven persons and injuring dozens in the worst internal Palestinian violence since Hamas took power.
Militants from the opposition Fatah group retaliated by torching the Palestinian Cabinet building in the West Bank. The violence comes amid growing frustration over the parties' failure to form a national-unity government that could end crippling economic sanctions.
The fighting continued throughout the day and sent schoolchildren and other civilians in downtown Gaza City fleeing for cover.
"This is forbidden in Islam. We are in the holy month of Ramadan," said Majed Badawi, 33, who managed to escape after his car was caught in the crossfire. "It's a shame on Hamas, who call themselves real Muslims, and a shame on Fatah, as well. Why are they fighting and over what? We are victims because of both of them."
Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, of Hamas, spoke with President Mahmoud Abbas, of Fatah, by telephone and called for joint action to end the fighting, Mr. Haniyeh's office said. But in a televised speech, Mr. Haniyeh also defended the Hamas militiamen, saying they acted lawfully in trying to break up the protests.
Fatah officials blamed Hamas for the chaos. "Nothing can justify this violence," Fatah spokesman Tawfik Abu Khoussa said.
Hamas has been under pressure since its January election victory over the long-ruling Fatah.
Israel and the West, which view Hamas as a terror group, cut off hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and tax transfers to the Palestinian Authority, making it nearly impossible for the new government to pay its 165,000 workers.
In recent weeks, civil servants -- including members of the security forces, many of them Fatah loyalists -- have held expanding protests against the Hamas-led government to demand back wages.
On Saturday, the Hamas government sent its 3,500-member militia into Gaza's streets to quash the protests.
The fighting started in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, where dozens of police gathered to demand back wages, protesters said. The Hamas militiamen ordered them to disperse, then opened fire at the protesters, who responded by shooting in the air, protesters said.
Fighting then broke out between militia members and security officials in northern Gaza, and violence spread to the parliament building in Gaza City, where security officers and civil servants were protesting. The protesters threw stones at Hamas militiamen, who eventually fired on the protesters, according to a reporter at the scene.
Militiamen and security personnel -- including bodyguards for Mr. Abbas -- began trading fire nearby. People scattered, and children covered their heads with their schoolbags for protection.
The clashes later spilled over to an area near the president's residence.
The street battles killed four persons, including a presidential bodyguard and a 15-year-old boy, said Dr. Baker Abu Safia, director of Gaza's Shifa Hospital. Two others were killed in related violence, and at least 75 were injured, hospital officials said.
A seventh person, a member of the preventive security force, was killed Saturday night when unknown gunmen shot at the car he was in, security officials said.
In response to the violence, Fatah protesters in the West Bank city of Ramallah broke into the Cabinet building and set the second floor on fire. A second building in the compound also was set ablaze.
Forced out by the fire, the militants moved to the Education Ministry and torched a car on the way. They then trashed the offices of a Hamas newspaper.
In the West Bank city of Hebron, Fatah-allied militants ransacked the offices of local Hamas lawmakers and set the furniture on fire.

Ramadan Rioting in Brussels

I don't recall hearing that much about his on the News, have You? Amazing what the Mainstream Media decides we won't be interested in.

From The Brussels Journal

Ramadan Rioting in Brussels

Last Sunday the Islamic holy month of Ramadan began. It lasts until 23 October. Many will remember last year’s ramadan riots, which set France and, to a lesser extent, parts of Belgium and Denmark, alight. Rioting went on for three weeks. Each night thousands of cars were set alight by immigrant youths, until the French and Belgian governments ordered the police to no longer divulge any information about the disturbances, after which the media stopped reporting, the youths lost interest and the number of nightly “carbecues” in France dropped to the “normal” level of about 50.

It looks like some Brussels immigrant youths want to make “ramadan rioting” an annual event. Last Saturday morning, between 1 and 4 am, ten cars were set on fire in the Brussels borough of Schaarbeek. Last night several car and shop windows were smashed and one shop and five cars were set alight in the Brussels Marollen quarter.

Third Night of Ramadan Rioting in Capital of Europe

It looks as if immigrants youths want to turn nightly rioting during the Islamic holy month of ramadan into an annual tradition. Around 8:30pm last night violence erupted again in Brussels, the capital of Europe. The riots centered on the Brussels Marollen quarter and the area near the Midi Train Station, where the international trains from London and Paris arrive. Youths threw stones at passing people and cars, windows of parked cars were smashed, bus shelters were demolished, cars were set ablaze, a youth club was arsoned and a shop was looted. Two molotov cocktails were thrown into St.Peter’s hospital, one of the main hospitals of central Brussels. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fires at the hospital, but youths managed to steal the keys of the fire engine.

Brussels Returns to Normal, for Now

Last night Brussels police arrested 53 youths, including 19 minors, in the Marollen neigbourhood. The area had seen heavy rioting the previous nights. Some of the arrested immigrants were carrying combustibles. One schack was set alight and one car was torched. The police said there were no serious incidents. Yesterday afternoon Freddy Thielemans, the Mayor of Brussels, told journalists at a press conference that of the 45 youths arrested the previous night 31 were known to the police for a total of 242 crimes. The Mayor emphasized that the riots were the work of youth gangs and cannot be compared to last year’s riots in France since there had been no direct confrontations between the police and the rioters.

Muslims Burn 18 Churches, Displace 5,000
From Iris.org to my email in box to you.

Attacks against Christians and Jews continue to go unreported by the mainstream media.

As a result of a religious dispute, nearly 5,000 Christians were displaced and six were injured on September 20th, when Muslim rioters destroyed and torched at least 18 churches, 20 Christian homes, and 40 Christian shops in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa state in Northern Nigeria. After an Islamic young man made several unsuccessful advances on Jummai, a female Christian, he angrily reacted by calling her a fake Christian who follows a "useless Jesus." Jummai responded by telling the boy he followed "a useless prophet—Muhammad." Furious, the Muslim boy raised alarm through the town by proclaiming that a Christian lady blasphemed Muhammad. She was quickly taken to the local police station where she was kept in custody to diffuse the potentially volatile situation.
Notice how the symmetry in the accusations gives the lie to the nearly universally accepted conventional wisdom that Muslims are not fully aware of their double standard on religious insults. A double standard is the basis of sharia (Muslim Law). It is designed to create humiliation and submission of the infidel.

Not In His Own Land or Halfway Between Possum Trot and Monkey's Eyebrow,

Out of the Mystic Hills of Kentucky,
From the Holy City of Paducah,
Which lies halfway between
Possum Trot and Monkey's Eyebrow,

There arose a Prophet.

Now it is often said that No Prophet is Honored in their own country.

But today we have GOOGLE!

I sometimes check my sitemeter account to see the referral links used to get to my blog.

I was quite surprised today to see that the keywords put into Google, which led to my website were

prophets in kentucky

Who am I to argue with the world's preeminent disseminator of information.

The elevation of some prophets have been signaled by flights of white doves.

The sign for Daniel of Old was his being delivered from the Lion's Den.

I seem to have been anointed by Google,

but it is after all the 21st Century.

So here I am,

Chosen of the Oracle Google,

kentuckydan

Cyber Prophet.

I am not unique, as it turns out Kentucky may very well be some sort of Spiritual Nexus.

Other prophets the search pulled up were.

The Great Mad Farmer, Poet and Prophet of Kentucky, Wendell Berry.
and
PSYCHIC / PROPHET LAYLAH.

See? I Even Have An Aura
