"Derer et yndigt land" was first performed for a large gathering of Danes in 1844, and became popular quickly with the Danish people. It was adopted later that year by the Danish government as a national anthem, but not the sole national anthem. This anthem is on equal status with "Kong Christian",which is both the national and royal anthem.
When the Danish anthem is usually performed or sung, the first verse is played in its entirety, then it is followed by the last four lines of the last verse. (This is true whether the lyrics are sung or not

I think I shall title my Post, "There is no "But" in "Freedom of Speech".
When I first started upon my journey through the blogverse I created a
Statement of PurposeNow upon reading it, one can realize that I did not hold to every detail of that original statement, but from it's basic premise, I have never swayed, in my belief that the Blogs are in fact the Committees of Correspondence of the Second American Revolution.
And that it is a Revolution of Information, no longer can we afford and allow elite gateways to control what we can see, hear and discuss.
For I believe that those bloggers who find their way, here and in particular from the Blogs associated with Sam.
HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY.
Some of us are more Serious, some of us are more lighthearted and some post the common ordinary things that make one smile and recall that Life without the simple things to treasure is meaningless.
And it is important that all have a platform from which to speak.

Brief Haitus
My Home Computer is acting up. Actually that is an understatement. It may be seriously fried.
That means I may for awhile be limited to posting during what breaktime I have at work. Or by using my work computer after my day is finished.

My Avatars
Someone on an International Forum, that I post one frequently has found a very interesting facial feature recognition program. They have input some of our profile photos and come up with correlations between our facial features and those of celebrities.
I find my Avatars to be very flattering.
How Cool is that I look like Bob Dylan, Mark Harmon, Kenneth Branagh, Jack Brabham, Patrick Swayze, James Doohan! Scotty from Star Trek!! and George Clooney.

CLEAN ON VIETNAM ‘WAR CRIMES’ CHARGES
When John Kerry slandered an entire generation of men who fought in Vietnam he branded them as "war criminals." Today, much of the same thing is being said about our young men and women in Iraq.
Now, a lawsuit filed in Philadelphia’s Court of Common Pleas will test the very foundation of Kerry’s anti-war persona for the first time. It isn’t dubious medals or Kerry’s disputed service record in Vietnam that is being called into question. This time Kerry may finally be forced to answer for the events that launched his public career, one that made him an anti-war hero for many American liberals and a turncoat for millions of Vietnam veterans.
The lawsuit (Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation, et al. v. Kenneth Campbell, et al.) challenges the basis, the factual accuracy of then Lt. (j.g.) Kerry’s acrimonious testimony before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971. It was there Kerry’s public career was catapulted with his now ubiquitous portrayal of American soldiers as murderers, rapists and torturers "who ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam . . . [and] razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan."
For the anti-war, anti-American protesters, the American soldiers are the "terrorists," and the enemies are the victims of a barbaric U.S. military which tortures and murders defenseless civilians.
That false premise, one of the most vicious and enduring smears spawned by Kerry 35 years ago, will also be put to the test once Kerry’s true "Band of Brothers" are put under oath in a Philadelphia courtroom.
The background to this lawsuit is long and complex, but even a condensed version is rich in irony and poetic justice.
It had it roots in 2004 with the documentary Stolen Honor: Wounds that Never Heal. Many may recall the film, although it is probably best known for not being seen, suppressed after Sinclair Broadcasting Company courageously announced it was going to air the documentary in its entirety. Thanks to Kerry and his liberal colleagues in the Senate and their enablers in the mainstream media, Sinclair was browbeaten into withdrawing the film, its broadcast license threatened by a Kerry campaign manager in 2004. The film’s producer, Carlton Sherwood, a Pulitzer Prize and Peabody Award-winning investigative reporter, interviewed former POWs for the documentary.
I was among those whom Sherwood, a decorated Marine combat veteran himself, asked to participate in Stolen Honor. I was a POW for nearly six years, held in North Vietnam prison camps, including the notorious Hanoi Hilton, a place of unimaginable horrors — torture, beatings, starvation and mind-numbing isolation. When Kerry branded us "war criminals," he handed our captors all the justification they needed to carry out their threats to execute us. Thanks to Kerry, Jane Fonda and their comrades in the anti-war movement, our captivity was prolonged by years. The communists in Hanoi and Moscow couldn’t have had a better press agent to spread their anti-American propaganda.
To guarantee Stolen Honor would never be seen by anyone — not even theatre-goers — the producer was slapped with a libel and defamation lawsuit.
That lawsuit was filed by a long-time anti-war disciple of the Massachusetts Senator. He was one of Kerry's key war crimes "witnesses," one of several on whom Kerry claims he based his Senate testimony.
The lawsuit put a unique spin on the definition of defamation, claiming that Stolen Honor had damaged the public reputations of himself, Kerry and others by simply quoting their own words and criticisms of America during the Vietnam war!
The POWs and the wives of POWs who participated in Stolen Honor refused to abandon the facts conveyed in the film. For some of us, it was the first time since our release by the Communists in 1973 that we were able to have our voices publicly heard, to tell our stories about the consequences of Kerry’s treachery. In 2005, we formed a nonprofit organization, the Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation (VVLF), to gather records, documents and other materials to form a fact-based, educational repository for students and scholars of Vietnam history and to tell the true story of the American soldiers in Vietnam. The VVLF’s mission is "to set the record straight, factually, about Vietnam and those who fought there."
For our efforts, we were promptly sued by two long-time anti-war Kerry followers and VVAW members. It was clear that Kerry not only wanted to punish us for Stolen Honor; he intended to use surrogates to sue us into permanent silence and financial ruin.
Forced to spend huge sums to defend ourselves from these frivolous lawsuits, we have filed a countersuit against these Kerry surrogates and intend to reveal the truth about the lawsuits and their sponsors. We believe that we can prove that the purpose of nearly two years of litigation was to protect John Kerry, to drain us financially and spiritually, and to prevent us from setting the record straight.
At stake is ultimately nothing less than the integrity of the American military in Vietnam, the honor of the men who served their country, the nobility of those who gave their lives, and the truth of America’s history in Vietnam. Until or unless we do correct the existing record, the American military may never be free of the myths and smears of Vietnam, its honor and integrity cleansed as it fights to defend freedom at home and around the world.

Reality checks: some responses to the latest Lancet estimates
Once again it seems the Lancet has released a new Study, just before an American election. That is not an unjust claim they have stated as much, that was the reason for the timing of it's release.
As to be expected, the opinions line up.
Some will believe anything as long as it is damaging to America.
Some will refuse to believe anything that is damaging to America.
But some will actually analyze the data.
To which both sides, will claim that the analysis is biased. All to be expected.
ExceptWhen one of the Preeminent
Anti=Stop the War-NOW NGOs releases a statement that
they think the Lancet study is so fatally flawed as to be worthless, and indeed constitutes a grave disservice to the Anti-War movement, it must be taken under consideration.
The Iraq Body Count Org is by no means a center of Neo-Con militarism. Quite to the contrary they definitely oppose the War, but they
do seem to have a radical degree of intellectual honesty.

A new study has been released by the Lancet medical journal
estimating over 650,000 excess deaths in Iraq. The Iraqi mortality
estimates published in the Lancet in October 2006 imply, among
other things, that:
- On average, a thousand Iraqis have been violently killed every
single day in the first half of 2006, with less than a tenth of
them being noticed by any public surveillance mechanisms;
- Some 800,000 or more Iraqis suffered blast wounds and other
serious conflict-related injuries in the past two years, but less
than a tenth of them received any kind of hospital treatment;
- Over 7% of the entire adult male population of Iraq has
already been killed in violence, with no less than 10% in the
worst affected areas covering most of central Iraq;
- Half a million death certificates were received by families
which were never officially recorded as having been issued;
- The Coalition has killed far more Iraqis in the last year
than in earlier years containing the initial massive "Shock and
Awe" invasion and the major assaults on Falluja.
If these assertions are true, they further imply:
- incompetence and/or fraud on a truly massive scale by Iraqi
officials in hospitals and ministries, on a local, regional and
national level, perfectly coordinated from the moment the
occupation began;
- bizarre and self-destructive behavior on the part of all but
a small minority of 800,000 injured, mostly non-combatant,
Iraqis;
- the utter failure of local or external agencies to notice and
respond to a decimation of the adult male population in key
urban areas;
- an abject failure of the media, Iraqi as well as
international, to observe that Coalition-caused events of the
scale they reported during the three-week invasion in 2003 have
been occurring every month for over a year.
In the light of such extreme and improbable implications, a
rational alternative conclusion to be considered is that the
authors have drawn conclusions from unrepresentative data. In
addition, totals of the magnitude generated by this study are
unnecessary to brand the invasion and occupation of Iraq a human
and strategic tragedy.

We would hope that, before accepting such extreme notions, serious consideration is given to the possibility that the population estimates derived from the Lancet study are flawed. The most likely source of such a flaw is some bias in the sampling methodology such that violent deaths were vastly over-represented in the sample. The precise potential nature of such bias is not clear at this point (it could, for example, involve problems in the application of a statistical method originally designed for studying the spread of disease in a population to direct and ongoing violence-related phenomena). But to dismiss the possibility of such bias out of hand is surely both irresponsible and unwise.
All that has been firmly documented as a result of the Lancet study is that some 300 post-invasion violent deaths occurred among the members of the households interviewed.

There Are Things Worse Than 8 Years of Bill Clinton.
There have been a few people who are upset at the Republican Party.
There has been some mention about punishing the RNC by staying away from the polls in a few weeks.
I will say this, if they are displeased with the actions of a Republican controlled Congress, will a Democratic controlled government be better?
We have seen the results of a generation of that.
Their intentions may be good, the results of their actions may be a disaster, if carried out.
Yes I know Winning through Defeat worked at the Alamo. But it was a tad
hard on the troops there.
We cannot afford to willingly give the Democrats control of the House and Senate until the '08 Elections.
We may end up giving them control, unwillingly, and while I do not think they can take us beyond the point of no return, who wants to risk it.
I was never more brought to an awareness of the consequences until I read in Confederate Yankee
Democrats Plot Impeachment and
President Pelosi at Flares into Darkness.
Yes I want you to contemplate these small factoids.

J'ACCUSE!, the immortal words of Emile Zola, the great French novelist,as they appeared in a Paris literary newspaper, L'Aurore (The Dawn) on Thursday, Jan. 13, 1898, ".
When he wrote his accusations in a letter to the President of France denouncing the sacrifice of the Rights of Capt. Alfred Dreyfus, on the Alter of State Expediency.
" No other newspaper article has ever provoked such public debate and controversy or had such an impact on law, justice, and society."
I do not hope to create such a conflagration, but I do hope to ignite a spark, in a few, and maybe those few can nurture it, spread it and carry it much further than this small insignificant blog.
I am going to relate a tale of the suppression of the rights of one woman, to an extreme that surpasses even the injustice done to ALFRED DREYFUS.
A story, so bizarre, so convoluted, that when she approached other organs of the State, for succor,
no one believed her!There exists in Canada a program called NIVA (New Identities For Victims of Abuse). This is a noble endeavor, it had admirable aims, but,
When Candace unwillingly enrolled in a secret government protection process which offers Battered Women facing possible deaths in the hands of violent partners new identities to escape the abuse, little did she know that she was "jumping from the frying pan into the fire"!
Yes you read correctly
unwillingly enrolled , against her wishes, terrorized into entering a program, and making sacrifices, that her situation did not warrant, and then
abandoned. Her very identity ripped from her, forced to exist in a limbo of legal non-existence.
The man,whose abuse had prompted her to approach the State for Justice and Protection, paid for his actions, was punished, how?
With absolutely nothing. No repercussions, no penalties, no fines, nor even prosecution.
Candace, instead was the one who sacrificed, everything.
Everything but the breath in her body and her child, and even in that last instance the State did not even take the precaution of assuring her legally total custody rights to her child.
I will provide links to more complete details of this story, which if read by any right thinking person, will lead to only one conclusion.
This woman was violated in every possible way that it is possible to be violated.
Appealing to the State for Justice and Protection, Candace received neither Justice, nor Protection, instead the State stripped her of everything of value to her, her rights, her identity and her dignity.
There is a word in English to describe such a violation, That word is
RAPEJ'ACCUSE !
I ACCUSE the State of the Institutionalized Rape of the Woman Known as Candace.

Do I advocate that NIVA be abolished? No it's intent is good, but as we shall see it

I have had an internet acquaintance with the author of that email for some time and her story is also daunting. Daunting and evidence of experiences that qualifies her to make statements on this issue, and judgments of the validity of the statements of others.
Here are just a few items from

Victim of a serial rapist, the young woman from Red Deer, Alta., determined to bring her attacker to trial.
Those who know Rasai's case attribute his arrest to Holly's fight not to let the file be forgotten. "Holly actually forced institutions to do their jobs," says Scott Newark, executive director of the Canadian Police Association.
Holly's case and others like it also helped change Canada's Immigration Act. Would-be immigrants like Rasai can now be turned away if officials believe they committed a crime outside Canada punishable here by a jail term of ten years or more.
Holly has since started a new life in a new city. Reflecting on her crusade, she says: "Either you're going to live with the pain and deal with it, or you're going to die from it. If I had not fought to see Rasai caught, I would have died inside."

The Lancet lies...
Those are words used in the title of an article by an Iraqi named Omar who has a blogsite called
Iraq the Model the full title of what he wrote is
Responding to the Lancet lies...When I read the report I can only feel apathy and inhumanity from those who did the count towards the victims and towards our suffering as a whole. I can tell they were so pleased when the equations their twisted minds designed led to those numbers and nothing can convince me that they did their so called research out of compassion or care.
To me their motives are clear, all they want is to prove that our struggle for freedom was the wrong thing to do. And they shamelessly use lies to do this…when they did not find the death they wanted to see on the ground, they faked it on paper! They disgust me…
This fake research is an insult to every man, woman and child who lost their lives.
Behind every drop of blood is a noble story of sacrifice for a just cause that is struggling for living safe in freedom and prosperity.
Those are the words used by Omar as a reaction to the Lancet study. The whole is worth reading. The blog itself is worth study. It will contain information, and sentiments you will never find in Mainstream Media reporting, and anyone who has not had their mind made up
for them with agit-prop soundbites would have to ask themselves,"Why has this been hidden, covered up, suppressed ignored.
But it is true it is an emotional reactions, so there will be many who can comfort themselves that the Lancet study has facts and numbers on its side.
But does it really? It has claims but few will have looked at its
facts They will read the different variations of the numbers 600K, 650K, 655K and will look no further.

Study estimates 655 000 excess Iraqi deaths since start of warFor most that would be complicate, involved and confusing.
Omar also wrote down his thoughts on a website called,
Politics Central. Its title is a little longer.
J'accuse: Iraq the Model responds to the Lancet Lies, again Omars essay is more emotional and subjective, rather than objective.
But in the comments section, one commenter brings up some very revealing statistics. Their claim
can be verified in the Lancet site itself.

The mortality rate in the EU is 10.10/1000.
The Mortality rate in the US is 8.5/1000.
The mortality rate in Hungary is 13/1000
The world average mortality rate is 8.5/1000 per year.
The Lancet study uses a "baseline" mortality rate of 5.5. Half the mortality rate of Europe.
After all their fancy interviews...the Lancet Study comes up with a mortality rate for Iraq that is statistically the same as Hungary.
I must have missed it, but Hungary hasn't been at war for decades. The EU has been at peace for 60 years. They have the worlds best healthcare.
But their baseline mortality rates are more than double Saddams Iraq.
It is really easy to come up with a huge "excess deaths" number if one believes that no one ever died of anything in Iraq prior to 2003.
Iraq was an idyllic socialist paradise...unequaled since the Garden of Eden during Saddams reign.
Just ask Saddam...and not those pesky Kurds or Shiites that were mass murdered.
But then...so was the Soviet Union except for those 10's of millions that just magically "disappeared".
There is no lie too great that the hardcore leftist communists wouldn't tell.
So for those who have accepted the Lancet study as gospel and a smoking gun to denounce America with?
You must also accept as the truth that the Iraq mortality rate before the Invasion, was
almost half of Europe's and in addition
thirty-five percent lower that Americas. I have give above a link to the Lancet website and the study for those who wish to verify this claim. Some will not go to that much trouble, the Lancet Lies are too convenient.
Anyone who can still claim in the face of those numbers that the Lancet Study has any relationship to the truth has no idea what that word means.
There definition is instead, anything that can damage America, with no desire for what the truth really is or what the Iraqis feel.
There are those who truly want peace, at times I disagree with their opinions, but there are others who do not really care about Peace, they do not care about the Iraqi People, they merely care about how to damage America.

Those who support Oppressive Totalitarian Regimes out of naivety are one thing, those who do it out of malice for America are another and some of them are
AmericansThis is nothing new, they have been with us from the beginning of the Republic.
Samuel Adams spoke of such:
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us
in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down
and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon
you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
We have an election coming up, I hope people find out about these facts and before they pull that lever, fill in those spaces, they ask themselves.

"Derer et yndigt land" was first performed for a large gathering of Danes in 1844, and became popular quickly with the Danish people. It was adopted later that year by the Danish government as a national anthem, but not the sole national anthem. This anthem is on equal status with "Kong Christian",which is both the national and royal anthem.

When I first started upon my journey through the blogverse I created a
Statement of PurposeNow upon reading it, one can realize that I did not hold to every detail of that original statement, but from it's basic premise, I have never swayed, in my belief that the Blogs are in fact the Committees of Correspondence of the Second American Revolution.
And that it is a Revolution of Information, no longer can we afford and allow elite gateways to control what we can see, hear and discuss.
For I believe that those bloggers who find their way, here and in particular from the Blogs associated with Sam.

Some of us are more Serious, some of us are more lighthearted and some post the common ordinary things that make one smile and recall that Life without the simple things to treasure is meaningless.
