Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac; it is a fixed water sign. Scorpio is represented by several symbols: the Eagle, the Scorpio, and the Serpent. Scorpio's can either be very, very good (like the little girl that had a curl right in the middle of her forehead) or very, very bad (for example, Charles Manson and Jack the Ripper). There is always much more to a Scorpio than meets the eye, and the sign likes mysteries. A medieval type for Scorpio is the magician. The traditional ruling planet is Mars, and the modern ruling planet is Pluto.

The Sanskrit name for this month is Vrischika - the Scorpion
IKUWA - Scorpion Fish. In Hawaiian mythology, is depicted by the Scorpion fish, akin to the Scorpion in Greek mythology, a fixed water sign of a Governor or Inspector.

Celtic Tree Astrology

Walnut: 10/24 - 11/11

WALNUT TREE (the Passion) - unrelenting, strange and full of contrasts, often egotistic, aggressive, noble, broad horizon, unexpected reactions, spontaneous, unlimited ambition, no flexibility, difficult and uncommon partner, not always liked but often admired, ingenious strategist, very jealous and passionate, no compromise.

Beth-Luis-Nion Tree Alphabet : Ngetal (Reed) October 28 to November 24

NOVEMBER

Massage joints stiffened by winter dampness with olive oil into which generous-sized rosemary sprigs were placed to steep a couple of weeks before.

Special spiced cakes with currants were given to the poor on All Souls Day (November 2) in old England.

November -- Oak Moon

The sacred tree of the Druids and the Roman God Jupiter is most noble as it withstands winter storms.

Frost Moon - November.

The beginning of winter, when days grow shorter, and the nights longer. The time when the hints of winter to come are showing, chill winds blow and frost forms, while the pale golden sun's presence wanes. Nature is in regression, the summers visitors have left, squirrels have gathered their winter stores and the first of winters visitors are arriving. A time of inner reflection and growth, for divination and developing psychic talents.

Native American Astrology

Many Native American traditions teach that there are twelve Earth Personalities that make up the Earth Medicine Wheel. These are an earth-centered, rather than planet-based, kind of horoscope that gives us valuable information about our totem animal, our personality, and our spirit-task in life.

October 23 - November 22: The Frost Time. Snake.
Your principle lessons: Your impatience causes you pain and discomfort, but such traumas are teaching you the need for proper timing. Being confronted with seemingly formidable tasks and difficult tests is part of the regenerative process inherent in your nature, which can enable you to transform what was into that which may now be. Such challenges push you beyond your own self-limitations.
