Superstructure Information:

The Dark Warrior is slender in appearance as his armor is light – all apart of his design to move quickly and actuarially. In robot form, one would be scarcely aware of Jungle being a beast warrior at a glance as most of the noticeable features such as the beast’s head and the extra limbs are tucked away. The point of this is obvious when considering Jungle was brought online by the Maximal Secret Police (MSP) to function as one of their agents – the lack of distinguishing features allows him to blend in, making him the type of ‘bot you’d forget the very moment he passed.

Jungle’s colorings are black and white – nothing exotic. His optics are dark blue – almost black. Like some beast warriors, he has teeth. However, two on the top and two on the bottom are fanged – he is bonded with panther DNA after all.

Weapons/Equipment/Special Features:

* Chain Guns:

At a first glance, such weaponry may seem out of place or even unpractical for an operative such as Jungle. However sometimes stealth fails and when it does, if you are unable to hit hard and fast – you’re toast. The pair of chain guns are unveiled when the Dark Warrior’s upper chest plating moves downward as a single piece. Extending from their compartment slightly, each is equipped with six launchers, firing armor penetrating solid rounds, capable of penetrating even TM2 and Greater Force armor types.

* Cloak Field:

The first documented mention of cloaking technology dates back to the Great War era, when an Autobot named Mirage had the ability to generate a cloaking field around himself. The technology, though effective was crude as the field was a rectangular barrier or ‘box’, giving way to many limitations. The technology has evolved such that the field is now essentially ‘skin tight’ allowing for a greater range of mobility on the user’s behalf. However, one major problem still exists - when the cloak field is in use for prolonged periods, a great deal of heat is generated allowing for sensor detection to occur. Such a spike on a sensor grid could equal certain death.

* Final Retreat:

A devise planted in the Dark Warrior’s spark casing designed upon its implementation to cause his spark to implode. The results, though imaginably catastrophic, have never been released by the MSP. Of course, the devise is not MSP standard issue as many may be led to believe. The question that then begs to be answered is; how did the final retreat come to be? The question has fallen on death’s ears. Notably, it is believed that attempts to remove the devise would result in its triggering. Amidst all the rumor and speculation, one thing is clear; the final retreat devise is an immensely powerful weapon of destruction that can only be used once.

* Knives (4x):

The description name says it all. There is nothing special about them and there doesn’t need to be. They are thin and black with curved blades. A basic but highly effective weapon of choice for those whose survival is dependent upon stealth. They are stored in compartments in the Dark Warrior’s under arms, designed such that the handles slide into Jungle’s palms when un-holstered. What that amounts to is simple – in a near single motion Jungle can kill or severely wound any target – TM2 or otherwise.

* Night Vision:

A notable carry over from his beast form, in robot mode, the Dark Warrior can clearly see in the dark. When employing this feature, Jungle’s optics change from their dark blue coloration to a bright red one. Other then making him look fierce, the practical benefit lays in that his eyes do not need time to adjust to radical light changes. Thus he does not experience any sort of momentary blindness.

Personality:

Jungle’s foremost desire is for personal peace as a lifetime of conflict on and off the field of battle have left a raging storm within him. Few have ever gotten close enough to the Dark Warrior to even be aware of his inner struggle – he masks it well. In missing that piece of the puzzle, most tend to just give Jungle a wide berth, being as how that is far easier in comparison to trying to figure him out.

In fairness, half the time, Jungle doesn’t even know who or what he is.

Jungle has been known to just go off on his own, only explanation being that he has his reasons.

Added to the mix is the fact that everyone knows that Jungle is a former MSP agent and MSP agents are regarded as sly, brutal and untrustworthy - for good reason.

Thus, Jungle is often found alone.

An on again, off again drinker, at times letting his twisted sense of humor show, Jungle is generally level headed, though often enough he is quick to anger.

The thought of combat excites him at some level, which scares him, never knowing if he should welcome it. One thing is for sure, his experiences have turned him into an above average fighter. Partly because it is all he has ever done, Jungle spends most of his free time perfecting his fighting, stealth and tracking skills. Military history, cards and pool also catch his interest.

Jungle chooses his friends and allies very carefully, trusting few and generally keeps his feelings and emotions to himself. Those that he does accept as friends, he does watch out for and aid when needed, for life.

The Dark Warrior is not without his 'softer'/'friendly side', but that is a side of Jungle few ever see.

History:

The Dark Warrior was brought into being when a protoform split into three segments. Not an uncommon occurrence in of itself, but rare in that each still had enough integrity to house a spark. One such segment was given to the Maximal Secret Police (MSP) and from it, Jungle was born or rather ‘Jax’ as he was known in those days. Surviving the MSP conditioning program which consisted mainly of being isolated, constantly beaten and tortured, in an effort to educate one on MSP policies - under the instruction of Alert - Jungle entered the MSP’s ranks.

That is until he began to question the very nature of his existence. Having been brought online specifically to function as an MSP agent, Jungle never really gave much thought to his actions as he was simply fulfilling the purpose of his existence. What then caused this kind of ‘outside the box’ thinking? What else; a woman. A woman who would come to be known to the universe at large as ‘Icerunner’ or simply; ‘Ice’. Essentially Ice was in the wrong place at the wrong time as she bore witness to an MSP operation. Rather then simply killing her as protocols dictated, something came over Jungle and he spared her. Why? No one is quite sure but he did and thus they became dear friends – best friends.

Leaving the MSP, Jungle enlisted to serve onboard a Maximal cruiser fitted to be an exploration ship dubbed, the 'Maximus’ where he served with Ice and several others: Guyver, Heretic, Jennifer Scott, Primevil, Pyre, ReGex, Sabretooth, Squirrely, Temperance and Volotar.

What is worth mentioning is how over the course of these adventures, bonds were forged - unlikely friendships were created - that have to this day, stood the test of time.

In Jungle’s and Pyre’s case, a sparing match born of frustration after Jennifer Scott departed, ignited what became a ‘mutual respect’ and later a ‘friendship’ which would prove of great importance in times ahead. (Chp: 1, EP)

Also of note, Jungle had an encounter with an alternate version of Pyre, which Jungle dubbed, ‘Dark Pyre’. Many things – atrocities - which the Dark Warrior had thought to be behind him, were forced back into the forefront. (Chp: 2, RTH)

Speaking of alternates, Jungle encountered an alternate of himself as well. A crazed ‘bot, Jungle affectingly dubbed; Red Jungle – due to the alternate’s choice of color scheme. Red Jungle was not capable of dealing with his own demons. Jungle made a promise to himself to never become that. A promise which would be of importance, later. (Chp: 2, EAT)

This period in Jungle’s life ended with him behind the bars of a Maximal Alliance containment cell. (Chp: 2, Aftermath)

Once released having served out his sentence, the Dark Warrior was commissioned into the Maximal Military and put under the command of Orion Regus. In that capacity, Jungle was reunited with Heretic and Squirrely. Also filling the ranks was a ‘bot going by the name of Vengeance who claimed to be a clone of the then thought to be deceased Pyre - now known to be in fact Pyre's brother. Notably Jungle was extremely dark and aggressive during this period - the lingering effects of his encounter with Dark Pyre and Icerunner's believed death - which led to his rejoining the MSP. (Chp: 4, TOF)

Jungle would next be seen approximately a stellar cycle later when the MSP had formed a partnership with a rogue band of transformers known as the ‘Four-Faction Group’ (4FG). Using MSP technology, the 4FG developed a super weapon capable of inducing solar flares. Jungle was assigned to safeguard the MSP’s interests. However when a task force dispatched from space station Cybertronian Alpha 2 arrived - which included Icerunner - the Dark Warrior saw fit to aid their efforts in destroying the weapon.

Why?

A question Jungle has yet to answer.

Rather then simply disappear back into the shadow world again, Jungle became station CA2’s resident MSP representative – an unusually public role for a ‘bot who typically did all he could to reframe from view. (Chp: 5, Values)

Almost immediately, Jungle found himself at odds with several of his old friends including; Heretic, Icerunner, Squirrely and Temperance, likely due to his choice to rejoin the MSP sometime back and alcohol as the Dark Warrior had developed a border line serious drinking problem.

The next major event was the return of Pyre. Ever hear of the 'CA Massacre'? This is it. Pyre arrived at the station with incredible powers which he used to convert the station's inhabitants to vampire like creatures. One such inhabitant was Jungle’s girl friend, a fellow MSP agent named DeVin. Despite their on-again-off-again relationship, Jungle considered her to be the love of his life and Pyre violated her and used her to hurt Jungle. The curse was lifted and it was revealed that Pyre was not in fact responsible for his actions as another force - later founded out to be the Greater Force was controlling him.

Still.

Pyre violated the woman he loved, an act Jungle could never forgive Pyre for. Yet, in spite of that, Jungle still went to bat for Pyre by convincing the station’s commander – his brother Quade – to allow Pyre to remain onboard.

Why Jungle would turn around and do that has never been said. (Chp: 5, DT)

When the MSP was ordered to be disbanded by the Maximal High Council (MHC), Jungle found himself in some real hot water as he no longer had the protection of the government behind him. An alien race known as the Carcanens took full advantage of that fact by expediting Jungle to their home world as so Jungle could stand trial for crimes he committed against their race while in the MSP. What came out of this was an alliance between Jungle and Pyre that resulted in the Dark Warrior’s death sentence being revoked and Jungle adopting a Carcanen boy, whose father he had killed. Jungle - along with DeVin - joins the Maximal Military. (Chp: 5, OW and Revelations)

Jungle excepted the position as first officer for station CA2, but by this time the landscape had changed dramatically. For one thing, his brother Quade had been reassigned to command the elite Red Star Omega fleet and for another, Jungle had fallen out with everyone save Pyre. His adopted son had also been abducted by parties unknown. Finally, Ice had joined and thereby been reassigned by the MIS.

The Maximal Alliance, at this point, was in the midst of a war which was not going well, with an alien race known as the Carbations. The Carbations’ war machines were provided courtesy of the Greater Force.

The effects of the war impacted Jungle rather personally.

DeVin’s death on a mission was the very last straw for the Dark Warrior who resigned all together from the military and did his best to simply fade away. (Chp: 5, HFO)

But destiny or rather an equally powerful force; the Greater Force, that is, had other plans.

Infused with unimaginable Greater Force provided power - as Jungle was in fact the chosen - the Dark Warrior set out to destroy the Greater Force once and for all.

With the backing of the Maximal government headed by Cain, the Predacon Alliance and various other alien governments, an epic battle unfolded. The ongoing war with the Carbations had cost them all.

Pyre, Squirrely and Temperance stood by Jungle’s side - one more time - as he entered into the very heart of the Greater Force. There the Greater Force revealed that they were who was responsible for abducting Jungle’s ‘son’ who had been transformed into a cyborg with immense power who called himself ‘Black Commy’.

As an emotional storm swelled inside the Dark Warrior, Pyre battled Black Commy, a battle which concluded by Pyre sacrificing himself to hold him off from Jungle.

Jungle snapped.

Jungle literally snapped.

Finding a source of strength within himself he never knew existed, the Dark Warrior found the power to control the crippling anger and used it.

He merged with the Greater Force.

Bringing the war to an end in an instant. (Chp: 5, PMK and TBM)

The Greater Force and the technology they imparted to their allies – the Carbations – vanished.

Simply, vanished.

Jungle was thought to be dead.

Destiny or perhaps some equally powerful force had in fact, other plans in mind for the Dark Warrior – not content to simply let his story end here.

The Greater Force - who is the highest known evolution of the transformer race – in fact used Jungle to reach an even higher plain of existence – the point of everything. Jungle had his share of demons, but he was always master of them – never gave into them. That quality of control was what the Greater Force lacked and what Jungle provided.

Having played his part, Jungle was released.

Jungle found himself aboard the newest incarnation of the Cybertronian Alpha space station or CA3 for short.

Several years had passed by. The MSP, by this time, had been re-commissioned by order of Cain, the Maximal Alliance leader.

There, Jungle was reunited with Icerunner and came in contact with his biological daughter: Cyan. Cyan, home to an alternate universe, had been fathered by the Jungle dwelling there.

Pyre turned up as well.
