We Shall Be Healed

Well, I have heard the new Mountain Goats album. And let me tell you one thing: It is good. Not as good as Talahassee, or All Hail West Texas But better than Nothing for Juice or The Protein Source of the Future.... NOW The only thing I regretted about it at first was the ablum cut of "Palmcorder Yanja" (You know: the headstones climbed up the hill) It's a lot more upbeat than when we heard it in concert. Which is really an illusion of the ears, there are drums added, and also it's sped up in tempo by about half a beat. So it's sped up slightly, but not as much as it first sounds. It's quite tolerable after you get used to it.

Today at work has been rather odd, things haven't quite been alright, the phones have went down 8 times since 12 noon. So I've been loosing calls and all kinds of crazy mess like that. So it's been interesting.

Today I plan to introduce a co-worker to Brother Danielson, she seems confident she'll dig it, but for some reason I almost doubt it. I've yet to meet a female who liked Brother Danielson. But hey, anything is possible.

Well I'm about to go to lunch, So I'll probobly add more later. ARG OUT

Salami!!!

I don't know why this is labled salami, but I do know it's a funny word!! And that Gunbound is such a fun game, I could cry. I played it quite a bit last night, and I've found out that for some reason when I'm with other players that aren't from penisaur, I can't aim, haha, it's like I automatically suck when the guys aren't the only players in the game. Hopefully we can keep Chris playing with us, then we'll have a full team. But he seems to get discouraged easily.

This week I have to get in touch with the Wrens, we absoloutely have to. If we don't get in touch with them this week, then they may have a different show planned for mackrock dates and may not be able to even hang out with us there, much less preform. So I have to let them know the plans, and the dates and such. I've already emailed them, but they never answer their email, or they have never answered MY emails. I probobly need to contact Cory too. Because if I can't get in contact with them, I know he can, and it'd be cool if he could come too. Because I know he seemed to enjoy himself there too. This year's macrock will be awesome. after Dec, I'm going to start putting back money for it. I want to have at least $550 to go up there, hopefully $1k. I don't wanna be left broke again up there ;)

THANK GOD for CGI based IRC It has been my best friend at work :D

Gotta go! Hopefulyl will add more later!!

Oh boy

I guess things could be worse here, yesterday I took 110 calls in 8 hours. That's way too many calls, that's almost 14 calls an hour. But that was yesterday. Today, all of those people that were having tech diff yesterday, today we have to tell them that it's up, troubleshoot completely & then when it doesn't work, tell them maybe there is still tech diff. Because we are still down, but the company that's down never likes to admit when it's down.

NOW IT'S TIME TO PLAY: WHAT SONG IS STUCK ING ARG'S HEAD TODAY?!!

Jenny

You Roared into the driveway of our:: Southwestern Ranch Style House:: On a New Kawisaki:: All yellow and Black:: fresh out of the showroom::.....:: Our house faced west:: So the big orange sun:: positioned at your back:: lit up your magnificent, sillouette:: how much better :: How much better:: can my life get?:: Nine-Hundred cubic centimeters of raw, whining power:: no outstaning warrants for my arrest:: whoa ho whoa:: Whoa Whoa, The Pirate's Life for me!::...:: I hopped on back of the bike:: Wrapped my arms around you:: I sank my face:: Into your hair:: And then I inhaled:: as deeply as I possibly could:: you were sweet and delicious,:: as the warm desert air:: and then you pointed your headlamp:: towards the horizon:: we were the one thing in the galaxy:: god didn't have his eyes on:: nine-hundred cc's of raw, whining power:: no outstanding warrants for my arrest:: Hi diddle-dee dee:: God damn:: The Pirate's Life for me!:...

Obviously this tasty little song is stuck in my head today. Once again, another Mountain Goats song. Funny thing is: I haven't listened to the Mountian Goats for weeks! Odd huh?

Tonight I plan to play a bit of GUNBOUND It looks like it could be a massively multiplayer version of worms! And we all know how fun the PC game worms is!!

Sometime soon I hope to shoot some poor defenceless animal, skin it, and then store it's carcass in my freezer! Deer hunting of course. I'm obviously no redneck, but it's fun to shoot things, and deer meat is darn tasty. So I plan to go hunting soon. I just don't want to sit out in the cold like that.. I need some hunting clothes. The guns won't be a problem. But the clothes will be. I don't have any camoflauge, and no thermal underwear(it gets cold out there!!).

Finally, my day is almost over. That one affiliate is back up, and now we're having to get them all working again. thankfully I only have 25 min or so left here. yay. Then I'm off for this weekend. Thank you God. So I'll see you guys Monday!!!

It's gonna be a long day's night.

I already know this is going to be a long day. I get here early and the tell me to go ahead & log in, because we have so many calls waiting. So I have been on the phone for 10 min before I was supposed to, so I get to go home early. I believe we have two or three of our people we support down at the moment. How fun eh? I've only been on the phone like 32 min, and I have taken 10 calls already. This is rough. Wait, now 21 calls. My gosh, and it isn't even 1pm yet. Geez.

Been listening to a lot of Exploding Hearts today. I really love this album. The thing is, I think even this is better than You Forgot it In People Sometimes I do not understand the fork. *shrug* Maybe with Josh being there now, things will be a bit more understandible.

When I go home I think I'll listen to Folksongs For The Afterlife again. I haven't given that cd a spin in a while.

Interesting development. A co-worker here just started walking around the room, with a customer on hold, asking everyone if they are saved. When they replied, he would ask them if they were sure. I don't I've ever seen anyone that scared as that boy when he asked these people. Something is wrong, I don't know what. My Boss asked him to move to the other side of the room for a moment, and the tech looked at him like he didn't even see him, he walked a few steps, and my boss had to coax him to move a bit further, and after about 3 min of coaxing he'd move 3 or four more steps... that continued for a few min. until finally the coaxed him to go into another room. It's really got a few tech freaked out. Some believe something bad is going to happen to him, or to us, others believe something bad has already happened to him. I don't know what to think... It's just really confusing. I'm up to 48 calls, I'll be back later

New Wave of Mania!

Pendulum-mania that is!! Pendulummania! Its a japaneese game, and most of the text is in japaneese.. but it's incredibly addictive. The File opens with winrar. Very fun, very odd, very addictive, you have this pointer, and the pointer has an elastic string with a ball attached to it, and you swing the ball around to break other balls. Now the thing is, if the elastic stretches too far from momentum, it breaks and the game is over. Also you get powerups to make your ball bigger, and your string longer. and it speeds up. It's an interesting game, fun, difficult, and enjoyable, even annoying at times. But it's definately worth a play, Josh, Paul, and Paul's Roomate Chris Are all competing for high scores. As of this moment Paul has the high score at 12 million something I think, or was it 14 million? well I'm going home now. goodbye!!!

I'm all by myself

Well, I have been placed back in my own little corner of the room again. They've given us headsets, demanded we wear them, because they constantly record every word we say(even off the phone). So now they're sure to catch people who goof off at work. *rolls eyes* They can't even hook these things up right all the cords are in the wrong ports, and they expect this to work. pfft. It'll happen when microsoft gives up the rights to the word "windows?" It's not gonna happen.

This CGI IRC thing is working out nicely, of course there are lots of quirks for me to get used to, but I'll manage. I'm still trying to dig that BSS album, I mean there are some great tracks on there, but there is nothing heart-wrenching. I mean seriously, the first time I listened to The Meadowlands I cried. I literally cried. Like a little girl who's pet pony got shot & manufactured into glue right in front of her, making her watch the entire time, and someone screaming into her ear the entire time "He feels every bit of pain from that. And if you don't watch we'll do it to you too." Yeah, it made me cry like that little girl would be crying. But not because I was scared, or sad, but because it was so beautiful. I'm talking complete waterworks. The album is so well organized, so perfectly pulled off. I don't think pitchfork knew what they were saying when they said that You Forgot it in People is better than The Meadowlands. Now I know that The Meadowlands was rated several points higher than the BSS album, but in the freaking review of The Wrens album, they say(somewhat) "GREAT ALBUM! BUT YOU FORGOT IT IN PEOPLE IS BETTER!!" I wish I could see it that way. However I do not. I think it's just missing that poppy flare that the Wrens throw into everything they do, seemingly without effort.

I mean I do have a song from the BSS album in my head right now, I don't know any of the track names, so I couldn't give you a title. haha but it goes like this for several min: Park that car:: Drop That phone:: sleep on the floor:: Dream about me..:: *repeat*

Yeah, that one. I don't know it's name, but because it repeats that line, it's really easy to get stuck in your head. But Happy By the Wrens doesn't even have a chorus, and I can easily get that stuck in my head, I did after the first time i listened to it, Happy and She Sends Kisses were instantly stuck in my head when The Meadowlands finished playing in Winamp. I just don't think there is any real comparison between these albums.

Trying to Understand

According to pitchfork The only album this year that's better than The Meadowlands by The Wrens, is Broken Social Scene's You Forgot it In People. And I am trying my darndest to find out why they say it even comes close. So the other night I burned You Forgot it in People to a cd and I have been listening to it for the past couple days, Of course I do not have lyrics or the track names handy when doing this, because normally I'm driving while listening. Now I'm obviously a huge fan of the Wrens, but I'm trying to not let that bias interfere with this. I'm really wanting to like this album as much if not more than The Meadowlands, just like pitchfork does. I really am trying. It's just not working. I dig the album yeah, but I wouldn't place it much higher than John Vanderslice's Time Travel is Lonely which I personally don't rate higher than a 6.7. Maybe I just need to listen to You Forgot it in People a bit more. I dunno, but after about 5 listens and still not grooving it as good as I did The Meadowlands the first time. *sigh* Oh well.

Car Troubles Over

Well I straightened out all of my car troubles today. Got up at the crack of dawn and drove back up to the dealership. They offered me a payment option just 16 dollars more than what I was already paying. So I told them that if they could pay that extra 16 dollars until may, then I will pick up the payments fully from there. Because by May I should have payed off the loan I had gotten back in april to replace the engine in the old Argmobile after the tragedy at AVPH. Which will give me more cash to work with & I can afford that small increase in payments. I still don't like that idea that they signed me on with one thing, and then decided to change it later. That really does annoy me.

Tonight for the first time in about 4 or five days I'll get to once again be awake past midnight, because I will not have to be up before 8 am. My cousin needs to work on a resume on my computer, so I'll have to get my printer working again after the reinstall of windows. Which I should be able to accomplish before he shows up tonight, if I can remember to do it 8).

Well It seems office depot had an offer where you could get Maxtor 160 GB 7200 RPM hard drives really cheaply. 25 dollars in fact. It required 4 coupons, and two mail in rebates. The only problem is they caught it after the first few people did it, and they disallowed others from stacking the coupons from then on. :( Oh well, so much for that idea. :(

Car Trouble?

Well I think the company I bought my car from is wanting to play 'Indian Giver.' Because out of the blue they call me up & tell me that we forgot to sign a paper. So I give my mother power of attourney to sign for me, and go there & sign it since I had to go to work. Well it turns out they wanted to change the terms of the contract. They want to increase the payments by 50 bucks a month! This is after we've already signed the contract!! This is rediculous. But I know things are going to work out to my advantage. We went up there this morning to yell at them, and tell them to shove their new contract. They siad they really wanted the deal, as do I. So they're going to work with their financing companies and get it to the point that my payments are once again in my range. Which I am thankful for. Because unfortuneately I do not get paid enough to handle 50 more dollars a month on that car payment. I don't get paid enough period. You'd think that for someone with 11 years experience in computer tech support, I could get more than 6.50 an hour. Well apparently in my area you cannot. I'm not going to continue this rant because I know some people from my job may read this and somehow get me fired for complaining about my lack of pay.

But Continuing about my car, I know my car was a gift from God, and God doesn't give you something just so he can take it away. So I'm counting this as just some trouble that's come up and it will not stop me. I will have my payments lowered back to original or even LOWER payments and I already give God the glory for it. He's helped me so far in life. I haven't been let down yet.

I must say, being a morpher or a blue mage has to be the hardest classes to attain in FFT:A. To be a blue mage, you almost HAVE to have a Beastmaster, so you can control the beasts to attack the blue mage, because elsewise they avoid the blue mage like the plague. And a Morpher, my god, that not only REQUIRES a hunter in your group to capture one of each kind of animal. But also requires you to raise your animals that you've caught so that they can level up, or else your morpher will just be weak. Now the hunter, can only capture animals that are near death. And they also cannot be the last animal on the playing field. And when I say near-death I mean has like 1 or 2 hit points left NO MORE and it will not work if they are dead! And then it's only like a 60% chance. and that's from behind, with the animal sleeping. Jeez. But Morphers seem to be really powerful, they can turn into those animals that you fight, and then use all of their abilities at will. Pretty cool. A blue mage just learns those special abilities(after being attacked by them, and only ONE per match) and then uses them against the enemies whenever he feels like it as Blue Mage abilities.

Somehow some wiseguy up here has found a way to configure our proxies so that I can still use IRC, but I can't get anywhere. Oh joy. So I can still use IRC at work, but I can't connect to anything with it. I get these lovely little errors:

  • *** Looking up ferret.uk.eu.zirc.org
  • *** An error occured: Looking up address: Illegal seek
Fun Fun Fun! So much for my IRC-at-work days. Even the CGI on zirc.org's website won't work! Man. So much for that bit-o-fun. Back to blogging the day away. Unfortuneately today has been too hectic. Not with high speed calls. But they keep transferring dial-up calls back here. Because apparently all of our techs keep quitting. So we are understaffed for our load now, and we're sacrificing high speed to help dial-up get their act together. I know when I was in dial up, it was not unusual for me to take over 50 calls a night. Now that's a lot of calls. But In high speed, because all the calls take signifigantly longer, I usually get around 30 something. Well now that we're having to mix in dial-up, it's getting pretty ugly. I get 40-50 calls again. And it's sad to say, but 75% of dial up users are complete idiots. And about 30% of high speed users are morons as well. But I get signifigantly less idiots per day in high speed. Now I get many more with the large influx of dial-up calls. Ugh..

Speaking of the recent proxy change, I think I may still be able to run a cgi IRC. So if any of you have a link to a good CGI irc interface that I can plug in whatever servers I want to That would be good. Then I can hang with my crew again. ;) java based will not do. it must be cgi.

Actually, I think I just found one, I just wish I could find one else where than www.caffenine-powered.com oh well.

I think I'll end this entry for today. So Long Chums.

New Car!

Well the destruction of the Argmobile yeilded a few good things, I now have a new car. Something that will be low maintenence. I now have a Nissan Sentra, 2003 model. Which means that I have a warranty, also for the first time ever, I have a built-in cd player in my car. So I am really enjoying that. I get really good gas mileage. So it is overall a completely better car than the Argmobile, so, I have in turn given it the rightful name of Argmobile(2) (the two will be left off most of the time, but if referring to the old one I will say the old argmobile) But my new car is champange colored. And it really tempts me to drive too fast. You stop watching the speedometer too long and then you're somehow going 80 and it doesn't even feel like it. So I'm going to have to get used to that. It does not have cruise control, but I can live with that. The only thing I don't particularly like is the power windows. I don't like power windows. They don't seem to last long enough & you have to pay through the nose to replace them. I don't mind the power locks though. Because now I have that little car remote thing that lets me open my trunk, and unlock my doors ect. So that's cool. The stereo sounds great, has decent controls even. So I'm happy with that, it has no problems with cd-rs so that's even better. the only cd it's had problems with is The Danielson Famile - Tri Danielson!!!(Omega) because the first track is 14 and so it confuses most CD players. There are 14 tracks on the CD, but the first track is 14, and the last track is 28. So it's even confusing to me, I can't imagine how confusing that is to a pice of machinery. I'll probobly just burn a copy of it (having tracks 1-14 instead of 14-28)and use it instead.

I'm really loving my car, I'm looking for excuses to go driving now. Haha. But anyways.

I've been in a metal mood lately. Maybe it's my lack of time around Josh or something. I don't feel like I'm 'reverting' because I still can't stand Nu-Metal(for the most part, Spineshank is okay sometimes) But I've just felt like I've fasted myself from metal for long enough now. And It's time to re-intergrate it into my life along with the indie-rock and such that I have listened to nearly exclusively for about a year now. So I feel rounded finally.

About my afforementioned abscence form #penisaur. Two days ago I was tweaking some settings on my PC, and was going to tweak the RPC service(which is the service that was exploited by blaster worm and caused people's PCs to restart because of a bad setting in there) So I was going to change the default failure action from being "Restart PC" to "Do Nothing" but I accidentally also changed the startup action to "Disabled" Which I find out after restarting, RPC is needed for ANYTHING internet related. So... I had to try to re-enable it. Easier said than done I spent 4 hours trying to re-enable it, even triyed doing a system restore and a windows repair. Even a System File Checker & DLL restore. But nothing solved it. I couldn't go back the way I messed it up, because it would no longer bring up that option. So out comes the trusty Win2k install disc. And Byebye old install of windows and here comes a fresh install. I did that all last night. So.. I am now trying to get all of my windows updates back, and reinstall a lot of drivers and such. So that's nearly a chore. But at least I do backups of my utility install files bi-monthly. But unfortuneately my next scheduled one would've been today. So I had to use ones from September. But that's okay. Most of the stuff I had gotten since then weren't too important. I just need to find a very few things now. Thankfully I had backed up the win2k SP4 install(240 megs) so I don't have to re-download that. Thank God!

So Now I have to restore my color scheme, re-acquire my backgrounds ect.. I think this will be a good time to switch browsers as well. I am debating on either firebird or Opera. I'd like to use Safari, but it doesn't work on windows. I want something with less bloat than IE or netscape. But I know mozilla isn't the fastest browser in the world, but I know they are making MANY steps forward with firebird I haven't bothered with it in several months, So that may be just what I'm looking for, but I know many people say great things about Opera. So we'll see.

I'm still playing FFT:A way too much, haha. I now have Marche with all the steals mastered, double weapon(carry two swords) Most all of the Ninja moves mastered, and I'm stealing other peoples abilities like a mofo. I can steal their hard-earned abilities with Steal: Ability(imagine that!) The only thing is I can't steal reaction, support, or combo abilities. But I also cannot steal Blue Mage abilites. (which is what I have marche at right now) Blue mage is kinda hard to use, it's like enemy ability from FF7. They have to attack you with their magic ability and then you learn it. So for the first few tries, you know NOTHING. Haha. So I'm keeping the STeal Abilities too so I can steal other peoples abilities as well until I can learn some blue mage stuff. Stealing in this game can be really fun, you can only get certain items this way, also I wish I had gotten steal weapon much earlier. but I didn't get that until I got steal abilty, because I have no clue when I'll finally get a swordbreaker. Learning Blue mage ablities is a bit harder than I thought, it's almost required you have a beastmaster, because that's the only way the creatures will even user their abilities on a blue mage, but you still have to hope it's an ability that a blue mage can learn! Now I just thought about it and I don't have the blue mage learning ability as his support ability 0_o And now my lunch break is over, haha and I have no more time to do it. Haha, fun fun fun when I get home.

Now I'm trying to teach more people at work some html. I really enjoy it, it gives me a reason to actually clean up some of my sloppy code. I've really gotta get Paul to teach me some PHP.

All I can think about is listening to the beautiful music in my new Argmobile, and playing final fantasy tactics: advance. So This entry is ending now 8)
