Ann Maloney’s Ceramics
and Lisa Brown’s "Children at Play"

Reception  December 6, 1998 from 1 - 4 PM.

From December 1 to December 31, 1998 the Watchung Arts Center will have two crafters on display in the foyer. The opening reception will take place on December 6, 1998 from 1 - 4 PM.

Ann Maloney owner of Ann’s Ceramics was inspired as a child by an aunt who worked in ceramics. She took a few lessons and has been creating pieces ever since. Most of her pieces are holiday driven, but she creates pieces for the all occasions as well. She and her husband reside in Union, NJ.

Lisa Brown’s craft is with oven baked clay and material. Lisa creates dolls in various stages of play. Lisa begun creating her Swinging Dolls about 4 years ago. These are dolls which are found hanging from balloons, rings, kites and even hot air balloons. The constant motion of the swinging dolls and the individual expression make them unique. Since then the clay dolls have expanded some sit in chairs, look at a clock or sleep on jewelry cases. and even becoming the jewelry. She has won prizes and ribbons for both her paintings and sculptures.

The experience of art is so rewarding and comforting that Lisa would like to share it with others. She has been studying and teaching Art Therapy for 6 years in that pursuit. Lisa and her husband and two boys live in Watchung.
