The Pilaf series is what starts out the whole Dragonball legacy. It starts out with Goku, a young jungle boy walking on a log. When he gets home, he picks the big log up and punches it into neat little pieces. From this point on, we now know that Goku is not you typical little kid. Goku goes into his little house and start talking to a orange ball with 4 stars in the middle. The scene then cuts to a girl who is looking around. She pulls out a strange, round, looking device. She then gets into her car. Goku, now, is walking in a forest and jumps down a cliff. He undresses and sticks his tail into the water. We see a big fish try to grab him but Goku kicks it and that is that. Wile taking his fish home he hears something. Just then a car hits him. He gets up and throws the car down. He gets ready to attack it and pulls out his staff. The girl shoots him with a gun. They talk for a little bit and they head to Goku’s house. She tells him, her name is Buruma (which means Bloomers, or women gym shorts), Goku laughs. When they get to Goku’s house Buruma notices Sushinchü (the 4 stared ball). She tells Goku the story of the dragonballs. From this point on, Goku and Buruma’s journey begins.

They leave, and Goku called Buruma a witch because of her dino caps. On they way, Buruma is taken hostage by a big bird type monster. Goku easily defeats him. Buruma decides it is getting late so she uses the dino caps again, and out comes a house. Goku learns some things here, like what a bath is. Goku leave for a bit to find some food. This is were he has his first encounter with Shal and Mai, the henchmen of Emperor Pilaf. The next day, Goku meets a turtle named Umigame. Goku and Buruma help it get to see. He brings Muten Roshi with him on his return. Mater Roshi gives Buruma another dragonball. He also gives Goku the Nimbus Cloud. Their next stop takes them to a small village being terrorized by a character named Oolong. A shape-shifting pig. They get another ball after saving the village and Oolong becomes their friend. The next person they meet is Yamcha. He follows them for a while. They all go to Fry pan Mountain (or Fire Mountain). They discover that there is a king that will kill you if you take his treasure. Goku and Chi-Chi (The Ox-King’s daughter) go to find Master Roshi. They do and he extinguishes the fire with that all mighty Kamehameha. From this point on Goku can do the Kamehameha. It took Muten 50 years to learn it. Next all the dragonballs get stolen be Shal. They follow him to Pilaf’s Castle. Pilaf summons the dragon, but Oolong wishes for a pair of women’s underwear. They are all put in a glass room to be killed in the morning. But, Goku looks at the moon and goes Oozaru. He destroys the castle. Puar, morphs into a giant pair of scissors and cut off Goku’s tail. Then, the group splits up.

Goku goes to Muten’s and meets a monk named Kuririn. They train under Master Roshi, to try to enter the next Tenkaichi Budokai. When the tournament comes around Goku meets up with his friends. Goku goes Oozaru again, but a competitor, Jackie Chun (Master Roshi in disguise) blows up the moon. Goku heads off to find his Grandfather's 4 stared dragonball.
