The Dining Room was treated to the same renovations as the Living Room: plaster replaced with insulation and drywall, ceiling joists reinforced, floors refinished. In the Dining Room, we also added crystal wall sconces (requiring new wiring) and a crystal changelier that we brought from Casa Rosa.

| The Dining Room had water damage before we began work. Someone before us had put drywall OVER TOP OF the plaster, so the drywall partially covered the window molding. The water damage made the drywall crack and begin to sag, so someone had screwed it to the ceiling and tried to support it with a 1 x 2. We thought we took care of the water problem by removing the window air conditioners upstairs, until one day, when we were working with my Mom, water started to drip through our brand new dry wall! The problem was quickly identified - clogged drainholes in the storm window frames upstairs - and fixed and all was good again. | ||||
