Part 8 by Dian
Dian pulled her self-back up into Morning Star’s saddle as she watched Angel mount Marlon. “Let’s get going then!” Dian told her friend as she pressed her knees into Morning Stars flank.
They reached the temple before the sun had set over the high ridges. Dian feed and unsaddled Star before putting her in her stable. Meeting back up with Angel at the stable door they headed back to the temple doors. Just as Angel laid her hand on the door handle they both expected it to swing open but it didn’t. They were supposed to have been back the day before but Dian had wanted to go after the sunfire stone (Glogem). Stepping in the main foyer of the temple Dian and Angel looked around. A few priestesses were scattered around. Most of them Dian and Angel did not know. Dian let her eyes drift over the room. She jumped a little when Angel tapped her on the shoulder. “What?” Dian asked.
“Look over there by those new priestesses,” Angel told her. Peering in the direction Angel pointed Dian saw two new priestesses talking with Zelena. Dian gave Angel a grin and pulled the gem out of her pocket concentrating on turning invisible the young priestess did. She held the gem out to Angel setting Angels hand on the now invisible gem and Angel turned invisible. She was so glad she had been able to get it working at one of their stops along the way back. Together the two invisible priestesses walked slowly toward Zelena. They knew they were invisible but hey also knew they could be heard. Slowly Dian reached her hand out and tapped Zelena on the right shoulder. , while Angel tapped her on the left shoulder. Zelena jumped at the touch. Her hand automatically going for her sword at her side. As the other two new priestesses looked at Zelena like she had gone crazy. Dian extended one finger on Angel’s arm. Then another and then another until Dian had three fingers streched out on Angel's arm. At this Angel let go of the gem and Dian put it away.
Slowly to Zelena’s astonishment she began to see two people form right in front of her. Snapping her fingers she appeared Ares. The two newer priestess' mouths where open in astonishment.
Dian turned to Angel and said, “I love this.”
“Yeah I know,” Angel replied as they both appeared.
Ares looked at his two priestesses. Eyes wide he asked, “How did you do that?”
“Do what?” Dian asked.
“Dian? Angel?” Zelena choked out. Zel knew that gods could do that but neither of the girls were goddesses or had the power to do it.
“What did you do eat ambrosia or something?” Ares asked.
“Nope,” Angel answered. Dian high fived Angel as the two started to walk away.
“Then how did you just do that?” Zel asked following them.
“It’s a trade secret, Zel. I can’t tell you. I’m sorry,” Dian said as she turned and walked towards her chambers.
“Like she said,” Angel told them as she made her way after Dian.
Zelena looked at Ares as Ares went after his priestesses. He would demand that they tell him or he would find out on his own.
Dian gave Angel a evil grin as Angel caught back up with her. “So do we start in the morning or tonight?” Dian asked Angel.
“Tonight!” Angel replied. As a very big evil grin stretched across Angel’s face. Just then Ares appeared right in front of them.
“I want to know how you did that right now!” Ares told them.
“Well then it seems you have a little bit of a problem,” Dian told him as her grin faded.
“Because we are not going to tell you,” Angel chimed in.
“Oh yes you are,” Ares told them as he tried to reach into their minds.
“No Ares,” they said and walked away.
“If Ares had found out it would have blown operation disapearing act,” Dian told Angel as she opened her room.
“Yeah I know.”
Dian touched the Glogem in her pocket then turned to Angel, “I think we should start now.”
“What before it is dark? Are you nuts?”
“No but I do have this,” Dian told her holding the Glogem out to her.
“Oh yeah,” Angel said pondering it, “but who will go first with it?”
“You will take it tonight and I will work with out it. Tomorrow night we will switch and you will work with out I and I will work with it. You do remember how to make it work both ways right?”
“Yeah, I even remember how to make it not glow around me but still inhance. My vision when I’m invisible,” Angel told her friend as she turned the gem on.
“Then let’s get started you take Fyrfo’s room and I’ll take Ender’s room. Let’s do it.”
