"They said a woman doctor could not survive alone on the new frontier, but I won't give up. And I'm not alone anymore, I've inherited a family and that may be the biggest challenge of all."-Dr. Michaela Quinn

This website is dedicated to the television show Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. It was created
by Beth Sullivan and aired for six seasons on CBS starting in 1993 until it was canceled in 1998.
Set in the 1860's, a time when women were not accepted in the medical profession, Dr. Michaela Quinn is tired of being rejected by patients and her fellow physicians. When her father dies she leaves her hometown of Boston and heads west to Colorado Springs, Colorado in response to an ad for a doctor. There she faces many trials as she tries to prove to the townspeople that a woman can practice medicine. She does find the friendship of the local midwife, Charlotte Cooper, who later dies of a snake bite and leaves her three children to "Dr. Mike." Mike also befriends a handsome mountain man, Sully, who helps her to gain the acceptance of the town.
