During most of the time Leftos Gialos Beach is a quiet white pebble beach with nice blue and clear waters. There are two taverns open till late at night where you can enjoy local delicacies or drinks. As I understand the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. For those who like it there are some free sunbeds on the beach if you buy a drink at the bar (note: not all of the sunbeds on the beach of Leftos Gialos are free!).

You can drive To Leftos Gialos Beach by car in about ten minutes (7,5 kilometer) or by boat in 40 minutes from Patitiri. A taxi to the beach costs around ten euro (2013). The downside is that there are sometimes organised excursion boats, that are on their way to visit Skopelos and Skiathos island and than also make a stop on this beach, so their guests can do some swimming. During those hours it can get a bit busy on Leftos Gialos Beach, but don't worry: the tourists from the boats don't stay for ever.

What a very nice place this is: the Island Beach Bar on Leftos Gialos beach. Unfortunately we did not have much time the day we were here, but otherwise we certainly would have stayed longer. There are sunbeds and comfortable sofas and chairs and there is a beautiful pool of which you can make free use if you order something. There is a nice lounge music in the background. The service is very friendly (Giannis and his family) and the coffee is delicious. Moreover Leftos Gialos is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island of Alonissos, with lots of small white pebbles and a sea that is bluer than blue. The beach is so beautiful that occasionally even an excursion boat from the nearby island of Skopelos will make a stop here, so that everyone on board can have a look. Highly recommended if you just want to make a short stop or if you want to relax for a few hours.
