Summer 1998

This is the summer I was an Attractions Hostess! I was a cast member at the

ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter!

If you have ever been to this attraction, I am sure you have heard something like this.

Turnstile Spiel:

"Good afternoon everyone and WELCOME to the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center. You are about to experience a very intense demonstration with bright flashing lights, periods of total darkness, and very loud noises that may be unsuitable for some children. Children not meeting the height requirement of 44" may not particpate in this demonstration. Any guests using electronic medical devices that may be affected by electro-magnetic fields are advised not to enter this attraction. While inside, we ask there please be no eating, no drinking, no smoking, no video recording, and no flash photography. Thank you and enjoy your stay here at the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center. Ladies and Gentlemen, the automatic doors in front of you will be opening momentarily. Please stay clear of the silver grating, the doors do open toward you."

Lobby Spiel:

"Welcome Travelers! My name is Ann Marie and I'll be your hostess during your stay here at the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center. Your journey into the technology of tomorrow will soon begin! But first, a brief introduction from XS-Tech."

Working as College Program Alumni at the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter has been a blast. I never thought a job could be so much fun.

Alien Encounter is located in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World, Florida. The Magic Kingdom is divided into Lands. Main Street U.S.A, Adventureland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and the best one of all!!! TOMORROWLAND!

I made many friends at my work location this summer. I wish I could see them again soon! This is a picture of my friend Elizabeth. Here, we are working Parade Area Control, commonly known as PAC. This is when the "Making the Magic" Parade required us to hand out stickers to children who wanted to participate in the parade. I love doing Parade. It's a blast and you meet such wonderful people from all over the world.
