The Hubblan and the Seharg By Jose R. "The Captain"The Hubblans are an old and wise species of crystalline rock creatures that can be described as a mixture of a Chenjesu and a Taalo (assuming that the Taalo were made of rock). The height of these creatures is varies, from 1meter to 100 meters, their lifespan is from 2000 to 500000 years. Their homeworld is a moon with no atmosphere that orbits a gas giant. The gas giant is 0.5 Aus from the sun. The average surface temperature of that moon is over 1000 K. Like the Chenjesu, the Hubblans are a very peaceful and friendly race that hate war (in fact, their philosophy is based in the principle of the peace and friendship with other sentients). The Seharg are a very old species (let's say, a million of years).Due to their lack of limbs (hands or something of that type; for communication, they use light rays),they weren't able of develop technology and they were condemned to not leave their homeworld. For millennia, in solitary existence without any predator and worries about food they developed a complex and interesting philosophy. However, one day, they established contact with an advanced alien race of space travellers (perhaps the Precursors, is not know well). That race was looking for a gas giant to refill the fuel tanks of their starship and they found their planet (if you wonder why they chose a planet so hot, the reason is very simple: that it was a unique gas giant). This race gave them some technology that they could use to start a real civilisation, but the Seharg can’t remember why. When they finally used a ship with hyperspace capability they found the Hubblans. They have remained in peaceful contact with the Hubblans ever since. The Seharg and the Hubblans are very autonomous, but they do have a military alliance, but they are not friends. The Hubblan "Crystal Star" is a big, slow and stubby vessel made entirely of crystal with the form of a irregular crystal without any weapons and only defensive systems. The main defensive system is a stasis field that protects the ship of missiles and other weapons of that type paralysing it during a few seconds. For defence against lasers, the hull of the ship acts as a mirror that reflects the enemy lasers in any direction -ever against the ship that fired it. It holds 40 crewmen. The Seharg “Enforcer” is also a mainly defensive ship with a mirror hull. But they have a powerful forward weapon. It’s a semi-homing piece of crystal that does one point of damage. The ship is about half as big as the “Crystal Star” and it holds 20 crewmen |
