Antioch Chronicles Campaign !
ZealotOnAStick has started a campaign to have PC Gamer's Level Paradise include The Antioch Chronicles in their Single Player Starcraft Levels. I think this is a Great Idea! and I've allready sent my email off. Read more about it at Yggdrasil.net.
SC Wins Awards
PC Fan awarded Starcraft three very choice awards for 1998. It took Best Game of the Year, Best Multiplayer Title and Best RTS Title in the Editors Choice Awards. They also let the fans vote for thier favs where SC took the Best Multiplayer and RTS title awards. Half-Life got several awards also, including Best Game of the Year from fans. Patch 1.04 Released
Patch 1.04 for Starcraft has ben released. You can download it here. (2.4mb) Blizz posted a correction to the Patch text file here.
And The Champ Is....
Honest`[SG] won the Season 3 Ladder Tournament. Prizes include a trophy designed by Blizzard, a gold master pressing of SC, and a copy of SC signed by the development team. All the players that participated in the playoffs will receive an engraved plaque from Blizz with their name and ranking on it. The 99 WInter Ladder season is allready underway and will end March 31st. Congrats to Honest'[SG]. Battle Reports for all 5 games are posted beginning here.
US Bombing Iraq
Seems like de'ja vu but here we go again. I have no defining opinion on this. I find it so futile in a way. Maybe it's cause I'm not of the male gender, maybe it's cuz I have a brother in the air force... I don't know. I find it sad. "Peace on Earth, Good Will Towards Man.." I wonder if it will ever be achieved. Don't mail me on this one, I'm just thinking out loud really.
BW Units Details
Shlonglor mad a post that gives all the unit stats, costs, spells, upgrades, (you name it, it's here) for the new Brood War units. He made a correction post that should be read also.

Ladder Maps Announced
Shlonglor posted the ladder Maps for SC Season 4 and BW Season 1. Nows a good time to start practicing on them.
No Mac SC for Christmas
The release date has been pushed back to some time in January hopefully. Man I bet those peeps are pissed. Blizz got an expansion pack out for the PC before they even get the original game :( Read the post here.
Catching up on the Ladder Tournament
Well I missed a few of these. It'd be easier on both of us to just go here and look at the chart. To make a long story short it's Honest'[sg] vs :+:jolly:+: for the Championsip. They're playing the last match tomorrow at 6p.m. PST. You can check out all the Battle Reports for the nitty grity on the matches.
Info on Patch 1.04
Here's the post Shlonglor promised today. Read all his posts in the thread to get all the changes. The post includes changes to Units and Star Edit.
Blizz kept their word and got this one out in time for the holidays :) Check out the pick they put up of "Sarah Claws". A cropped version is up at the main site with the Gold Announcement. She's one little helper I wouldn't want to run into under the tree.

Patch 1.04 info
Shlonglor says to expect some info on patch 1.04 today. Here's the post:

Chat Can Be Risky
Did you know that while in chat you are quite open to a hacker (or anyone else) getting your IP? If your not aware of the security risks involved in this, maybe you should read this article at Integrity. I'm not trying to make anyone paranoid, just informing ya'll that this can and is done. And much much more actually :)

StarDraft SE Beta Released
Here's some news from King Arthur:After the release of StarDraft SE Alpha, we came across a few major bugs that had not shown up during the development process. Today I had a few minutes of free time so I sat down and fixed the bugs that had plagued the Alpha release:
- Marine stats now show up normally in Arsenal II
- The StarEdit Availability listbox now works with older versions of units.dat
- The Plugins.ini file no longer assumes files are stored on the G drive.
- Arsenal II's Upgrades Editor has gotten a face-lift to match the rest of Arsenal II
- The Upgrades Editor also now has a "Repeat" variable which was removed from earlier versions. This enables you to make certain upgrades repeat more than 3 times.
- The Installation process registers CWAD Archives to open with CWAD Manager when you double click on them in Windows.
- The Shortcuts placed in the Start Menu now work properly.
Since the majority of the bug-fixes involved Arsenal II, we are offering it as a seperate download for previous users of StarDraft SE. This will save them approximately 2 megabytes when downloading. This will likely be the last release of StarDraft for a while, unless there are other major hidden bugs. If all goes well, we will change the version number and release it on the PC Gamer CD-Rom as soon as possible.

EB World Release Dates
EB World is saying Brood War will be available Dec 17th. Price is $24.99 (U.S.) No news from Blizz yet tho. EB is also saying that Baldur's Gate will be available Dec 22 for $39.99 (U.S.) There's a little news on it at the site. *Crosses fingers*
Best Buy Says
Best Buy told Xenophanes they expected Brood War to be released on Dec 24th. I definitely hope this date is wrong cuz I'm not going shopping on Christmas Eve!

Camelot Systems has released HellDraft. What is it? It's basically StarDraft for Diablo and Hellfire. This version works with Diablo ver 1.00, tho they hope to correct that soon.

Warning: Bad Half-Life Patch
I took this straight off Blues News cause frankly I couldn't explain it better than he does.There is apparently a phony patch for Half-Life being circulated that is being passed off as a version 1.07 upgrade. It is not 100% certain what the patch does, but the combination of an executable called steal.exe, combined with reports that users who have applied the patch have subsequently had authentication problems with WON afterwards suggest that it is being used to steal CD keys. Thanks I AM HALF-LIFE. Again, while it is not 100% certain what this patch does, it is not from Sierra/Valve, and you are strongly warned not to run it.
Here's a No Brainer
An anti-nuclear group wants to pull the plug on nuclear power plants that aren't Y2K compliant as of Dec. 1, 1999. Well call me silly but I don't think that sounds unreasonable. Would a nuclear meltdown bother you? I can't believe they aren't allready compliant. Oh yeah, this is the Government we're talking about. :/
SCM of the Week

3D Acceleration for Doom

Star Trek Insurrection Review
*** Spoiler Alert ***
This does contain parts that might spoil the movie for you if you haven't seen it yet* Now with that said:Saddle Up Boys - I seem to have liked Insurrection more than King Arthur. (read the review at Camelot) Maybe I had less expectations going in. In my opinion, after Gene Roddenberry died, the plots on all things Star Trek suffered. On the remarks about the movie resembling previous tv episodes I can only reply that most of the Trek movies have borrowed from or extended previous tv episodes and that doesn't bother me one bit. I mean Voyager and Wrath of Khan are two examples of how effective this can be. Insurrection is not a continuation of an earlier episode, although I could draw references from several episodes of current Star Trek series and put them in here. But the same can be said about many Star Trek episodes period.
Insurrection introduces a couple new races, primarily the Baaku(sp?) and Soran. And may I say there are no redeeming qualities in the Soran. In fact they're kinda gross. But that's a good thing :)
As for Data and the "malfunction of the week" remark ... I find that uncalled for. He didn't really malfunction! That's simply what the Sano SAID happened. Course that gash on his neck and the whole prime directive thing didn't help his circuits. But he didn't just malfunction.
The movie has alot of humor in it, which I happened to like :) The casting was good, no annoying ppl at least. The storyline didn't have too many holes in it tho I do wonder what ever happened to Worf and Deanna, and Riker and her were flirting b4 they ever came in contact with that planet so I don't know what that remark from Riker at the end was reffering to. And if Picard really has 318 days of shore leave coming. I think he should have stayed behind for some fun. Who knows? Maybe he'd even grow hair, tho I kinda like that whole bald thing he has going on ;)
I only have one gripe with the movie really... use the whole cast!! Your paying them, give em some lines! I agree with King Arthur on that. But I don't think Crusher had more lines than Geordi. All in all though, I liked it! I guess I'd rate it a 7 out of 10, and that's only because they didn't use all the cast equally. And there are some classics lines in it :) "In the event of a water landing I have been programmed to serve as a floatation device" or "Smooth as an androids bottom" *data feels* shakes head :) hehehe

New StarCraft Levels
PC Gamer has added 30 multiplayer maps and 29 single player maps for SC to their Level Paradise section. They've been reviewed by DrLazardo of SC.Org. Download multiplayer here and single player here. I recognized some of the multiplayer maps so I don't know if they're new maps or just a best of the best collection.
