The Pack

The pack is run by Cub Scout Leader, Michael Herriot and he is assisted by GSL Gordon braidwood and ACSL Jenifer Tait McGillivray. The Pack meets on a Thursday night at 6:15pm, and runs until 7:30. At Preasent we have the maximum number of 36 boys in the pack, and are having to run a waiting list for boys who want to join the pack off the street, as we have to give prioroty to the advancing Beavers.

What we get up to.

At the 75th, our main aim is that all our Cubs have fun in all they do, whether that be playing a game or completing award work. As progressing through the award system is the key issue that makes Scouting different from other youth organizations, the Cubs at the 75th spend many of their pack meeting nights gaining more ticks on their record cards. We try to make the award work as fun as it can possibly be and Cubs often gain ticks without knowing they are actually doing award work at the time. To read more about the award guidelines we adhere to click below.

Most of our nights tend to follow the same basic pattern unless we are doing something special that night. We start off with grand howl, flag and inspection. This is followed by a game and then the nights main activity. This will usually be award work or activity badge work. We then have another game, read out any notices and present any badges; finally ending with the flag and grand howl.

Cub Reports
Joint Cub & Scout Camp- Avondyke, May 1999
By Cub, David Laidlaw
Friday     - We left Millar Hall at 6:30 on a coach. We arrived at the camp hall about an hour later. We then unpacked and played a couple of games. We then had supper and went to bed.

Saturday  - I had a cooked breakfast, I really enjoyed it. We then done some badge work with the Scouts. It never seemed to stop raining. Then we played a game of rounders. Then we had lunch and after went back to our rooms for some free time. In the afternoon we played some indoor games as it was still raining. We then did some work with a map. We had tea, which was chicken. Because it was still raining we had a fake indoor campfire (Built absolutely superbly by myself I must add- Mark) with the Scouts then went to bed.

Sunday    - I had a cooked breakfast, I enjoyed it. We then had a quiz. We were ment to visit the a farm but we couldn't go as it was still raining. We played more indoor games then got packed up and went home.

Altogether it was good fun!
