Gossip from Terran 2001-2002

2001-03.26 We've had lots of new members join us lately, and lots of former members returning! Welcome to Julia, and a warm welcome back to Melissa, Mirren, Tammy, and Kelmo! We've missed you!

2010-11.11 Congratulations to bronze Meerkath and his rider V'ret, and their player Dacia! Meerkath and Miryath will be expecting a clutch of eggs sometime soon. (We are planning a time-forward to the Clutching, because all of the Candidate players have been so nice and patient waiting for this clutch. Stay tuned.)

2002-03.10 Miryath has risen! Your characters may place their bets with our Weyr "bookies," NPCs Famke and Travesty. Enjoy the flight! The winner will be posted on the Hatching Grounds page upon completion.

2002-03.06 We believe that Yahoo! Groups' troubles are coming to a close. The mail delivery is still running several hours later than usual. Please don't repost messages to the list. We have been posting OOC messages on our new backup list at Topica.

2002-02.26 Miryath, our junior queen, will be rising before you know it! (week of March 3rd, Earth time) If you want your bronze or brown to chase, email the BoD as soon as possible. Thanks!

2002-02.24 / 2010-11.6: We are getting ready to finish our ongoing Threadfall plot. The Weyr sadly mourns the deaths of Searchrider Ralairen and blue Valorith, Telana and green Azuriath, Wingleader P'tan and bronze Roth, among others. All the characters who were on their way out are gone now. Farewell.

2002-02.18 / 2010-11.6: 'Fall continues... if you want to adopt one of the BoD-run personas who's been marked for death, (we tried to make it pretty obvious) email us right away and save your chosen ones from planned obsolescence. *plays Taps on her kazoo*

2002-02.10 / 2010-11.6: Threadfall RP! If you wish anything... er, special... to happen to your characters, please email the BoD for prior permission.

2002-02.02: The Headwoman just completed a round of updates to our Torayan Weyr Timelines. These are only available to members, through our Y! Groups files. Members, please check out the timelines, and use them in your role-playing! This update should cut down on some of the confusion.

2002-01.26: We are excited about having welcomed, and welcomed back, several new & former members in the past few weeks! Caryn, Cy, Dacia, Erin, Krystin, Leah, thank you!

2010-10.24: Lord Talan's Gather at Torayan Hold is going very well, despite the rash of petty thievery, weyrling pranks, and heated disputes at the racetrack. We're going to wrap this storyline up soon, so we can go on. Headwoman Beraya will be distributing her famous hangover cure first thing in the morning...

2002-01.13: Updates have been made to the PbEM Guide, the Persona Sheet, the FAQ, the Web Resources, and many other areas. Please take a moment to review the PbEM Guide especially, for there have been some changes. Thanks!

2002-01.07: OK, the website is now fully up-to-date... if you have any questions or problems regarding your listings, please drop me a line. Thanks!

2001-12.17: Due to many RL crises, the Headwoman has been on a leave of absence since October, but she's back now! Don't worry, we're still going strong, with almost 20 members.

2001-09-18: Pirenth's clutch has Hatched! Congratulations to all our newest Weyrlings! For those who did not Impress this time, including those hoping for gold, keep an eye on the skies... our junior queen, Miryath, will be rising soon!

2001-09-02: Candidate applications for Pirenth's clutch are now closed. We are running the Hatching as soon as Crysty gets home from vacation and gets caught up. (sometime after 9/10) Thanks all for your applications! Expect the Clutching soon.

2001-08.28: The website is pretty much up to date now, with the exception of the Persona section, which I'm still weeding. There's a saying the Headwoman likes to remember at times like these... the length of your life is determined by how much unfinished spiritual business you have, and I am so far behind right now, I will never die... heh.

2001-08.08: We have had more members leave us, so we're in the process of revising our persona requirements. Please visit the Persona Sheet to see the new rules for persona creation.

2001-07.10: Also check out our new territory map, recently updated.

The Spring Games are going great so far... we've been playing for about 3 weeks now, and it still isn't time for lunch yet! Funny how RP time stretches, isn't it...

2001-06.20: Our new Weyrwoman 2nd has been chosen! Many thanks to all who wrote such fine entries for the contest.

Ysera, gold Miryath's rider, will be transferring from High Reaches to fill the vacancy. Congratulations to her controller, Mary.

2001-06.20: Starting next Monday, June 25th, Torayan Weyr will be hosting our first Spring Games. (It's summer in RP time, but for this Turn, our Weyrleader has chosen to let that one pass!) Spring Games will be the perfect time to introduce all those new characters you've been saving, since the Weyrleaders have invited everyone on Pern to this event. Members, contact Crysty if you are interested in helping run an event, IC or OOC. There will be prizes!

Keep an eye out for the announcement of the Weyrsecond contest, to be held soon, or whenever the daze wears off from the particularly-- er-- creative plots we've been enjoying lately.

2001-06.20: We have had to say good-bye to more of our beloved members, leaving boatloads of adoptable characters. The Webmistress is still working on updating the lists, but we have many to choose from for your RPing pleasure.

Goodbye, Becki, Senna, Atalanta, Amanda K., Heather, and hopefully not too many more I'm forgetting... we'll miss you, and we'll leave the light on for you if you're ever free to return.

2001-05.25: The Webmistress would like to apologize for the lack of updates to this site. Her home computer's hard drive needs to be reformatted, so she's had to edit this page at work, and there haven't been many opportunities lately. Fear not... Torayan is definitely alive and well! We've gone through a lot of changes in the past few months, mostly for the better!

Please welcome our newest BoD member, Crysty, and her Weyrleader, R'vynn, bronze Wynnyth's rider. Rachel and I are both really excited to have her on board! (hang on tight! ;) )

Contests! In the near future, we will be announcing contests for both the Weyrwoman 2nd and Weyrleader 2nd positions. For the Weyrwoman 2nd, we are restricting applications to role-players who have never owned a gold dragon, or those with only one other gold. This will give more people a chance to enjoy the benefits and the hard work that goes into being a goldrider in a PbEM club. Please see our Positions Available page for more details!

2001-04.05: The results of our first clubwide contest are in. Leland is the winner of the Biggest Pern Geek of Torayan Award. (actually, Mary slightly edged her for the top Geek spot, but since she was running the contest... shards! LOL!) Leland will soon receive a lovely gift for her efforts. *g* Any ideas for Weyr social events? Send them in.

2010-06.24: Weyrwoman Akayla, bronze rider D'in, and brown rider A'ran left Torayan Weyr to make a new life in Ista. Selina, Bren, and green weyrling Shanair accompanied their family to Ista Weyr. Weyrwoman 2nd Kalina stepped up to fill the vacancy, and Pirenth's next flight will determine our new Weyrleader.

2001-03.25 More new members! Welcome Jenn and Candidate/Apprentice Dragonhealer Mihala, and her son, NPC baby Mitas.

2001-03.23 (Terran): The Weyr extends a warm welcome to Candidatemaster Savannah and gold Seth, transfers from Telgar Weyr, Journeyman Healer Sioux, (both Crysty) Dragonhealer E'rzen, (Mary) and their associated NPCs.

On a sadder note, good-bye to club member Lisa and Candidate Braeden, you will be missed!

2010-06.22: Our first Clutch has hatched! Congratulations to all thirty weyrlings, and our newest goldriders, Katra (Mirren) and Maelyn. (Kelmo) The new Weyrlings are posted!

2010-06.11: Lower Caverns worker Mela was safely returned to the Weyr after her abduction. Mela and Weyrleader T'zor are recovering from their injuries.

2010-06.02: Farewell to club member LeeAnn, we'll miss you. Brown rider S'bien, weyrling L'uka, and candidate Aren are now adoptable characters... read their persona sheets, and contact the BoD if you're interested.

2010-05-27: In an exciting flight, bronze Kazith caught Akayla's queen Sheenath, making T'zor our new Weyrleader. Congratulations! Keep an eye on the Hatching Ground for news of Sheenath's clutch.

2010-05.19: Weyrwoman 2nd Kalina's gold Pirenth has clutched! Thirty eggs, including two golds, await Hatching in approximately five sevendays' time. The Candidates are settling in well so far.
