CROSSING THE ENGLISH CHANNEL

It is hard to believe that our trip is almost over at the point. We had an absolutely amazing time and are heading home with tonnes of memories. We assumed we would be heading back to the U.K. via the Chunnel. About a half hour into the ride out driver announced other plans. Our last bus trip took us over the English Channel by ferry. We were excited. I wanted to see the White Cliffs of Dover. Graham didn't expect to be outside and was a bit chilly in his shorts.

We ate on the ferry which was costly. You could exchange money quite easily though by purchasing things. You paid in euros and got change in pounds. We spent most of our trip outside on the deck. It was a clear enough day that we could see both coasts, Calais, France and Dover, England.

Obviously there is only so much more I can say about the ferry. It was nice to have a break from the bus.

The crossing took an hour and a half. Then we spent some time in immigration. The White Cliffs of Dover were beautiful. Apparently they are full of war tunnels that you can tour. Unfortuantely we were back on the bus and back to London. We spent a few more days with Bal and Shayla before heading back home.

During our last few days in London we tried to catch everything we missed out on the first time through. We spent time at the pub, went to Tower Bridge at night and did some shopping on Oxford Street (Top Shop, the Pound Sale at the Body Shop etc.)

Now we are home. The trip is over. We had a great time! Can't believe it is all done.
