Deli Heaven, 1 Helena Street

This place is hidden beyond the ring road that marks the city boundaries. We risked our lives trying to get this place in the snow and ice. Close to the canals and offices it can get busy at lunch times. There must be a national spatula shortage, as the woman at the counter was scooping up chips onto a plate using the manly grip of her bare hands, very traditional. The staff there are very friendly and very loud.

The food wasn’t that bad, it was fairly cheap. They won’t charge you for things you never got, but they might not serve you everything you ordered. You’ll have to walk past a wheelie bin next to get to the entrance, good sign. If you don’t like the food, have a look at the marvellous painted mural outside featuring cheeky vegetables with big grins. There are plenty of nice surprises here, so check the napkins, as some of them may have been used before hand. Overall a great place to eat, clean and the staff can sing!

Deli Heaven can also been found at 22 Caroline Street, Jewellery Quarter.
