Great Southern Land
Worship
T
- One of the cheerful songs from our Australian Christmas musical "Then the Angels Wept".
- so many young women these days seem to stake so much on their physical appearance but that's hardly the real point - since God sees through all that and is looking for people who please Him. It's time someone pointed out to these beauty-obsessed that they need to get their foundations right rather than expecting to get by with feet of mere clay. This song uses dance as a metaphor for purposeful living for God.
- Sometimes we think we have a good idea of God's might, but actually we could barely conceive of how powerful He really is. This country-style dance song reminds us of God's unimaginable omnipotence.
That's
what Aussie kids are praising you for

- an
exciting, racy worship anthem especially for Australian children celebrating the
gifts God gives to our ancient yet regenerating land (especially the diversity of flora and
fauna) and looking forward to making Australia a 'southern land of worship'
- Barbara says she was inspired to write this while reading Job ch. 40, although you might not see the connection!
- This song ministers to those who are feeling oppressed or held back by something, reminding them that God is honing them into precious jewels, treasures for His kingdom. He doesn't see their disability but their beauty of spirit.
