NES Articles
The Written NES Stuff

Hey, what's a site without articles? I wrote up a few cool articles, mainly comparing NES with real life. Then there's a few neat articles which tell about the making of certain games. Of course, there is an article or too about some never released games too.

CES and NES
I remember reading about varius game conventions for the newest game products. Now we have conventions for N64 games and such, but what were the conventions like back in the day of the NES? Read this article to learn about CES '92 and CES '94.

Free Fall - Color Dreams' Unreleased NES Game
Remember Color Dreams, the company which brought fourth such titles as Menace Beach, Operation Secret Storm, and of course Challenge of the Dragon, a Shinobi clone? They had planned a game, Free Fall, for NES, which never made release on NES, but a graphcis hack version was later made available.

Lockarm - The Ultimate Videogame
Once there was a game contest that Nintendo Power held- design up what you would consider the ultimate videogame. A dude Jeffery Scott Cambell won the contest, and Lockarm was revealed. Although it was never programmed, the game sure looks cool.

The Making of Crystal Mines
Remember Crystal Mines, the fun space puzzle game? I do. I was told the design process of this game, it seemed very complicated to me.

The Making of SMB3
Super Mario Bros. 3 was on of my favorite NES games, if not my favorite. As you might have guessed, making it was alot of work, but the desingers had some fun designing it too.

Little Nemo Story
Remember Little Nemo, the fun NES game? The characters were actually taken from an old comic strip. Readt the article if you wish.

Ian's 3D Tank Game
Cool dude Ian Bell released the NES game Elite, which was an Europe only release. Ian was also working on another NES game, it was a tank game, this tank game. It sported 3D graphics and was soon ready for release but it was canned do to lack of publishers.

Castlevania 3 Game Atlas Mistakes
I snagged this off of a message board, added a few more mistakes to it, and put it to html. Hey the NES Game Atlas was great for it's time, but there was alot of mistakes in it.

Hidden Zones of Castlevania 3
Thats right folks, I did say hidden zones. Our favorite Castlevania game has alot of hidden areas in it, such as Alucard's secret tomb and the mysterious extra rooms in the Clocktower. Read on, if you dare.

Finding Famicom Adapters In Gyromite Carts
I wrote this article up special for Robbie Orr. He had wondered if people actually did find famicom adapters in NES carts, well I have presented a pretty fool-proof method of finding the adapters. Enjoy.

NES In Europe
I wrote an article about the NES in Europe, and their censorship issues. Yes, I have been to Europe before, Italy, but I haven't owned any European NES games. My brother does own a French version of Mega Man 3 for Gameboy though.

NES Racism Issues
This article was based off of a talk Calx and I had one night regarding the different characters in videogames, and their races.

NES RacerMate Bike
What happens when you cross exercise with NES? Well for one thing, my friend might actually be allowed to get this thing, his parents aren't too fond of NES, but they do like exercise. Well another thing would be the NES RacerMate bike thing, sourta cool if you ask me.

Pipe Dream Origin
When I was researching the RacerMate thing, I stumbled across what I think the origin of Pipe Dream may have been. Remember Pipe Dream, the fun puzzle game for NES? I always remembered seeing ads for the game, way before I actually bought it.

Super Mario Bros. TV Shows
Nintendo always had its ways of marketing its products to younger gamers. By now Nintendo has seemed to have drawn away from this tactic, maybe kids are growing up too fast these days. Back in the early 90s, Nintendo marketed several TV shows featuring our favorite plumbers and Captain Nintendo.
