| Rough outline of where the pond will be, rough size etc.. planning for
a bridge across the middle (you can just make out 2 sticks laying on the
ground showing where it will go).. My dog looks thrilled... |

| Same as above.. just a different angle. Also planning on a waterfall
coming into the pond from the bottom left corner (which will drain into
the deep end). |

| Me digging the pond... boy did i pick the wrong day.. VERY hot day...
LOTS of digging... (and this was how i spent my day off work???) |

| Candace standing inside the hole we dug... and thats not quite 3 feet
deep yet... (at least she helped me dig, such a sweetie) |

| Another break? wimp... back in my day... we used to dig holes all the
time.. course we had an onion tied to our belts.. cause that was the
style at the time... ok.. now where was i?? |

| "I just spent 4 hours burying the cat... lively little thing..
wouldn't quit squirming..." |

| We put wood across the pond so when we put in the liner it wouldn't
drag on the walls as much while we lined it up in the middle of the
pond... amazingly enuf... it worked... |

| After we got the liner in the middle of the pond we took out the wood,
and then unfolded it (it was folded in half). this pic was just before
we unfolded it. $##^$ thing weighs a ton.... |

| Me filling the pond... we had two hoses filling it.. and it still took
forever... |

| Ah the full pond... now we just have to do the waterfall and the
edges... you can see on the top edge of the pond the rocks we're
using... we had 4000 lbs of it delivered... |

| Here's what it look like under the waterfall. point "A" is
where the filter will sit. Point "B" is where the water goes
over the falls from, we're sealing the liner to the rock right there so
it doesn't go back under the liner.. like when we tried it out the first
time. We also plan on cementing in two narrow rocks on either side of
this liner piece and also a big piece of rock over the top. Point
"C" is where the water will dump in from the filter and will
act as a 'sump' so that when it goes down the falls it spreads evenly. |

| Another pic of under the falls, notice there are now a couple small
fish in the pond happily swimming around. My sister and mom got a bit
impatient so we hadda put something in the pond. |

| This is after we finished the waterfall. We still need to hide the
filter a bit behind the waterfall but its late in the year and there is
no sense in putting plants there to hide it at this time of year
(September). |

| Another pic of the waterfall, different angle. Notice we still haven't
finished behind the pond.. nice pile of dirt... |

| This is what we did with the shallow end. We put in a small
fountain... .. also you can see how we did the edge of the pond. We put
landscape type rock things (that's the technical name) around the
outside and filled between them and the pond with pea gravel. |

| Birds eye view of the pond. Still need to finis around the
back-outside of the pond. but the pond itself is all done, up, and
running.... |

| This is the finished pond with the bridge and everything. It was taken
on July 4, 2003. And as you can see it looks a lot better with all the
plants around. |

| This is a shot from the end of the pond, looking from the shallow end
to the deep end. Gives a good shot of the Zebra rushes in the shallow
end, which won't stop growing... |

| Another angle of the pond with a good look at the garden around it. |

| This is the opposite angle as the one above. It shows behind the pond,
the filter (the big black box), and all the plants that are around the
back of the pond. |

| Here's the deep end, full of lilies... there is a nice big flower
almost ready to bloom but you can hardly see it in the shade of the
bridge on the left hand side. This pic makes the deep end look small but
its actually about six foot across and a little over three feet deep. |

| Here's a picture from under the bridge of the lily flower pod. It
should bloom in a couple days. |

| A nice close up of the bridge. We made it all from scratch and used a
combination of different design methods that we had seen at different
stores and on the internet. |

| The Buddha that sits just to the right of the waterfall, watching over
the lil fishes in the pond. Rub his belly for luck! |

| Well we finally got out first lily flower. Sweeeeeet..... we have
three more on the way.. one of which should be a yellow one... we only
just planted these lillies this spring. |

| Another shot of the pond with our first flower.... |

| One of our fish coming up for food... |

| Nice close up of another pink flower... we are getting new flowers all
the time. When one is finished blooming, another comes out. |

| Our other colour of flower. I prefer the pink one, it has a little
more contrast. |

| The yellow flower lifted itself right out of the pond. |

| We finally got two flowers blooming at the same time. |

| ya ya.. i know... lots of pics of flowers... |

| The whole pond with both flowers out. |
