Ireland is a very beautiful and independent country of Europe, sharing borders with UK. The country has a population of 3.7 million (2000) and an area of 70,273 Sq. km. with a per capita GDP of US$22,120 (1998). Irish Pound or Punt
(*IR£) is the local currency and US$1 = IR£0.84. Irish (Gaelic) is spoken mainly in areas along the western coast; English is the language generally used; both Irish and English are official languages. Dublin is the capital city.
Courses Offered: Courses are being offered at diploma (2 years) and bachelor degree (3-years) levels in Business Studies, “Hospitality Management”, Psychology, Sociology, Tourism etc.
Average Fees: Tuition fees for one year are about US$4,500 for diploma and about US$6,500 for degree courses.
Living: Living can be about US$400 per month on average basis.
Admission requirements: At least intermediate with good grades for admission at diploma level. For admission at degree level, students with a bachelor degree from Pakistan, are preferred. Proof of English Language proficiency (e.g. IELTS) is also required. However, in certain circumstances, students without any IELTS or TOEFL course can also apply. But in that case they will have to do an English Language proficiency course prior to their regular studies at the college. For this course they will have to pay additional tuition fee.
Intakes: February and September. However, students are advised to apply about 5 months before the commencement date of their desired course, due to the lengthy visa process.
Visa: The college helps the student to get the visa from
Ireland, though there is an Irish Consulate in Karachi where a formal visa
application has to be made by the student. Apart from some other documentary evidence, being under 26 years of age is also a visa requirement.
