Recently retired from the National Security Agency. Rather than join the Geezer Corps., I signed up with an international arms dealer. Carole (nee Griffin FLHS '63) and I are moving to northern Virginia in May 1998. Daughter Amanda and son Gregory are grown and launched. We live part-time on the ocean in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Cruised the Caribbean back in June with Somodi's, John (FLHS '60) and Barbara (nee Mello FLHS '61). Heard about this web site from Jerry Ressler (FLHS '59) who knocks himself out at the same Maryland fitness center as me. Looking forward to our 40th reunion! Life is good.

I worked hard for 34 years and now I`m retired and enjoying life with my two grown kids and my grand children. I was in the U.S.M.C. and married my child hood girl friend, And we have been married for the last 34 happy years. I live in Wyoming and we have been here for the last dozen years. The last few years that I've been retired I enjoy every minute of It. Like to hear from anyone from the class of 60. Last year I took early retirement from Dade County's Miami Art Museum where I was Public Information Officer for 15 years. I am currently teaching ESL English as a Second Language and enjoying my first grandchild, Madeline Eve Ames, born Nov. 2, 1999....... I was thrilled that my son and his wife Lara chose to name the baby Madeline as I have such fond memories of my first best friend Madeline Ginsberg .... (if you read this, please reply!)

In my spare time I enjoy creative writing, cooking, painting, walking, swimming, yoga, and spending time with my soulmate, Aaron. My brother Arthur Germain lives in Coral Springs, FL and is an orthopedic surgeon. He graduated FLHS about 1968. My older brother Eddie, Edward Germain, lived in Wayne NJ and passed away six years ago. He was a wonderful person and we all miss him. He has two terrific sons, Brian and Andrew who live on the west coast.

I'd love to hear from Fair Lawnites! I am thankful that I grew up in such a lovely community with friendly neighbors and merchants who knew my name. I walked to school every day and knew most of the people who lived in the homes that I passed by. I never feared walking alone at night from Fair Lawn Jewish Center back to my home. I pray that the new century will return us to family values and am thankful for my childhood in Fair Lawn and the wonderful memories of Roosevelt School, TJ Jr. High, and FLHS. Happy 2000 to all.

I have one son, Gregg Grunstra, a lawyer who works in Manhattan. I live in Waldwick New Jersey. I am a breeder/ exhibitor of Yorkshire Terriers and Maltese. My husband Tom has two children from his first marriage, Tommy and Dana. I return to Fair Lawn on a regular basis and just sold my childhood home this past week. Many small changes have occurred, but the town still maintains its original friendly atmosphere. I attended almost all of the class reunions, except our 35th, and look forward to visiting again with our classmates.

Still in the Mid-Hudson area after 37 years. Divorced; four children happily on their own. Sold semiconductors for 15 years until business went offshore and office closed. Now retraining for a new career as hearing aid dispenser. Active in preservation of historic railroad bridge over the Hudson and trying to keep square dancing alive and well as our national dance. Looking forward to retirement, but that is still a few years away.

John W. Bill Shorter, 61, of Allentown, died October 9, 2004 in SCCI Hospital, Easton. He was the husband of Kathleen (Vallarta) Shorter. They were married for 17 years last October. He worked in the computer facilities area for Lucent Technologies, Allentown, for many years until retiring. Born in Paterson, N.J., he was a son of the late John A. and Lillian (Daube) Shorter. He was a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology with bachelors and masters degrees in electrical engineering. He was a captain in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, 1808 N. 19th St., Allentown. Survivors: Wife; sons, John W. Shorter Jr. of Lancaster, Brian D. Shorter of Nazareth, Michael A. Shorter of Garwood, N.J. and Ryan D. Stone of Alburtis; grandchildren, Kristi, Bradley and Hunter Shorter. Services: will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 12 in the church. Calling hour from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Arrangements, J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown. I left New Jersey in 1966, after college at Rutgers, to do graduate work at the University of Chicago. Then, after a few years working at the University of Maryland and at a scientific institute near Philadelphia, I moved with my family to Tucson in 1975, where I spent 25 years at the University of Arizona. At Arizona, I was a Professor of Planetary Science and a Professor of Physics. I was also Head of the Planetary Sciences Department and Director of the University's Lunar & Planetary Laboratory for more than a decade, and Dean of the College of Science for nearly seven years following that. My work over the years has encompassed research in theoretical astrophysics and planetary geophysics and teaching, as well as various advisory and consulting activities (principally with the Federal Government). I have three sons from my former marriage; all are in school as I write this (graduate school, law school, and college), and spread around the country (Palo Alto, New York, and Houston). In 2000, I moved from Tucson to Houston--along with my companion, Erzsébet Merényi--to become Provost and Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Rice University. Erzsébet is a scientist working with computational artificial intelligence. She too used to work at the University of Arizona -- where her son is finishing school -- but now is also on the faculty at Rice. I get to the northeast from time to time, on business and to visit my family, none of whom are still in Fair Lawn, but all of whom live in or around New Jersey. I have been back through Fair Lawn only a couple of times since the class reunion in 1987 (which I enjoyed, has there been one since?), while wandering around with Erzsébet and/or kids.

It's been a long time since 1962. I am married 20 years to my second wife Chris. I have three grown children from my first marriage, Greg 32, Kelly 31 and Chrostopher 27. We have seven grandchildren ages 10years to 4 months. I moved to California in 1979 for a business opportunity and never looked back. We have been back through Fair Lawn a couple of times in recent years. Still looks the same as when I grew up there. I am a partner in a manufacturer's representative company selling wireless communications product. Chris is an IT network professional. We have been living in the SF Bay area for the past ten years. I've been living in Denville, N.J. for the past 20 years. There are four children ranging from 27 to 7 years old (only one wife). I'm an orthopedic surgeon (I also find it hard to believe at times ) and I've been working in Denville for the past twenty years since I finished my residency in N.Y. Just finding this web site has brought back many fond memories. It would be great if others found out and signed on. Does anyone have a class list? I have a birthday this week and it's getting harder to realize how old we are !!!! I never thought about it before but this is getting to be too much. I have a '67 vette and ride around on "cruise nights" with the other old men in the area, pretending we are still kids ! Does anyone go to Lead East over the memorial day weekend? It's a huge old car show with all kinds of great things to do and see. If so let me know, I'm usually there. Keep in touch ....I'll get back to you....................

I have been living in Fair Lawn since graduation enjoying the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom and now grandmother. I have 3 children..Bill (Reiner) 45, Michael (Reiner) 43 and Sara 29 and 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 5 months to almost 16 with another due in November. My 2nd husband, Bill, has worked in Fair Lawn for the past 45 years and is now semi-retired. We have a 2nd home in Brick NJ where we enjoy fishing and having most of our family hang out with us on weekends in the summer. Life has been good to us....all of my children and grandchildren live nearby and attend Fair Lawn schools. I still go to Fair Lawn HS football games and enjoy watching my oldest grand daughter play in the marching band. Hope to hear from anyone who might remember me.

Classmates! Left NJ in Fall '63 to college in northern Michigan, graduated from college in '67 and moved with my bride to Tucson, Arizona where we lived for 13 years (4 children). Worked as an exploration geologist for a mining company; we were relocated to Sonora (NOT Sonoma), California in 1980 for a gold mining project. The company left the mining business in '83 and I've been a consultant ever since. We moved to Pensacola in '88 where my bride grew up and have been enjoying the beach ever since (where we go, if we see anybody it's crowded that day). Our four range from 21 - 31 in age and we have 3 granddaughters. I run a branch office for a Birmingham, Alabama-based consulting firm doing environmental consulting for municipal governments and industry. I am very lucky in that my bride works in my office as "lady indispensable" (even if that phrase is politically incorrect!). I'd love to hear from other FLHS grads, especially those who live/have lived in Florida or Tucson.

Graduated from Rutgers University in 68' and served 4 years in US Army as Helicopter pilot, spending time in Ft.Wolters, TX (outside of Ft.Worth), Ft.Rucker, AL, Ft. Eustis, VA, Hue and Danang in Vietnam, St. Louis, Missouri. After leaving the Army, worked in Info Technology department of Bambergers, Newark, NJ for two years before moving over to American Hoechst Corporation, in Bridgewater, NJ. They transferred my wife and I to Spartanburg, SC in 1977, where we had our son, Todd (now 30 years old) and daugter, Lindsay (now 28). We relocated to Charlotte, NC in 1988 and to Wilmington, NC in the fall of 2005. I retired from IT in the summer of 2002 and was a Realtor until February of this year. I am now fully retired and enjoying golf, travel, and kayaking.

My wife, Lynda, is a graduate of Douglass College, with the bulk of her career being in pre-school teaching. She has an incredible amount of patience with younger children, which is probably what kept us married so long.

I found this site by accident and feel it is more people-oriented (versus materialistic) than the ever-lovely "classmates.com".

My wife, Marilyn, and I traveled to Khartoum, The Sudan, in Africa in July 2002 as Reformed Church Volunteer Missioners. I taught a course in Biblical Interpretation at Nile Theological College, an institution which prepares persons to serve as Christian leaders in the Presbyterian churches in The Sudan. We concluded our six-week journey with a 10-day stay in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We had a safe time, met wonderful people, and learned alot.

I have had a successful career as an animal ethologist and author. I am the head trainer for Phoenixville Fire Department Canine Search and Rescue Unit. So much history has passed during the past 35 years...through the haze of college parties (that lasted well past graduation) and the larger haze of marriage and raising kids-its amazing that I can still remember HS. I have enjoyed reading about '65 classmates and have procrastinated endlessly to enter the stream. My wife and I became nomadic in 1980: moving from NJ to Tucson, San Francisco, LA, a brief stint in Coral Springs, and finally Irvine. For the past 5 yrs I have chosen to work out of the house which has afforded me the luxury of watching my 2 daughters grow up (1st yr college, 2nd yr HS). My parents are retired in Lakehurst and my mother actively speaks to HS students about her Holocaust experience. Look forward to talking with some of you.

Hi everyone. I've been in my house in Fair Lawn since 1978, divorced since 1994, and teach in Milnes School since 1989. I have two great grown kids, Stacy, 31, and Marc, 28. Life is good. In fact I went to the reunion in June for '66,'67,'68 classes and the attendance was sad. We, that were there, had a wonderful time but we got to thinking. Some of us were talking about having our 45th reunion in June of 2011 (Jay G., Tim C., Roz, Sue K., Joel,Jack, etc.)...but just us 1966 grads. What do you think? While many of us had a great time at the threesome reunion, it would be so much better if it was just us! I'm getting a reunion committee together again. Remember the reunion in '86? I just re-watched that reunion on a DVD (thank you Roz) and it was wonderful. If you think you're interested in attending this 45th reunion in 6/2011 let me know. After high school, I attended Ohio University and majored in architecture, and have been practicing that craft in Columbus since 1972, save for one year spent in Philadelphia. As an architect, I have worked on projects that have varied dramatically in scope, from large urban renewal projects to a humble wishing well. My primary responsibility has been as a designer, but I have also managed most of the projects in which I have been involved. The result is that I have met and awful lot of interesting people and done some things most people don't get to do . . . like climb an airport control tower or pet a rhinoceros. My last year at college, fate introduced me to a lovely, intelligent and talented young lady who, it turns out, was destined to become my wife, Elizabeth Eugenia James. We have now been married 36+ years and have three children: Simon (35), an artist and jack-of-all-trades; Isaac (34), a brick/stone mason; and Rachel (28), who is currently completing her degree in anthropology at Towson University. We also have four wonderful grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 10. (I think that grandchildren are the reward for having children!) As I wasn't the most gregarious person in high school, I'm sure that most would not recall who I am; for those who may and decide to write I promise to respond in kind.

I did ok in the business world. Travelled the world for business and pleasure taking time to dive wrecks in the Red Sea and ski the Alps. Have been to all 50 states. moved to Florida in 1987 and stayed there until retiring in 2003. Raced cars (Daytona, Sebring, etc), Raced sailboats and spent alot of my time flying. My honeymoon was a 1600 mile cruise on our sailing catamaran to by beautiful wife Karen. Have two beautiful grandkids that have a special place in my heart. Living now as a gentleman farmer with 7 dogs and assorted animals along with the usual tractor, 4 wheeler, 4x4 truck etc in our log home. Enjoying every day as it is a gift (that is why they call it the "present") would love to hear from anyone from '69.

I grew up in Fair Lawn on Mason Place. My parents moved to Florida in 1989. I miss the town alot. It was a great place to grow up. I was divorced from Mike Cahill (Bergen Catholic '69), also formerly of Fair Lawn, in June 2002 after 28 yrs. of marriage. We have 3 children. Matt is 25, married, and lives in San Diego CA. He works as an accountant for an insurance company. He graduated from The College of NJ (Trenton State) in Dec. '99. Lisa is 23 and graduated from Stockton State College in May 2001. She is an accountant with a small Accounting firm. Nick will be 21 and graduated from Scotch Plains/Fanwood High School - CLASS OF 2000. He is currently in the Navy and stationed in Upstate NY. I currently work for the Scotch Plains/Fanwood BOE as an Instructional Aide in the Pre-K where I have been for 15 years. It's a lot of fun and is keeping me young. :)

Hello old friends! As you can see, I am still situated in our old stomping ground---the High School has changed a lot, but is still a wonderful place. I have been a teacher in the district for 24 years, and still have a few to go..... My husband of 18 years is Jim Phelps (not from Mission Impossible, but clever nonetheless); I have 3 stepsons and 2 grandsons. As a family we enjoy hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and I'm a fairly good birder--lucky for me our area in Montvale is something of a bird haven. I've been teaching the offspring of former classmates for more years than I care to mention, and every football game is a mini-reunion. Living down in South Florida for the past 22 years with my wife Myrna (FLHS class of 1973 ) and my daughter Lori, 18 years old. Have been a singer/musician, working in clubs on the weekends through the years, but most recently started my own wild west entertainment group called the Wyatt Earp Gunfighters, Inc. We do wild west shootouts and wear costumes of the 1880s.We keep very busy on the weekends with my wife and daughter actively involved in my company. We travel around the state doing all sorts of shows, parades, rodeos, special events, and cruise shiplines. Any fellow grads and friends thinking of moving on down to sunny South Florida, please look me up and I'll put you in my show. Sure miss the good old days in Fair Lawn.

My territory includes NJ, NY, & PA. Used to have a gallery and framing business here in town in the late 80s and then in Westwood for a few years.
