Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner strike up a conversation at Martin's birthday party and suddenly take a romantic interest in one another. When a batch of bacteria-laden oysters sends most of the children, except Bart, to the hospital, they sneak away to Martin's playhouse, where a shocked Bart sees them kiss. The following Monday, Skinner and Krabappel overhear Bart preparing to tell his classmates about their romance. In exchange for his silence, they arrange for Milhouse to inherit Bart's permanant record. Bart becomes their go-between and exchanges their love notes. Tired of being used, he assembles his classmates and opens the janitor's closet, exposing Skinner and Krabappel locked in a passionate embrace. As word about the children's discovery spreads, the story is exaggerated, suggesting more illicit behavior between Skinner and Krabappel than simply kissing. Superintendant Chalmers gives Skinner an ultimatum: end the relationship or face dismissal. Skinner refuses, and Chalmers fires them both. Following Bart, Skinner and Krabappel lock themselves on the roof of the school with him and alert the news media. When the police arrive, they announce their demand: that the town respect and celebrate their love. After a tense standoff, the townspeople confront the couple for having sex in the closet. Skinner maintains that they never had sex, revealing that he, in fact, is still a virgin. The matter is cleared up, and Skinner and Krabappel are reinstated. |
