The Simpsons invite the Flanders, the Hibberts, the Lovejoys, and the Van Houtens to a dinner party. During the course of the evening, it becomes clear that Kirk and Luanne Van Houten's marraige is in trouble. In front of the dinner guests, Luanne announces that she wants a divorce. Homer is confident that he and Marge will never get a divorce until Kirk tells him how quickly trhings can change: one day he was eating his favorite meal with his wife and the next, thawing hot dogs in a gas station sink. When Homer arrives home, he finds frozen hot dogs thawing in the sink and realizes that he has taken his marraige for granted. Homer overcompensates by smothering Marge. When she gets fed up, he goes to the courhouse to file for divorce. That evening, he arrives home and calls Marge into the living room. He surprises her by asking her for her hand in marraige again. Reverend Lovejoy performs the ceremony as well-wishers witness their new vows. Inspired by Homer and Marge, Kirk asks Luanne if she will marry him again. She flatly refuses. |
