As an April Fool's Day prank, Homer exchanges good milk with sour milk in the refridgerator. Bart drinks the sour milk. Vowing revenge, he takes one of Homer's beers and brings it to a hardware store, where he puts it into a high-speed paint mixer before replacing it in the refridgerator. When Homer pops the can open, a violent explosion rocks the house and sends beer soaring from the sky.

Homer is rushed to the hospital and given X-rays. When the doctor notices several abnormalities, Marge reflects on some of Homer's near run-ins with death. As Homer recovers, the Simpsons reminisce about their past fiascoes.

Homer tries to get a snack from the candy machine, but it crashes down on him, and puts him into a coma. Bart reminds Homer of all the good times they had and confesses that he tampered with the exploding beer can. Suddenly Homer springs back to life, lunging at Bart and choking him.

"Life on the Fast Lane," Bart throws a baseball and hits his father in the head.

"Homer at the Bat," Homer gets hit by a pitch in the head.

"Lisa's Pony," Homer is hit in the head with a circular saw that falls off a shelf; he also falls asleep in the doors of the Kwik-E-Mart

"Itchy, Scratchy, & Marge," Maggie whacks Homer on the head with a mallet.

"There's No Disgrace Like Home," Homer and the rest of the Simpsons receive push-button shock therapy in Dr. Marvin Monroe's office.

"Bart the Daredevil," Homer glides on a skateboard down Springfield Gorge and falls short, bumping around the rocky gorge and then getting jostled again after he is in the ambulance.

"Dog of Death," The veterinarian gives up on saving a hamster and flips him through a basketball hoop into the garbage can.

"The Call of the Simpsons," Homer and Bart lost in the woods.

"Treehouse of Horror," The Simpsons are beamed onto a flying saucer.

"Itchy, Scratchy, & Marge," The "Itchy & Scratchy" short in in which Itchy hits Scratchy on the back of the head with a sledgehammer, slamming out Scratchy's eyes. Itchy puts out two bombs that Scratchy picks up. Believing them to be eyeballs, he screws them in and his head explodes.

"Life on the Fast Lane," Marge pays Homer a surprise visit in the nuclear power plant.

"Burns Verkaufen Der Kraftwerk," Homer covorts in the Land of Chocolate.

"Lisa's Pony," A drowsy Homer drives along in a Slumberland sequence complete with rolling beds.

"Dog of Death," Homer asking Burns for money for his dog's operation before he is carried away by a pair of goons.

"One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Bluefish," Lisa plays "When the Saints Go Marching In," for Homer on the sax.

"Bart's Friend Falls in Love," A red-capped Bart tries to make off with Homer's penny jar, Indiana Jones Style.

"Bart the General," Bart rolls downhill in the trashcan after he is beaten up.

"Three Men and a Comic Book," Homer checks on Bart and Milhouse in the Treehouse.

"One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Bluefish," Homer gives Bart a shaving lesson.
