OPENED 1977

Station 9 opened in 1977. Station 9 is located adjacent to Fire Administration and the Training Academy. Station 9 frequently assists with recruit training at the academy. Station 9 covers a largely residential district with some commercial buildings. Station 9 also responds second due to downtown and first due to parts of Interstate 85. Station 9 also responds to the City of Durham Waste Water Treatment plant, Fleet Services and the City Landfill.
