Chapter 7
Fortunately rush hour traffic for the most part was over, so Kevin made it out
of Orlando quickly. They made it to the cabin in just over three hours. The
caravan of vampires parked a distance from the cabin and walked the remainder of
the way. They hypnotized Raynard into thinking that they were noting more than a
bunch of trees. So that if he looked out the window he would only see stationary
trees. It was confirmed instantly that they were at the right place when they
saw Raynard’s van.
“So what’s the plan? Do you want to let Reina know that we’re here and
have her distract Raynard in some way?” Halther asked.
Kevin looked at Halther and he nodded. Kevin tried to open a connection with
Reina and he became worried when Reina didn’t respond right away. Finally a
few minutes later, Reina responded. ‘I only have a minute. Are you guys here
already?’ Reina asked.
‘Yeah we’re ready when you are. Can you distract Raynard for a few
minutes?’ Kevin asked.
‘Give me a little more time. I don’t want to get into how I got the
information on where the cabin was located, but I woke Raynard up to come to the
washroom. I’ll let you know when to make your move as soon as he is asleep
again.’ Reina said.
‘We’ll wait for your word.’ Kevin said.
***************
Reina got into bed with Raynard and took him in her arms. “Sorry I woke
you.” Reina whispered as she kissed the top of Raynard’s head.
“That’s ok. I’m better now that you’re back.” Raynard said, as he got
comfortable and let Reina rest her head on his chest. She kissed him and undid
his pants, and gave him more sexual gratification. Raynard was exhausted after
it, and went right to sleep.
Reina gave the impression that she had fallen asleep as well, but she was simply
just waiting for Raynard to enter a sleep state again. Fortunately it only took
about two minutes. ‘How do you want to do this?’ Reina asked Kevin.
‘What is the easiest way for us to get in?’ Kevin asked.
‘I unlocked the front door before I got back into bed.’ Reina replied.
‘Ok. We’re on our way in. I think Halther and the others would like to give
him a real good wake up. So we’ll let them take the lead.’ Kevin said.
‘I can hardly wait.’ Reina said.
A few minutes later, Tereth, Halther, and about five hundred other psychic
vampires were all standing in the bedroom. Kevin was the last to come in and by
that time Reina had already put shields around everyone in the room except for
Raynard. Nothing could have prepared Kevin for what he saw in that bed.
Raynard sat straight up suddenly and screamed, “AAA!”
“NICK!” Kevin bellowed. His own band mate had been the last bloodsucking
vampire and he never knew it.
“Who?” Reina asked.
“This is Nick, he’s one of my group members,” Kevin said to Reina.
“Kevin, this is Raynard, he’s two thousand years old and wants to see his
sister dead,” Tereth told him.
“Come on, outside with you,” Reina said, not wanting to expose Kevin to
Nick’s newest demise and downfall. He didn’t move an inch.
Then Raynard looked around and the room and became terrified as the vampires
surrounded him.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” Halther said.
“It’s not what it looks like.” Raynard said.
“Don’t waste your breath Raynard. You know you’re phony act won’t work
on us.” Tereth said.
“Don’t kill me.” Raynard pleaded.
“Oh we’re gonna make sure you have a slow painful death.” Reina hissed.
“You wouldn’t.” Raynard screamed. “And you can’t, and neither can
they, they’d be poisoned by my blood. And you can’t because I’m protected
against you.”
“Against my fangs, yes, against other things I may carry, no,” she said as
she brandished her knife in her hands.
Kevin looked at Reina with a questioning look on his face. “What are they
talking about?” Kevin asked.
“They’re gonna take me out of this world.” Raynard said.
“By killing him right?” Kevin asked.
“We’re going to make it so he’s human again. But trust us, it is a
suitable punishment.” Reina answered reluctantly. The fact that no one had
told him that this could be done upset Kevin; well what upset him was that it
was a friend of his.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kevin reacted exactly how Reina had predicted.
“Because it is the most painful way to kill a vampire, Kevin. We will take
away all his powers and leave him with the same needs and desires. He won’t be
able to get what he needs to survive, so he will die a slow and painful death.
It is only used as a form of punishment, Kevin,” Reina explained. “You might
want to go into the other room, Kevin. I don’t think you want to see this.”
Reina said sympathetically.
“You’re right. I don’t want to know how this is done.” Kevin said as he
left the bedroom.
Reina flashed Kevin a sympathetic look as he left the room. She knew that Kevin
was upset that this was going to happen to someone he considered a friend.
Kevin decided to sit out on the front porch. He didn’t want to hear what was
going on in the bedroom. He wanted to be angry with himself for not seeing any
signs that Nick was the bloodsucker, then he worried that he had led Nick, or
Raynard right to Reina when she was susceptible for capture. He would ask her
more questions about it later.
