Chapter 5

When Reina woke up, it was light outside. She couldn’t see Raynard, but she could sense that he was awake. She could also tell that he had gained additional strength while he was sleeping.
“Morning pet. How are you feeling this morning?” Raynard said cheerfully as he entered the room. Raynard walked in Reina’s direction and straddled her lap. Reina mumbled something. “Oh yeah, you can’t talk with that tape over your mouth, can you?” Reina shook her head. “Well then, let me remove the tape.” He removed it very gently; Reina opened her mouth to speak, but he put his fingers over her lips. “Sh, don’t say a word, I’m going to put some ointment on your lips to stop the pain.” Raynard did as he said he would and the gel he put on her mouth was cool and soothing. “Now, let’s try this again,” he said. “Morning pet. How are you feeling this morning?” Raynard said cheerfully.
“I’d be better if you untied me.” Reina said.
“Now you know I can’t do that just yet. How do I know I can trust you?” Raynard said.
“Could you at least let me up so I could wash up?” Reina asked.
“You better not try anything, Sis.” Raynard said as he reluctantly untied Reina.
“Oh come on. Read my mind Raynard. Do I plan on trying anything?” Reina said, knowing that if he tried, not only would he come across a lie in her mind, but it would drain him of energy very quickly.
“YOU KNOW THAT I CAN’T DO THAT WELL!” he bellowed at her.
In his thoughts he was thinking that he wanted to see what kind of lover she was, since he knew that she could control her ovulation, then there would be no danger of pregnancy. So, she took her cue from that, she led him to believe that she was having sexual feelings towards him. From what Reina could tell, Raynard didn’t suspect a thing.
While Reina was in the washroom, she looked out the window and all she could see was trees. She couldn’t see anything that would give away their location. “You don’t mind if I take a shower do you?” Reina asked as she peaked her head out of the bathroom.
“Don’t be long. Breakfast will be ready in about ten minutes,” Raynard replied. Ten minutes was all Reina needed; she turned the shower on and let the warm water cascade down her body. She tried to loosen her tense muscles and wished that Kevin had been there to rub her body down. While she was washing, she called out to Kevin telepathically.

Kevin was barely awake as they sat in the small police station. That was until he heard Reina calling to him. Every other vampire in the place sensed something and looked at Kevin for answers. “Give me a few minutes.” Kevin said. ‘Are you ok, Reina?’ Kevin asked.
‘Yes, I’m ok Kevin. Where are you?’ Reina asked.
‘We’re here with Greath. Remember him? And about six hundred of your closest friends from the club, they’re all pretty steamed about this little incident. We spoke to someone that saw Raynard’s van about two hours north of Orlando last night. So we’re trying to locate possible cabins. Do you have any idea how far you drove last night?’ Kevin said.
‘About four hours is my best guess, we seemed to stay on the same road for most of the way, until we turned right down a bumpy road and then down a dirt one,’ Reina replied.
‘Ok, I think that will help us out. Where is Raynard?’ Kevin asked. ‘He’s making breakfast. Right now I’m pretending that I’m sexually attracted to him,’ Reina said.
‘Yuck! He’s your brother!’ Kevin said disgusted.
‘Brother and sister vampires can mate and produce viable offspring, but since a female vampire can control her period she’s never at risk, unless she wants to be. I know, it’s really gross, but it was his idea to begin with. I’ll tell you everything once you all get here and get me out. Did you bring my knife?’ she asked.
‘Yes, of course,’ Kevin said. ‘How long do you think you can keep it up for?’ Kevin asked.
‘I can keep this up forever, or until he finds where I’ve stashed the crystal,’ she said. “And he’s weakening as we speak. I don’t think I’ll have any problems keeping this up for a while.’ Reina replied.
‘Try and get further into him mind and find out where you are, Reina. It will help us find you faster.’ Kevin said.
‘I’ll try that after breakfast. I’ll contact you later. He’s gonna be checking on me any minute now, so I better get going.’ Reina said.
‘I’m proud of you, Reina. Keep this going for just a little longer. We’ll get you out of this.’ Kevin assured Reina.
‘Is Halther there with you?’ Reina asked.
‘Yes he is. We’re gonna get you out of this.’ Kevin said.
‘I trust you Kevin.’ Reina said just before she broke all contact.
“Did you guys catch all of that?” Kevin asked Tereth and Halther.
“Yes, she’s a smart vampire.” Halther admitted.
“Yeah, she is isn’t she?” Kevin said with pride.
“Let’s continue trying to locate all the possible cabins,” Halther said.
