Who I Am and What I Believe

Okay.

This is me. (Picture a geeky, chubby, eighteen-year-old girl with glasses and curly hair.) This is me standing on a soapbox. (Picture the geeky girl waving her arms to keep her balance.)

As you can imagine, I'm not very good at this.

There are a few things I believe though, which I ought to tell you about. Otherwise you might get the wrong idea as you go in to read some of my stories. It's like false advertising or something. And I have a passionate hatred of all things gray. (Not mice, elephants, clouds, etc., just philosophical issues.)

I am a born-again Christian. I'm going to Heaven when I die, and I want all my friends to come with me. (That means you, too.) I believe in God, the Almighty Three-In-One, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I believe Jesus was born of a virign, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, and rose from the grave, thereby defeating death and making it possible for anyone to be forgiven of their sins and taken to Heaven. His righteousness covers me--it is none of my own.

I believe that the Bible is true, from cover to cover, beginning to end. There are things I do not understand, but does not mean they are not real and true. One day 'all will be revealed' (my favorite phrase) and every tongue will proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord. The question is not whether you will acknowledge God as sovereign. The question is when.

I believe that the nature of man is evil. This is not hard to prove. Just look around you. It is also getting worse. The world is groaning in pain. One day it will all be ended, burning up in a ball of flame. At that point, the chance to make your choice will be over. Make it now, and remember that you can't stay on the fence, because the Devil owns that, too.

I believe that the punishment of sin is death. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, Dark because we are descendants of the first sinners, and share their condemnation. However, death is a temporary enemy pushed into this world. Death is not a part of life. It was not here in the beginning, and in the end it will be done away with forever.

I believe that the world was created in six days, and it's about six to ten thousand years old. In the beginning the world was perfect. There was no death, no disease, no suffering, no pain, and no thorns. The representatives of the human race, Adam and Eve, chose to disobey God, and because that the world was cursed. With the Curse came all that is bad in this world. All natural badness, anyway. Demons still lend their hands and voices to the mix, trying to drag souls along to join them in their ultimate punishment.

I believe that in the time of Noah there was a flood that covered the entire earth. It lasted for almost a year. During this time every living creature and person was killed, except for those saved on the Ark. Afterwards the earth was repopulated by those survivors.

I believe that Jesus was and is God. He came to earth as a human baby to die for us. He took the curse on Himself, paying for the sins of every person, in all places and all times, including the first sinners, Adam and Eve. I believe He performed miracles showing His Godhood. I believe every word He spoke is true.

If you believe differently from me, I would LOVE to hear from you. I would love to talk to you, listen to your opinions, and respond to them. I would love to argue with you.

You will not sway from my beliefs, and I may not sway you. But if you are interested in such a discussion, please email me.

I understand that you may have questions for me, objections. You may snort and call me a fool. That's fine with me. I know that Creation, especially, is ridiculed. But it is no worse a theory than Evolution, and in fact makes a lot more sense from a scientific point of view. Here are some of the most asked questions--I'll be putting up more soon.

A great resource is Answers in Genesis. If I can't come up with an answer, they will.

Creation and Evolution FAQ:

  1. Where Did Cain Get His Wife?
  2. Isn't the World Really Old?
  3. What About Fossils?
  4. But Isn't Creation Religion, and Evolution Science?
  5. How Could All Those Animals Fit on the Ark?
  6. What About Radiometric Dating?
  7. How Can You Fit Dinosaurs Into the Bible?

And, of course, you may laugh all you like. You can talk about me as much as much as you please. I'll talk about you on my knees.

Please email me--I'd love to hear your thoughts on all this.
