At long last we are off to get Kayli! We spent the night of the 13th at a hotel near the Seattle airport. The next morning at 11:00am, we boarded a Northwest Airlines Airbus 330 for our 11-hour flight to Tokyo.

The plane was comfortable. Our kids brought books, journals, art books, and electronics to keep busy. Large LCD screens around the plane displayed constantly updated flight information. Our kids never asked once, "How much longer 'til we are there?"

It was a treat to see the snow covered mountains of Alaska. At 11:00pm Seattle time, we arrived into Tokyo. After an hour layover, we boarded another Airbus for our almost 4-hour flight to Beijing. We made William, Anna and Stephen rest for this leg of the trip.

20 hours after starting we arrived in Beijing. Grace's parents met us at the airport. They had already been in China for three weeks. Together we went by van to the Marriott Hotel Complex. It was great to stretch out on a comfortable bed!

Stephen brought along his stuffed squirrel on our trip, because he wants it to become a world traveler. We are happy to finally be in China!!
