Finally after all the headaches of motor and carburetor problems we were of to a good start. After last weeks race it came down to the carburetor being the problem. We ordered a new carburetor and prayed it would arrive before Thursdays race. After checking the delivery confirmation online it said it was ready for delivery on Monday. But somehow the mailman forgot my package. I finally received it on Wednesday when I had my dad wait all day and when he spoke to the mailman he found the package in the back of his truck. That's USPS for ya. So I did a few changes with jets, adjust the float and replace the power valve and slapped the carburetor right on. It started right up but still didn't seem right. So I took it to the track on Thursday and had the 5thdimentionracing.com crew adjust the carburetor and oh boy did the car scream. The car felt great and didn't sputter around the turns. With all the adjusting and fooling around with the motor I forgot to sign in, therefore I started dead last for qualifying. So I took it easy and finished 8th. I started 15th in the feature and managed to finish 8th after the winner got DQ'd it moved me up to 7th. Now that most of my car problems are over, I can concentrate on painting the car. So look out in the next few weeks and maybe we will turn purple again. or maybe blue..or maybe just get lazy and keep it yellow.
