  1. Marie Marguerite Vicknair, born on the German Coast, ca. 1765, married on February 22,1791 (SJB), to Louis Ory, born ca. 1763 in Maryland, son of Nicolas Ory and Cristine Michel. Louis Ory died January 19,1800 (SJB), and Marie Marguerite remarried on April 26,1802 (SJB), to Francois Roquigney, son of Francois Roquigney and Cecilia Barre. Marie Marguerite died September 10,1851 (SJB), and was the mother of five children by her first marriage.
  2. Jean Baptist Vicknair, born ca. 1768, on the German Coast, married October 14,1794 (SJB), to Marie Therese Girard, born November 10,1777 (SJB), daughter of Francois Girard and Marie Josephe Picou (Her 2nd husband was Jean Pierre Cuvillier, fils). Jean Baptist died in St. Helena Parish on December 29,1823, and was the father of at least 13 children.
  3. Antoine Vicknair, born ca. 1770, on the German Coast, married on November 20,1792 (SJB), to Magdalena Dupont, born ca. 1773, daughter of Francois Duport and Magdalena Michel. Magdalena died September 5,1793 (SJB), and Antoine remarried on May 20,1797 (SJB), to Dorothee Scholastique Cuvillier, born April 14,1781 (SJB), daughter of Jean Pierre Cuvillier and Marie Josephe Picou, and the niece of Marie Marguerite and Perine Cuvillier, who married two of Antoine's uncles. Dorothee Scholastique died August 23,1844 (SJB), and Antoine died October 19,1859 (SJB). Antoine was the father of one daughter by his first marriage, and thirteen children by his second marriage.
  4. Marie Catherine Vicknair, born ca. 1771, on the German Coast, married February 22,1791 (SJB), to Vincent Marchand, native of Catalonia, son of Jamie Marchand and Marie Vilar. Vincent died December 20,1797 (SJB), and Marie Catherine remarried February 28,1800 (SJB), to Johann Joachim Lagemann, born in Germany on May 12,1757. Marie Catherine died July 21,1810 (SJB), and Johann Joachim died November 4,1832 (SJB). Marie Catherine was the mother of four children by her first marriage, and five children by her second marriage.
  5. Veronique Vicknair, born August 30,1773 (SJB), married February 12,1793 (SJB) to Jacques Poche, born ca. 1768, son of Francois Poche and Agnes Mayer, died September 9,1814 (SMI). Veronique remarried February 11,1818 (SJB), to Jean Baptist Picou, son of Jean Baptist Picou and Marie Magdelaine Laurot, and the widower of Felicite Arceneaux. Veronique died July 27,1829 (SMI), and was the mother of nine children by her first marriage, and one son by her second marriage.
  6. Marianna Vicknair, born January 15,1776 (SJB), married February 5,1799 (SJB) to Jean Baptist Picou, born July 2,1773 (SJB), son of Urbain Picou and Marie Josephe Andreas, and first cousin of the Jean Baptist above. Jean Baptist died October 25,1814 (SJB), and Marianna remarried December 16,1817 (SJB), to Jacques Conrad, born ca. 1768, son of Phillipe Conrad and Christine Barbe Beonewirtz,and the widower of Catherine Tregre. Jacques died January 19,1823 (SJB), and Marianna died July 21,1824 (SJB). Marianna was the mother of nine children by her first marriage, and one daughter by her second marriage.
  7. Jean Jacques Vicknair, born February 22,1778 (SJB), married February 4,1799 (SJB), to Marguerite Clement, born September 25,1780 (SJB), daughter of Francois Clement and Anne Barbay. Marguerite died October 18,1827 (SJB), and Jean Jacques remarried on January 12,1829 (SJB), to Emeranthe Rodrigue, born November 24,1790 (SJB), daughter of Jean Charles Rodrigue and Pelagie Elfer. Jean Jacques died January 6,1835 (SJB), and Emeranthe died June 24,1854 (SJB).There were eleven children born of the first marriage, and three from the second marriage.
  8. Agathe Vicknair, born February 3,1780 (SJB), and her posterity is unknown.
  9. Anasthasie Vicknair, born May 28,1782 (SJB), married November 7,1808 (SJB),to Pierre Robeau, born October 23,1775 (SJB), son of Charles Robeau and Catherine Novake, and widower of Theotiste Vicknair. Pierre died October 14,1814 (SJB), and Anasthasie remarried on January 7,1818 (SJB), to George Chauff, born February 6,1790 (SJB), son of George Chauff and Marguerite Picou. George died August 20,1828 (SJB), Anasthasie died October 18,1867 (SP). Anasthasie was the mother of four children by her first marriage, and six by her second marriage.
  10. Magdelaine Celeste Vicknair, born November 4,1784 (SJB), married November 9,1808 (SJB), to her first cousin Laurent Vicknair, born October 21,1783 (SJB), son of Antoine Vicknair and Perine Cuvillier. Laurent died June 27,1844 (SJB), and Magdelaine Celeste died March 31,1865 (SP). Six children were born to this couple.
  11. Honore Michel (Justin) Vicknair, born September 25,1787 (SJB), married November 15,1808 (SJB), to Adelaide Borne, born December 10,1792 (SJB), daughter of Ambroise Borne and Marie Josefa Rodrigue. Justin died in New Orleans, LA on September 20,1862, and was buried in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. Adelaide died in Thibodaux, LA on July 3,1866. Nine children were born to this couple.

Children of Jean Baltazar Vicknair and Marie Magdelaine Triche:

  1. Marie Anne Vicknair, born December 15,1770 (SJB), married February 1,1791 (SJB), to Andre Lasseigne, born December 2,1772 (SJB), son of Leonard Lasseigne and Marie Jacobine Cretzman. Andre died September 10,1813 (SJB), and Marie Anne died May 24,1845 (SJB). Nine children were born of this union.
  2. Marie Magdelaine Vicknair, born September 14,1773 (SJB), married November 24,1789 (SJB), to Jean Jacques Borne, son of Jean Jacques Borne and Marianne Haydel. Marie Magdelaine died June 7,1860 (SJB), and was the mother of ten children.
  3. Nicolas Vicknair, born ca. 1775, married February 22,1802 (SJB), to Marie Celeste Cuvillier, born August 9,1782 (SJB), daughter of Jean Pierre Cuvillier and Marie Josephe Picou. Marie Celeste died July 24,1826 (SJB), and Nicolas died October 28,1847. Nine children were born to this couple.
  4. Rosalie Vicknair, died September 27,1777 (SJB). Her age at death was not listed, and her baptismal record has not been located.
  5. Marguerite Vicknair, born September 13,1778 (SJB), married April 12,1796 (SJB),
    Thomas Alexander, native of Naples, Italy, and son of Philippe Alessandro and Judiia Fulfer. Thomas died October 23,1813 (SJB), and Marguerite died January 8,1869 (SP). Eight children were born of this union.
  6. Jean Baptist Vicknair, born February 15,1781 (SJB), married January 1,1801 ( SJB),to Charlotte Leche, born November 2,1782 (SJB), daughter of Michel Leche and Charlotte Perilloux. Jean Baptist died August 6,1848 (SJB), and Charlotte died August 1,1865 (SJB). Thirteen children were born of this union.
  7. Philippe Vicknair, born May 1,1783 (SJB), his posterity is unknown.
  8. Genevieve Vicknair, born January 16,1786 (SJB), married October 2,1802 (SJB to Andre Madere, born January 15,1780 (SJB), son of Francois Daniel Madere and Marguerite Perilloux. Andre died April 25,1846 (SJB), and Genevieve died January 4,1862 (SJB). Nine children were born to this couple.
  9. Infant Girl Vicknair, born and died May 27,1788 (SJB).
  10. Marie Josephine Vicknair, July 25,1789 (SJB), married April 2,1807 (SJB), to
    Pierre Libeau, son of Pierre Lebeau and Marguerite Arneau. Pierre drowned in 1816, and Marie Josephine remarried on June 29,1819 (SJB), to Louis LeBon, born ca. 1779, son of Sebastien LeBon and Anne Millinet. Louis died January 28, 1823 (SJB). Marie Josephine was the mother of five children from her first marriage, and there was no issue from her second marriage.
  11. Charles Vicknair, born June 12,1792 (SJB), died August 24,1811 (SJB).

Children of Jean Nicolas Vicknair and Marie Appolonia Helffer:

  1. Marie Appolonia Vicknair, born on the German Coast ca. 1763, married Louis Lavigne, born at Mobile ca. 1749, son of Pierre Lavigne and Marie Henriette Tienne. Louis died November 1,1799 (SJB), and Marie Appolonia died in New Orleans on April 3,1829. At least five children were born of this union.
  2. Marguerite Vicknair, born on the German Coast ca. 1765, married ca. 1784 to
    Laurent Gregoire Willig, born November 10,1754 (SCB), son of Morand Willig and Dorothe Roye. Laurent died December 17,1790 (SJB), and Marguerite remarried on November 7,1793 (SJB), to Mathieu Brignac, born at Mobile ca. 1757, son of Simon Pierre Brignac and Marie Louise Fontenot, and widower of Magdalena Matherne. Marguerite was the mother of five children from her first marriage and eight children from her second marriage.
  3. Rosalie Vicknair, born on the German Coast ca. 1768, married April 29,1786 (SJB), to Henri Villar, born ca 1762, son of Jacques Villar and Catherine Schexnayder. Henri died July 9,1812 (SJA). At least eleven children were born to this couple.
  4. Jean Adam Nicolas Vicknair, born November 8,1772 (SJB), married January 4, 1800 (SJB), to Eleanor Lavigne, born July 1,1779 (SJB), daughter of Robert Lavigne and Suzanne LeRoux. Eleanor died October 12,1853 (SMI). At least eight children were born to this couple.
  5. Marie Josephe Vicknair, born March 19,1775 (SJB), married April 28,1802 (PCP), to Paul Guitreau, son of Abraham Guitreau and Catherine Buguay. Marie Josephe married a second time on March 25,1821, in St. Helena Parish to Juan Diaz, son of Bathelome Diaz and Rosalia Theresa Ramos, and the widower of Josepha Perez Hidalgo. Marie Josephe was the mother of six children by her first marriage.
  6. Ozite (Theotiste) Vicknair, born August 23,1777 (SJB), married February 6,1794 (SJB), to Joseph Lambert, born August 26,1772 (SJB), son of Pierre Lambert and Marie Doiron. Theotiste died in Livingston Parish on January 21,1857, and was buried in the French Settlement Community Cemetery. At least seven children were born to this couple.
  7. Jean Nicolas Vicknair, born August 19,1780 (SJB), married April 17,1809 (SJA),to Rosalie Picou, born November 13,1787 (SJB), daughter of Alexis Picou and Marianne Cuvillier. I have found no issue for this couple.
  8. Joseph Lionis Vicknair, born October 30,1782 (SJB), his posterity is unknown.
  9. Eleonide Vicknair, born ca. 1784, married November 25,1800 (SJA), to Louis Lobell, son of Jean Baptist Lobell and Marie Therese Fontenot. At least seven children were born to this couple.

  1. Jean Baptist Vicknair, born August 7,1773 (SJB), married May 5,1793 (SJB), to Maria Rosa Picou, born November 15,1777 (SJB), daughter of Urbain Picou and Marie Josefa Andreas. Maria Rosa died in New Orleans on March 29,1828, and was buried in St. Louis Cemetery #1, and Jean Baptist died in Ascension Parish on April 10,1830. Twelve known children were born to this couple.
  2. Marie Ortance Vicknair, born February 9,1775 (SJB), her posterity is unknown.

  1. Osita Vicknair, born January 21,1780 (SJB), her posterity is unknown.
  2. Jacques Vicknair, born March 4,1785 (SJB), his posterity is unknown.

  1. Antoine Vicknair, born April 2,1773 (PCP), married November 27,1798 (SJB), to Marguerite Agatha Deroche, born March 3,1780 (SJA), daughter of Basil Deroche and Marie Edelmeyer. Marguerite Agatha died September 13,1813 (SJB), and Antoine remarried on October 10,1816 (ASM), to Francisca Anna Evans of Fort Pitt, daughter of George Evans and Isabel Telle. Antoine died October 24,1822 (SJB). Six known children were born to this couple.
  2. Jean Adam Vicknair, born November 19,1774 (SJB), his posterity is unknown.
  3. Marie Catherine Hortense Vicknair, baptised March 23,1777 (PCP), married on November 29,1792 (SJB), to Francois Dupont, born ca. 1767, son of Francois Dupont and Magdalena Michel. Francois died October 8,1827 (SJT), in Lafourch Parish, and his widow died there on November 28,1832 (SJT). At least four children were born to this couple.
  4. Theotiste Vicknair, born December 12,1782 (SJB), married April 22,1799 (SJB to Pierre Robeau, born October 23, 1775 (SJB), son of Charles Robeau and Catherine Novake. Theotiste died May 3,1804 (SJB), and Pierre remarried her first cousin Anasthasie Vicknair. Pierre died October 14,1814 (SJB). There were no children by Pierre's first marriage, and four by his second marriage.
  5. Laurent Vicknair, born October 21,1783 (SJB), married November 9,1808 (SJB) to his first cousin, Magdelaine Celeste Vicknair, born November 4,1784 (SJB), daughter of Jean Adam Vicknair and Anne Marie Tregre. Laurent died June 27, 1844 (SJB), and his widow died March 31,1865 (SP). At least six children were born to this couple.
  6. Leon Pierre Vicknair, born November 9,1785 (SJB), married February 9,1801 (SJB), to Catherine Risse, born August 30,1788 (SJB), daughter of Henry Risse and Eve Jacob. Leon Pierre died September 21,1853 (SJB), and Catherine died January 23,1867 (SP). They were the parents of eight children.
  7. Victoire Vicknair, born July 4,1787 (SJB), married November 4,1805 (SJB), to Urbain Tregre, born May 1,1787 (SJB), son of Jean Tregre and Marie Josefa Picou. Urbain died October 4,1822 (SJB), and Victoire remarried on December 27,1823 (SJB), to Pierre Bertrand. I have found no issue by either marriage.
  8. Joseph Vicknair, born January 4,1789 (SJB), married January 31,1809 (SJB), to Marguerite Tregre, born October 9,1789 (SJB), daughter of Theodore Tregre and Celeste Picou. Marguerite died July 6,1825 (SJB), and Joseph died July 7, 1833 (SJB). Three children were born to this couple.
  9. Michel Vicknair, born December 10,1789 (SJB), died May 13,1790 (SJB).
  10. Celestin Vicknair, born April 18,1791 (SJB), married February 10,1812 (SJB), to Catherine Marchand, born January 20,1796 (SJB), daughter of Vincent Marchand and Marie Catherine Vicknair. Celestin died February 2,1817 (SJB), and his widow remarried on February 16,1819 (SJB), to Charles Gueret, born ca. 1780, son of Philippe Gueret and N. Breuil. Celestin was the father of three children.
  11. Veronique Vicknair, born March 1,1793 (SJB), her posterity is unknown.
  12. Eugenie Vicknair, born February 18,1794 (SJB), married February 19,1812 (SJB), to Jean Baptist Marchand, born March 24, 1794 (SJB), son of Vincent Marchand and Marie Catherine Vicknair. JeanBaptist and his family moved to Ascension Parish, and he died there.
  13. Jean Louis Vicknair, born November 6,1796 (SJB), died June 15,1820 (SJB).

  2. Augustine (Justine) Normand, born on the German Coast, ca. 1770, married to Andre Dupuis, son of Francois Dupuis and Perine Champagne. Nine children were born to this couple.
  3. Marguerite Normand, born September 9,1772 (SJB), her posterity is unknown.
  4. Pierre Normand, born December 18,1774 (SJB), married Marie Joffrion, born January 20,1782 in Avoyelles Parish, daughter of Joseph Joffrion and Marie Francoise Bouchard. One son was born to this couple.
  5. Marguerite Normand, born ca. 1777 (SJB), her posterity is unknown.
  6. Laurent Normand, born May 5,1780 (SJB), married Gertrude Couvillion, born August 3,1785, daughter of Amable Adrien Couvillion and Marie Anne Pourciau. Laurent died ca. October 1,1842 in Hydropolis, LA, and Gertrude died March 17,1848. Seven children were born to this couple.
  7. Jean Pierre Normand, born ca. 1783, married Marguerite Marcotte, daughter of Jean Baptist Marcotte and Marguerite Tregre. Twelve children were born of this union.
  8. Jean Baptist Normand, born October 3,1791 (SLC), was buried July 16,1803 in Hydropolis, LA.
