Where to Begin

It's important to get the correct start, regardless of which path of paganism you eventually end up on. As you study and grow, you'll find more and more paths opening up to you. (1) Your first stop should be the Wiccan page and visit other pages and read about Paganism, witchcraft, shamanism, druidism or whatever you can find. Discover what you're interested in, it may be a combination of things.

(2) Next stop should be the Laws and Guidelines and study them. Start living by them everyday, following these laws and make them apart of your life forever. Keep in mind the Wicca isn't something that you do, it's something you are. (Although in the beginning you have to do, in order to become.) If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be serious, it doesn't happen overnight. It can take years before the laws become second nature.

(3) As your practicing living the laws, check out the Essentials and begin collecting the tools you may require in the future. It can take a long time to acquire your tools. Just any old knife won't do. It has to appeal to you and feel right in your hand. It's always a good idea to build up a stock of stones, candles, and herbs, when you run across a source. You never know when you may need them.

(4) Some choose to have a Magical name (By Rhian). to signify their spiritual rebirth and new life within the Wicca Craft. It is optional.

(5) Begin a Book of Shadows, and if you choose, also begin a Mirror Book.

(6) Practice exercises, in meditation, visualization and any other techniques that interest you.

(7) Learn about the Sabbats, their history and rituals. Begin celebrating Sabbats with simple rituals.

(8) Study the art of Magick. Study does not mean perform. It means Study. Know what it is, what it means, how to perform it correctly. You can not perform responsible Magic untill you understand exactly what Magick is all about.

(9) When you have mastered all of the above, begin practicing simple spells and rituals, reviewing performing basic magickFIRST!
