Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Brianna Wilkins, 5-7 So. Tahri Ralston, 5-8 Fr. Cardin Sickles, 5-4 Jr. Amirah “Tootie” Jordan, and 5-8 So. Riley Gilvin. Paul VI coach Scott Allen countered with 6-0 Jr. Lyla Ames, 5-10 Sr. Sravya Junopati, 6-1 Sr. Demi Gilliam, 5-8 So. Alice Allen, and 5-9 Jr. Sabrina Eldredge.
Paul VI led18-5 after the first quarter on their way to a 44-38 victory over Sacred Heart Academy. Sacred Heart trailed 29-28 after three quarters but the Panthers pulled away in the final quarter for the victory. There were three lead changes and one tie in this game. Paul VI shot 32.1% from the field including two of 18 from the three point line. The Panthers connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 Sacred Heart turnovers. Sacred Heart shot 31.3% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc. The Valkyries connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 21 Paul VI turnovers.
Demi Gilliam led Paul VI with 13 points, 19 rebounds, and two steals. 5-9 So. Annabelle Muldoon added 10 points. Sabrina Eldredge recorded six points and two rebounds. Lyla Ames chipped in with six points, two rebounds, and three steals.
Brianna Wilkins led Sacred heart Academy with 17 points including four of six free throws, six rebounds, and two steals. Tootie Jordan added 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Tahri Ralston recorded six points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots. Riley Gilvin pulled down eight rebounds and recorded two steals.
