Parker McKinney threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns and the defense forced three turnovers to lead Eastern Kentucky University to a 37-14 victory over The Citadel.  Eastern Kentucky recorded 21 first downs and 428 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized six times for 36 yards.  The Citadel recorded 25 first downs and 383 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 52 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Alonzo Booth led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 91 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Parker McKinney carried the ball 13 times for 57 yards.  Parker McKinney completed 16 of 26 passes for 274 yards and four touchdowns.  Keyion Dixon caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Jacquez Jones added three receptions for 70 yards and three touchdowns.  Jackson Beerman caught two passes for 84 yards.  Davion Ross returned three kickoffs for 63 yards with a long return of 30 yards.  Matthew Jackson led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 24 yards and recovered a fumble.  Daulson Fitzpatrick added four solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 31 yards.  Kaleb Lundy recorded three solo and four assisted tackles and Shane Burks II recovered a fumble.

Emeka Nwanze led The Citadel’s ground game with 114 yards on 22 carries.  Keefe White carried the ball nine times for 89 yards.  Brandon Rainey recorded 70 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  Brandon Rainey completed two of nine passes for 36 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Raleigh Webb caught one bass for 28 yards and a touchdown.  Matt Campbell punted three times for a 43.7 average with a long punt of 54 yards and one punt inside the 20 yard line.  Jaylan Adams returned two kickoffs for 47 yards with a long return of 35 yards.  Willie Eubanks III led the defense with four solo and 10 assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 19 yards.  Anthony Britton Jr. added four solo and seven assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.

DeSales’ defense forced four turnovers and scored two touchdowns in a 36-13 victory over Henry County.  DeSales raced out to a 36-0 first quarter lead and was never threatened as Henry County scored two touchdowns late to get on the scoreboard.  DeSales recorded five first downs and 184 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized four times for 20 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Henry County recorded 13 first downs and 220 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 21 yards, lost a fumble, and had three passes intercepted.

James Johnson led DeSales ground game with 94 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.  Jayden Scroggin completed two of two passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.  Caleb Winebrenner caught one pass for 50 yards and a touchdown.  Chase O’Neil scored on a 27 yard fumble recovery and on a 35 yard interception return.  Brett Waters intercepted a pass he returned 29 yards and Alex Liebert also intercepted a pass.

Anthony Bates led Henry County’s ground game with 60 yards and a touchdown on 13 yards.  Sam Royalty carried the ball eight times for 20 yards.  Sam Royalty completed 14 of 24 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.  Blake Cole caught four passes for 77 yards.  Kevin Wix added four receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Cole returned two kickoffs for 41 yards.  Kevin Wix intercepted a pass.

Covington Catholic shut out Cooper tonight by the score of 41-0.  QB Caleb Jacob came up big tonight with three touchdowns passes and added two touchdowns on the ground.  Covington Catholic recorded 21 first downs and 395 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized once for five yards.  Cooper recorded nine first downs and 97 yards of total offense.  The Jaguars were not penalized but had two passes intercepted.

Owen Nally led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 56 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Caleb Jacob carried the ball seven times for 51 yards and two touchdowns.  Caleb Jacob completed 17 of 23 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns.  Ethan Reardon caught six passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns.  Ryan Schneider added four receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown.  Garrett Benke caught two passes for 42 yards.  Ben Dickhaus led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.  Nick Darpel added four solo tackles.  Luke Stegman recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses.  Jacob Danneman and Tad Drees each intercepted a pass.

Chester Hale led Cooper’s ground game with 34 yards on three carries.  Eric Wright carried the ball five times for 28 yards.  Brendon Tye recorded 24 yards on seven carries.  Eli White completed four of 15 passes for 35 yards with two interceptions.  Jake Harmeyer and Alex Turner each caught one pass for 11 yards.  Eric Wright returned two kickoffs for 64 yards with a long return of 40 yards.  Jeremiah Lee returned two kickoffs for 54 yards with a long return of 30 yards.  Jake Harmeyer led the defense with four solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Chester Hale added five solo and nine assisted tackles.  Eric Wright recorded four solo and nine assisted tackles.

Johnson Central utilized their talented offensive line and their stable of capable running backs to defeat Simon Kenton by the score of 47-17.  Johnson Central recorded 27 first downs and 533 yards of total offense including 491 yards on 52 rushing attempts.  The Golden Eagles were penalized five times for 55 yards and lost two fumbles.  Simon Kenton recorded 16 first downs and 218 yards of total offense.  The Pioneers were penalized three times for 35 yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.

Dillon Preston led Johnson Central’s ground game with 153 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Mason Lawson carries the ball 12 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns.  Chase Price recorded 99 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Matt Crum chipped in with 42 yards on six carries.  Grant Rice completed three of four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.  Mason Lawson caught one pass for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Jacob Cain intercepted a pass for the Golden Eagles. 

Jayden Lawson led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 46 yards on 11 carries.  Chase Crone carried the ball 15 times for 36 yards.  Marcus Courtney added one rushing attempt for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Chase Crone completed 14 of 32 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Trey Little caught three passes for 40 yards.  Marcus Courtney added five receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown.  Caleb Livers added three receptions for 26 yards.  Nate Walker led the defense with six solo tackles.  Brennon Miller added six solo and three assisted tackles.  Joe Vormbrock and Chase Gill each recovered a fumble.

Lexington Christian Academy raced out to a 38-0 halftime lead on their way to a 45-7 victory over Williamsburg.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 18 first downs and 476 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized eight times for 80 yards and lost a fumble.  Williamsburg recorded 10 first downs and 129 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for 15 yards.

Tyler Morris led LCA’s ground game with 62 yards and a touchdown on two carries.  Jeffrey Selby carried the ball five times for 46 yards.  Drew Nieves added 45 yards on two carries.  Parker Chaney and Xavier Brown each scored a rushing touchdown.  Drew Nieves completed 11 of 18 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns.  Xavier Brown caught two passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.  Elijah Hammond added three receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Will Vernon recorded four receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown.  Parker Chaney returns one kickoff for 79 yards.  Mattie Lebryk led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.  Jefrey Selby added four solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.

Marty Gilley led Williamsburg’s ground game with 22 yards on seven carries.  Sydney Bowen completed 10 of 24 passes for 100 yards.  Gavon Thomas caught five passes for 66 yards.  Javon Powell added two receptions for 20 yards.  Gavon Thomas returned three kickoffs for 86 yards.  Javon Powell led the defense with four solo tackles.  Bronston Bates added one solo and five assisted tackles.

Dixie Heights utilized a solid ground game and an opportunistic defense to defeat Madison Central by the score of 26-14 to earn their first victory of the season.  It was a game of “what ifs” for Madison Central as the first break came when Dixie Heights speedy defensive back Kel Hawkins picked off a Canon Scenters pass and raced 77 yards to give Dixie Heights a 12-0 lead.  Scenters suffered an injury and left the game in the first half and was unable to return.  Later in the game Madison Central’s Jayden West intercepted a pass and raced 85 yards to the end zone but the TD was negated by a penalty against the Indians.  Backup QB Nathan Storie scored two touchdowns to keep the Indians in the game but Dixie Heights scored a late touchdown to put the game out of reach.  Dixie Heights recorded 19 first downs and 262 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized nine times for 66 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Madison Central recorded 10 first downs and 159 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized six times for 40 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Bryan Station dominated tonight in a 41-0 shut out victory over Lafayette.  Bryan Station recorded 21 first downs and 349 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized once for five yards and had one pass intercepted.  Lafayette recorded six first downs and 103 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized three times for 25 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Joseph Bond led Bryan Station’s ground game with 78 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.  Amodeus Taylor carried the ball 10 times for 75 yards and a touchdown.  Caden Richardson added 40 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Terik Mulder completed eight of 14 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Carl Mundford caught five passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.  Damin Green caught one pass for 26 yards.  Asa Tyler led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 20 yards.  Amodeus Taylor added four solo and one assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 15 yards.  Yedide Yah Sledge recorded two solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Giovanni Watson scored on a 12 yard fumble recovery and Kenguruka Promes also recovered a fumble.  Damin Green scored on a 65 yard interception return.  Isaiah Watts also recorded an interception.

JaeWon Kendrick led Lafayette’s ground game with 13 yards on six carries.  Noah Chapman carries the ball eight times for 13 yards.  Tanner Pace completed five of 10 passes for 96 yards with one interception.  Hayden Dawahare completed four of eight passes for 19 with one interception.  Darreon Stewart caught four passes for 17 yards.  Noah King added two receptions for 31 yards.  JaeWon Kendrick caught one pass for 37 yards.  JaeWon Kendrick returned four kickoffs for 102 yards with a long return of 49 yards.  Donovan Jackson led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Mike Taylor added three solo and five assisted tackles.  Ruben Garcia recorded two solo and six assisted tackles.  Torri Turner added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  Caleb Bryant intercepted a pass.

Scott County pulled away in the second half to defeat George Rogers Clark by the score of 42-14.  Scott County recorded 18 first downs and 324 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 60 yards.  George Rogers Clark recorded 14 first downs and 234 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized five times for 31 yards and had one pass intercepted.

Montago Jones led Scott County’s ground game with 140 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.  Campton Martin carried the ball 12 times for 100 yards and three touchdowns.  Jeremy Hamilton recorded 50 yards on nine carries.  Hayden Jones scored on a 14 yard run.  Zane Patton completed three of four passes for 17 yards.  Paul Garner caught two passes for 11 yards.  AJ Young led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Elijah Adams added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Andrew Wilhite recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Campton Martin intercepted a pass he returned 32 yards.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 37-0 lead after the first quarter on their way to a 44-13 victory over Tates Creek.  Lexington Catholic recorded 18 first downs and 398 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized eight times for 79 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Tates Creek recorded 11 first downs and 239 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized twice for 10 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Darin Eldridge led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 69 yards on six carries.  Jack Gohmann completed 10 of 12 passes for 202 yards and five touchdowns.  Josh Brownell completed four of seven passes for 50 yards with one interception.  Jack Monday caught three passes for 38 yards.  Blake Busson added two receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.  Jackson Corbett recorded two receptions for 35 yards and two touchdowns.  JD Woodall and Gavin Klein caught touchdown passes of 48 and 15 yards respectively.  Hunter Foster and JD Woodall returned kickoffs of 21 and 19 yards respectively.  Walker Hall led the defense with five solo tackles.  Mafuts Kimwanga added two solo and one assisted  tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  Jack Malley recorded two solo tackles, intercepted a pass, and scored on a 28 yard blocked field goal return.  Pearce Hall also intercepted a pass.

Aaron Klein led Tates Creek’s ground game with 24 yards on four carries.  Matt Underwood carried the ball three times for 22 yards and a touchdown.  Aaron Klein completed 11 of 18 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Ke’Shon Douthitt caught four passes for 95 yards and a touchdown.  Amarjae Mitchell added two receptions for 27 yards.  Matthew Underwood returned five kickoffs for 87 yards.  JT Acosta led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Mugisa Dhemani added five solo tackles.  Kobe Middleton intercepted a pass he returned nine yards.

Pikeville defeated Henry Clay 58-41 in an offensive shoot out in which the two teams combined for 99 points, 43 first downs and 1105 yards of total offense.  It also featured a record setting performance by Pikeville’s Zac Lockhart who caught 17 passes for 388 yards and seven touchdowns.  QB Isaac McNamee threw touchdown passes of 55, 56, 26, 17, 8, 13, and 54 yards.  Pikeville recorded 29 first downs and 692 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized five times for 60 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Henry Clay recorded 14 first downs and 413 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized five times for 55 yards and lost two fumbles.  Henry Clay put up a battle against defending state champion Pikeville and led 28-25 early in the third quarter but Pikeville scored three straight touchdowns to take a 45-28 lead mid way through the final quarter.

Blake Birchfield led Pikeville’s ground game with 133 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Nate Collins carried the ball 13 times for 126 yards and a touchdown.  Isaac McNamee completed 23 of 32 passes for 419 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception.  Zac Lockhart caught 17 passes for 388 yards and seven touchdowns.  Trey Hancock punted twice for a 42.0 average with a long punt of 56 yards.  Zac Lockhart returned two kickoffs for 47 yards.  Barrett Caudill led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles.  Nate Collins added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a loss of three yards.  Landon Hammock recorded two solo tackles with his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Luke Ray and the team was each credited with a fumble recovery.

William Webb led Henry Clay’s ground game with 150 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Darik Holman carried the ball two times for 65 yards and a touchdown.  Blake VanHorn completed nine of 15 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns.  Darik Holman caught two passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Kasen Parks added two receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Kasen Parks returned three kickoffs for 48 yards.  Andrew Asalon added three kickoff returns for 74 yards.  Darik Holman returned one kickoff for 42 yards.  Maddox Smith led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  William Webb added six solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Clay Momeyer recorded four solo and four assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.  Kasen Parks intercepted a pass.
