Henry Clay narrowed the gap to eight points; 28-20 with 5:18 left in the game but Scott County scored two touchdowns to ensure a 42-18 victory.  Scott County recorded 24 first downs and 462 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 46 yards and lost a fumble.  Henry Clay recorded 12 first downs and 338 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized three times for 15 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Austin Barnett led Scott County’s ground game with 178 yards on 31 carries.  Brice Fryman carried the ball 15 times for 104 yards and three touchdowns.  Josh Davis recorded 20 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Josh Davis completed five of seven passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns.  Glenn Covington caught three passes for 68 yards and one touchdown.  Brice Fryman added one reception for 56 yards and a touchdown.  Brice Fryman returned two kickoffs for 40 yards with a long return of 29 yards.  Berk Watts led the defense with seven solo tackles.  Cooper Robb and Nick Lolli each recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.  Glenn Covington intercepted a pass and Bronson Brown recovered a fumble.

Isaiah Adkins led Henry Clay’s ground game with 40 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Darrin Van Horn completed 14 of 31 passes for 251 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Tyree Clarke caught four passes for 72 yards.  Zac Berezewitz added three receptions for 94 yards.  Michael McMullen caught two passes for 31 yards and a touchdown.  Ramond Jackson led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards.  Langston Jackson added eight solo and one assisted tackles.  Jordan Kimball recorded three solo tackles and scored on a 55 yard fumble recovery.

Lexington Christian Academy rolled up 449 yards of total offense in a 42-12 victory over Prestonsburg.  LCA recorded 25 first downs and 449 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized eight times for 65 yards and lost two fumbles.  Prestonsburg recorded 12 first downs and 211 yards of total offense.  The Blackcats were penalized nine times for 90 yards, lost one fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Dillon Wheatley led LCA’s ground game with 211 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries.  Josh McClurg subbing for injured QB Logan Nieves carried the ball nine times for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Josh McClurg completed 12 of 20 passes for 180 and one touchdown.  Drayden Burton caught three passes for 63 yards.  Ryan Stucky added two receptions for 34 yards.  Blane Hardin caught two passes for 31 yards.  Dillon Wheatley caught a 17 yard touchdown pass.  Jed Green led the defense with five solo and seven assisted tackles.  Blane Hardin added four solo and six assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses.  Kaleb Bolton recorded five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.  Andrew Huff and Caelen Lebryk each intercepted a pass.

Ethan Varney led Prestonsburg’s ground game with 50 yards on 15 carries.  Drake Nunnery carried the ball 16 times for 46 yards and a touchdown.  Drake Nunnery completed seven of 16 passes for 91 yards with one interception.  Tyler Adkins caught two passes for 43 yards.  Tyler Martin added one reception for 31 yards.  Ethan Varney returned three kickoffs for 70 yards.  Ethan Varney led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.  Greg Powell added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Tyler Martin recorded three solo and four assisted tackles.

Garrard County led 16-13 at halftime but Lexington Catholic rallied to earn a 56-16 victory.  The wheels came off for Garrard County in the third quarter as Lexington Catholic scored 35 unanswered points.  Lexington Catholic scored on five consecutive possessions in the quarter.  The Knights took the opening kickoff in the third quarter and went 68 yards on four plays to score.  LexCath kicked off and Garrard County failed to cover the kickoff and Lexington Catholic recovered on the Garrard County 23 yard line and scored four plays later.  Garrard County was intercepted on their next possession and the Knights went eight yards on one play to add another touchdown.  Garrard County fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Lexington Catholic recovered and added another touchdown going 29 yards on three plays.  Lexington Catholic scored the fifth touchdown of the quarter on a three play drive that covered 56 yards to give Lexington Catholic a 49-16 lead after three quarters.

Lexington Catholic recorded 13 first downs and 461 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized three times for 45 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Garrard County recorded 20 first downs and 373 yards of total offense.  The Golden Lions were penalized four times for 55 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Garrard County held a 73-37 advantage in offensive plays and a 37:35-10:25 advantage in possession time.

Keith Brinkman led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 64 yards and a touchdown on one carry.  Dameon Jones carried the ball 10 times for 46 yards and a touchdown.  Beau Allen completed 14 of 23 passes for 351 yards and six touchdowns with one interception.  Dameon Jones caught three passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.  Luke Powell added three receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown.  Trenton Neuer caught three passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.  Nathan Schnurr added three receptions for 31 yards and two touchdowns.  Gavin Cameron added a 16 yard scoring reception.  Clay Callahan led the defense with eight solo and seven assisted tackles.  Henry Holthaus added six solo and two assisted tackles.  Kevin Brown recorded five solo and four assisted tackles.  Jackson Smith, a rangy Soph. LB has come on late and continues to impress as he recorded four solo and three assisted tackles.  Carson Brownell intercepted a pass he returned 35 yards and Keith Brinkman recovered a fumble.

Josh Warren led Garrard County’s ground game with 179 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries.  D. Pennington carried the ball 11 times for 60 yards.  Connor Isaacs completed three of six passes for 57 yards with one interception.  Trayce Poynter caught two passes for 53 yards.  Anthony Justus led the defense with four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Willie Rader and Sammy Smith each recorded two solo and one assisted tackles.

Davis & Elkins coach Jason Asbell started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Kali Wilburn, 5-9 Sr. Alicia Roth, 5-11 Sr. Sydney Turner, 5-6 So. Jay Kilpatrick, and 5-6 Sr. Aliyah Dukes.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 6-2 Jr. Madison Pierce, 5-7 Fr. Emely Rosario, and 5-8 So. Shay Solomon.

 

Eastern Kentucky trailed 29-28 at halftime but outscored Davis & Elkins 24-9 in the third quarter on their way to a 67-54 victory.  The score was tied seven times and there were nine lead changes in the game.  Eastern Kentucky shot 39.1% from the field including eight of 24 from the three point line.  The Colonels were five of 10 from the free throw line, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 21 Davis & Elkins turnovers.  They also held a 25-15 advantage in bench scoring.  Davis & Elkins shot 26.9% from the field including eight of 32 from beyond the arc.  The Senators were 18 of 22 from the free throw line, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Bria Bass led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points.  6-3 Sr. Madison Wood added 12 points and five rebounds.  Abby Wright chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.  Shay Solomon added eight points and six rebounds and 5-5 Fr. J’Lyn Martin came off the bench to also record eight points and six rebounds.  Emely Rosario dished out eight assists.

 

Aliyah Dukes led Davis & Elkins with 13 points with 13 points including three three point baskets before exiting the game with an injury.  Kali Wilburn added 12 points on 12 of 14 free throws and eight rebounds.  Sydney Turner chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.  5-8 Fr. Sydney Snyder added nine points on three three point baskets.

Georgetown coach Chris Briggs started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Jacob Conway, 6-2 Sr. Shadell Millinghaus, 6-5 Sr. Quan Poindexter, 5-11 Sr. Darion Burns, and 5-11 Sr. Trent Gilbert.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Zach Charles, 6-5 Fr. Peyton Broughton, 6-9 Jr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 So. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-4 Fr. Dedric Boyd.

 

Georgetown led early in the game but Eastern Kentucky’s depth and advantage on the boards allowed the Colonels to earn a 91-69 victory.  Eastern Kentucky shot 51.6% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line.  The Colonels were 20 of 27 from the free throw line, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Georgetown turnovers.  The Colonels held an 18-9 advantage in second chance points and a 26-12 advantage in bench scoring.  Georgetown shot 42.9% from the field including seven of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers were 14 of 21 from the free throw line, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 19 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, one blocked shots, and two steals.  Mayo was seven of 10 from the field and four of five from the free throw line.  Dedric Boyd also scored 18 points including two three point baskets.  Zach Charles recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.  Peyton Broughton added 12 points.  6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman recorded eight points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots and 6-2 Fr. JacQuess Hobbs chipped in with seven points and nine assists.

 

Shadell Millinghaus led Georgetown with 20 points including four three point baskets and three steals.  Quan Poindexter and Jacob Conway added 11 points each.  6-4 Jr. Troy Steward chipped in with 10 points.  Darion Burns added nine points and five rebounds.

Eastern Kentucky lost a heart breaker 23-20 in overtime.  Eastern Kentucky took a 20-13 lead on a Daryl McCleskey five yard run and extra point by Lucas Williams with 37 seconds left in regulation.  Eastern Illinois stormed back and tied the game on a A. Hollins 26 yard pass from Scotty Gilkey and a Matt Severino conversion kick with two seconds remaining on the clock.  The final drive covered 67 yards on four plays.  Eastern Illinois’ Matt Severino kicked a 45 yard field goal in overtime to give the Panthers a 23-20 lead and B. Dewberry intercepted a Tim Boyle pass to ensure the victory.

Eastern Illinois recorded 14 first downs and 322 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized three times for 20 yards and lost two fumbles.  Eastern Kentucky recorded 14 first downs and 280 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized five times for 38 yards and had two passes intercepted. 

Isaiah Johnson led Eastern Illinois’ ground game with 51 yards on 13 carries.  Scotty Gilkey carried the ball 23 times for 34 yards and a touchdown.  Scotty Gilkey completed 12 of 20 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown.  Aaron Gooch caught five passes for 53 yards.  A. Hollins added four receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown.  Dy Johnson led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Mark Williams added four solo and two assisted tackles.  B. Dewberry recorded five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss and intercepted two passes.  Xzavier Shugars added five solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards.

Daryl McCleskey led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 70 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.  Tim Boyle completed 21 of 33 passes for 216 yards with two interceptions.  Ryan Markush caught five passes for 75 yards.  Neiko Creamer added four passes for 40 yards.  Keith Wrzuszczak punted seven times for a 36.9 average with a long punt of 49 yards with five punts inside the 20 yard line.  Kobie Grace led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in tackles totaling six yards.  Gavin Bryant added six solo and three assisted tackles.  Buck Solomon recorded five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  DJ White recovered a fumble.

DeSales dominated play tonight rolling up 337 yards of total offense while holding Gallatin County to a -50 yards total offense in a 48-0 victory.  DeSales recorded 16 first downs and 337 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized twice for 20 yards and lost two fumbles.  Gallatin County recorded one first down and -50 yards of total offense.  The Wildcats were penalized twice for 25 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Jordan Watkins led DeSales ground game with 101 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.  Chase Pfaadt carried the ball nine times for 75 yards and two touchdowns.  Dar. Hollenkamp added 51 yards on five carries.  Antion Johnson completed two of three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown.  Ryan O’Shea caught an eight yard touchdown pass.  Omari Milligan scored on a five yard blocked punt return and Demetri Scott scored on a two yard fumble recovery.  Omari Milligan led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 25 yards.  Justin Ngo added four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  Ronni Standard also recovered a fumble and Shawn Kaufman intercepted a pass.

Jeffrey Bowling led Gallatin County’s ground game with one carry for two yards.  Gallatin County was zero of 14 in the passing department with one interception.  Matthew Young returned six kickoffs for 82 yards with a long return of 19 yards.  Jeffrey Bowling led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Danny Hudepohl added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Jaymee Hale recovered a fumble.

Covington Catholic raced out to a 42-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 56-14 victory over Bullitt East.  Covington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 496 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized three times for 45 yards and lost a fumble.  Bullitt East recorded nine first downs and 161 yards of total offense.  The Chargers were penalized once for five yards, lost fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

C. McGinness led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 172 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries.  T. Reusch carried the ball three times for 41 yards.  O. Nally recorded 40 yards on five carries.  AJ Mayer completed six of seven passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns.  D. Summe caught one pass for 54 yards and a touchdown.  M. Mayer added one reception for 45 yards and a touchdown.  J. Shriver caught a five yard touchdown pass.  S. Harmon led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  K. Butler and D. Felix each recorded three solo tackles.  N. Koenig recovered a fumble and A. Schneider intercepted a pass.

T. Hawkins led Bullitt East’s ground game with 59 yards on 14 carries.  D. Mantell carried the ball 12 times for 56 yards and two touchdowns.  DJ Chappell carried the ball eight times for 40 yards.  DJ Chappell completed one of 3 passes for -3 yards.  Z. Stevens caught one pass for -3 yards.  M. Gauthier returned four kickoffs for 60 yards with a long return of 17 yards.  M. Huff returned six kickoffs for 94 yards including a long return of 23 yards.  D. Mantell led the defense with five solo tackles.  J. Thompson added three solo and one assisted tackles.  J. Martin, J. Lexington Christian Academy defeated Leslie County by a score of 48-0.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 29 first downs and 451 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized six times for 65 yards and lost a fumble.  Leslie County recorded five first downs and 99 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 25 yards, lost two fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.

Dillon Wheatley led LCA’s ground game with 198 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries.  Logan Nieves carried the ball nine times for 55 yards.  Josh McClurg completed five of nine passes for 57 yards and two touchdowns.  Logan Nieves completed four of seven passes for 62 yards.  Drayden Burton caught three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.  Caelen Lebryk added two receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Caelen Lebryk returned one punt for 18 yards.  Blane Hardin led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles including three tackles for losses.  Jed Green added three solo and six assisted tackles including four tackles for losses.  Jonathan Kaufmann and Caelen Lebryk each intercepted a pass.
