Christian Academy of Louisville defeated Pikeville by a score of 16-12.  Christian Academy of Louisville scored their winning touchdown with 5:04 to go in the game on an eight yard pass from A. Sabatino to J. Sutherland and a two point conversion pass from Grant Russell to Sabatino.  The drive started on a hotly debated play.  P. Boyd-Blair had a 2nd and 9 from the CAL 45.  P. Boyd-Blair then threw what several thought was a pass that was tipped at the line but it was ruled a lateral and fumble and Grant Russell recovered and raced to the Pikeville 3 yard line but a penalty moved the ball to the Pikeville 13.  Four plays later CAL scored to take a 16-6 lead.  The disputed play was very close and even though I was watching the play with binoculars I still was not sure where it was a pass or a run.

CAL recorded three first downs and 47 yards of total offense.  The Centurions were penalized seven times for 50 yards.  Pikeville recorded 13 first downs and 151 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 20 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

A. Sabatino led CAL’s ground game with 11 yards on six carries.  Grant Russell completed three of four passes for seven yards.  A. Sabatino completed his only pass for eight yards and a touchdown.  J. Sutherland caught an eight yard touchdown pass.  Austin Coleman led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles with one of his losses resulting in a six yard loss.  Jake Taylor added four solo and five assisted tackles.  A. Sabatino recorded three solo and two assisted tackles and scored on a 21 yard interception return.  John Young added three solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 38 yards.  J. Sutherland intercepted a pass and Grant Russell recovered a fumble that he returned 38 yards.

Jackson Hensley led Pikeville’s ground game with 73 yards on 15 carries.  Grayson Harris carried the ball nine times for 29 yards.  P. Boyd-Blair completed six of 10 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Jackson Hensley caught three passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.  Grayson Harris led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles.  Jackson also recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Eric Green recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.
