Oldham County 55  Princeton (OH) 52 – 6-2 Sr. Jacob Kopp led Oldham County with 19 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and six assists.  5-10 Sr. Sam Gruber and 6-1 Sr. Anthony Lape added 14 and 12 points respectively.  6-3 Sr. Darius Hilson led Princeton with 20 points.  5-8 Sr. Dorian Jordan added 13 points and nine assists.

 

Simon Kenton 70  Perry County Central 63 – 6-1 Sr. Riley Barnes led Simon Kenton with 22 points including 10 of 10 from the free throw line.  5-10 Sr. Andrew Sampson added 16 points.  6-7 Sr. Dalton Cornett led Perry County Central with 17 points and 12 rebounds.  6-7 Jr. Justin Johnson added 17 points and nine rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Braxton Beverly recorded 16 points.

 

John Hardin 81  Ohio County 52 – 5-11 Jr. Patrick Anderson led John Hardin with 21 points.  6-3 Sr. Daveon Greene added 19 points and 10 rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Preston Lambrich led Ohio County with 11 points.  6-7 Jr. B.J. Morse added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Roger Bacon (OH) 95  Knott County Central 93  (OT) (3rd Place) – This game resulted in a classic as Roger Bacon was led by 6-4 Jr. Carlas Jackson with 36 points including five three point baskets.  6-3 Jr. Austin Frentsos added 24 points including 13 of 17 free throws, eight rebounds, and six assists.  6-0 Jr. Cody Niesen and 6-4 Sr. Erik Edwards chipped in with 12 points each.  6-2 So. Camron Justice set a tournament record tonight and led Knott County Central with an incredible 62 points.  Justice was 19 of 29 from the field including eight of 11 from beyond the arc and 16 of 19 free throws.  Sr. Chance Little added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Henry Clay 69  Lexington Catholic 64 (Championship) – Lexington Catholic led 41-31 at halftime and 50-41 with 2:51 left in the third quarter when Jack Whitman left the game with an injury.  Whitman returned but left again with a possible concussion and was done for the night.  Henry Clay outscored Lexington Catholic 28-14 the rest of the way to earn the victory.  6-1 Jr. Christen Cunningham led a balanced Henry Clay scoring attack with 17 points and nine assists with all his points coming in the second half.  6-4 Jr. Jordan Green added 16 points and 10 rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Teddy Ware chipped in with 14 points including four three point baskets.  6-6 Jr. Trey Grundy recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 20 points and seven rebounds.  6-5 So. Tanner Johnson added 13 points and 11 rebounds.  6-2 So. Jarod Griffin also scored 13 points including eight of eight free throws.  5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare chipped in with 10 points.

Lexington Catholic coach Scott True started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Rachel Blake, 5-8 Sr. Octavia Wilson, 5-9 So. Caroline Lynch, 5-4 Sr. Sara Cawood, and 5-3 So. Bailey Browning.  Powell County coach Ken Jones countered with 5-7 Fr. Destiny Peck, 5-5 Jr. Triston Curtis, 5-8 Jr. Keeley Rogers, 4-10 Jr. Stephanie Knox, and 5-2 Jr. Nikki Wells.

Powell County shot a blistering 61.9% from the field in the first half to lead 31-26 but Lexington Catholic rallied in the second half to earn a 62-45 victory.  Lexington Catholic shot 48.9% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 19 Powell County turnovers.  Powell County shot 40.4% from the field including two of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pirates connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Rachel Blake led Lexington Catholic with 25 points including three three point baskets.  Blake was 11 of 14 from the field including three of four from beyond the arc.  Octavia Wilson added 10 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

Keeley Rogers led Powell County with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Destiny Peck added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Lexington Catholic trailed 21-11 after the first quarter but rallied for a 67-51 victory over Pendleton County.  Lexington Catholic shot 46.2% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 17 Pendleton County turnovers.  Pendleton County  shot 33.3% from the field including eight of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cats connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 21 points including three three point baskets, 11 rebounds, and four steals.  Rachel Blake added 16 points.  5-5 Jr. Suzanne Miller chipped in with nine points.

McKayla Manor led Pendleton County with 14 points including four three point baskets.  Brandi Boden added 13 points including three three point baskets.  6-1 Sr. Heather Jolley recorded eight points and nine rebounds.

Lacey Mitchell, 5-11 Sr. Krista Smithers, 5-1 8th grade Madison Fryman, and 5-1 8th grade Aletha Thomas.

Lafayette raced out to a 28-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-23 victory over Deming.  Lafayette shot 41.9% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 13 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 20 Deming turnovers.  Deming shot 20.6% from the field including zero of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Devils connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored one point off seven Lafayette turnovers.

Ashanti Thomas led Lafayette with 12 points and eight rebounds.  5-6 Jr. Shirlisa Demus added 12 points and six rebounds. Kiara Pankins recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.  Dee Givens also reached double figures with 10 points.

Lacey Mitchell led Deming with 12 points and eight rebounds.  Krista Smithers added eight points.

Lafayette raced out to a 25-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 61-30 victory over Russell.  Lafayette shot 44.4% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on two of four free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 15 Russell turnovers.  Lafayette held a 17-5 advantage in second effort points.  Russell shot 24.4% from the field including three of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Red Devils connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored five points off nine Lafayette turnovers.

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 19 points and six rebounds.  Cooley was nine of 12 from the field and one of one from the free throw line.  Ashanti Thomas added 11 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  5-6 Jr. Ken’yale Demus chipped in with nine points.  Kiara Pankins recorded eight points and six rebounds.

Hope Parsley led Russell with nine points and four rebounds.  Shelby Huddleston added eight points.

Danville raced out to a 23-11 first quarter lead on their way to a 66-54 victory over Sacred Heart Academy.  Danville shot 47.8% from the field including two of six from the three point line.  The Lady Admirals connected on 20 of 26 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 19 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart shot 42.9% from the field including one of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Danville turnovers.

Cameron McPherson led Danville with 24 points and six steals.  Essence Grey added 14 points and seven assists.  Kasey Young recorded 12 points and eight rebounds.

Dai Jia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and five steals.  Ruffin was nine of 10 from the field and six of eight from the free throw line.  Ashley Johnson added 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-10 So. April Gahafer chipped in with eight points.

Dixie Heights 59  Oldham County 45 – 6-3 Jr. Brandon Hatton led Dixie Heights with 25 points including four three point baskets.  Hatton was eight of 11 from the field including four of five from beyond the arc and five of six from the free throw line.  5-10 Sr. Sam Gruber led Oldham County with 14 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Jr. Austin Wills added 12 points.  6-1 Sr. Anthony Lape recorded six points and 10 rebounds.

 

Roger Bacon (OH) 73  Ohio County 68 – 6-4 Jr. Carlas Jackson led Roger Bacon with 19 points and nine assists.  6-3 Jr. Austin Frentsos added 16 points and 6-7 Jr. Fred Moore chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Trevor Lewis led Ohio County with 21 points including five three point baskets.  6-4 Sr. Preston Lambrich added 20 points.  6-4 Sr. Jon Wortham recorded 18 points and seven rebounds.

 

Scott 80  Bourbon County 58 – 6-3 Sr. Nick Jackson led Scott with 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.  5-10 Sr. Eric Pouncy, 6-2 Sr. Tyler Buckner, 6-0 Sr. Josh Felts, and 5-10 Sr. Travis Clary added 12, 12, 11, and 11 points respectively.  6-0 Jr. Charles “Snoop” Johnson led Bourbon County with 17  points including two three point baskets.

William Johnson led Butler with 16 points and eight rebounds.  5-11 Sr. Terry Harbin added 16 points, five assists, and four steals.  5-11 Sr. Rashawn Farrell added 15 points and 6-0 Jr. Kermit Malone chipped in with 10 points.  6-5 Jr. Deion Pierre and 5-10 Sr. Max Diaz led Somerset Academy Prep with eight and seven points respectively.

Damion King chipped in with 12 points.  6-2 Sr. Trevor Tiller led Paintsville with 23 points.  6-1 Sr. Matt Daniels added 18 points including four three point baskets.  6-0 Fr. Luke Trimble added 11 points and 6-3 Fr. Matthew Miller recorded 10 points and nine rebounds.

 

Bishop Brossart 56  Perry County Central 41 – 6-2 Sr. Justin Saunders led Bishop Brossart with 13 points.  6-6 Jr. Drew Burns added 12 points and seven rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Erik Rieger chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds.  6-6 Jr. Alex Trentman pulled down 10 rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Braxton Beverly led Perry County Central with 12 points.  6-7 Jr. Justin Johnson added nine points and six rebounds.  6-7 Sr. Dalton Cornett recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Knott County Central 65  Simon Kenton 47 – 6-2 So. Camron Justice led Knott County Central with 26 points including 11 of 12 free throws and six rebounds.  6-5 So. Evan Hall added 17 points and 10 rebounds and 6-3 So. Chance Cornett chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Andrew Sampson, 6-1 Sr. Riley Barnes, and 6-2 Jr. Taylor Morrison led Simon Kenton with 12, 12, and 10 points respectively.

 

Princeton (OH) 73  Lexington Christian Academy 57 – 6-3 Sr. Darius Hilson led Princeton with 20 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.  5-10 Sr. Deiontay Walters added 17 points.  6-2 Jr. Ryan Bricking recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds and 5-8 Sr. Dorian Jordan chipped in with 12 points and 11 assists.  5-10 Sr. Tyler Harville led LCA with 17 points including four three point baskets.  6-5 So. Whitley County coach Larry Anderson started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Sabrina Sizemore, 5-8 Jr. Maria Johnson, 6-0 Jr. Kandace Craig, 5-4 Sr. Bethany Powers, and 5-7 Jr. Brandi Smith.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Jr. Dai Jia Ruffin, 5-6 Sr. Julia Stough, 5-10 Sr. Caroline Long, 5-3 So. Gretchen Samsel, and 5-4 So. Ashley Johnson.

Sacred Heart led 34-20 in the third quarter but had to survive a Whitley County rally to earn a 47-44 victory.  Sacred Heart shot 45% from the field including two of seven from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Whitley County turnovers.  Sacred Heart was playing short-handed tonight as three of their normal starters Raven Merriweather, Kristin Matula, and Vanessa Baisas were unavailable.  Whitley County shot 34.7% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Colonels connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Sacred Heart turnovers.

Dai Jia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 26 points and 13 rebounds.  Ashley Johnson added 13 points and four assists.

Brandi Smith led Whitley County with 18 points and three steals.  Kandace Craig added eight points and six rebounds.  5-4 So. Hallie Jones chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.
