Rick Bolus Camp Top High School All-Star Game
Topic: Basketball

Rick Bolus’ 38th Annual High Potential Blue Chip Basketball Camp  June 25-29, 2017

Top High School All-Star Game

The Gray Team defeated the Gold Team 80-75 in a game that would not resemble basketball to the true purist of the game. The game rapidly unraveled to a dunk contest with little defense.  However, to be perfectly fair it was not a matter of being selfish as most of the dunk attempts came on players passing up easy shots to set up their teammates for attempts for a spectacular play.  These young men played hard all week and were easily coached and tonight was their chance to break out and just have a good time and engage in some good natured “one upmanship” after a busy week.

6-6 Sr. Paris Taylor Bolivar Central Bolivar TN was named Game MVP for the Gray Team and scored 16 points.  6-5 Sr. Ethan Haynes Boone County Florence KY actually led the team in scoring with 17 points.  Actually Taylor and Haynes could have scored more but they both passed up easy shots to set up each other for dunks.  6-4 So. Anthony O’Neal  Kentucky Country Day Louisville KY added nine points on three three point bombs.  Smooth shooting 6-5 Sr. Aaron Reed Marshall County Benton KY added eight points.  5-10 Sr. Lance-Amir Paul Putnam Science Academy Putnam CT was Game MVP from the Gold Team and scored 23 points including three three point baskets as well as constantly getting to the rim.  6-0 Jr. Cade Cunningham North Hopkins Madisonville KY added 17 points including three three point baskets.

2nd 20 High School All-Star Game

The Gold Team pulled away to defeat the Gray Team by a score of 57-48.  6-4 Jr. Winston Tulloss Sale Creek Sale Creek TN was named Game MVP for the Gold Team and scored 12 points and displayed his athleticism throughout the contest.  6-7 Sr. Jacob Llumbet added 10 points including two three point bombs.  5-7 Sr. Anthony Pollard Smyrna Smyrna TN added nine points.  6-4 Sr. Ethan Robbins Boone County Florence KY chipped in with seven points and was a “windex man” on the glass.  5-10 So. Marquise Parker North Hopkins Madisonville KY was named Game MVP for the Gray Team and led his team with eight points and is a true point guard.  Long range bomber 6-2 Sr. Deven Stone Wolfe County Campton KY also scored eight points including two three point baskets.  6-6 Sr. Sam Perdue Warren East Bowling Green KY chipped in with six points.
