Wayne County vs. North Middle
2013 Kentucky Middle School Football Assoc. Championships 8th Grade D2 Semifinals

Wayne County defeated North Middle by a score of 48-14.  Wayne County recorded 14 first downs and 349 yards of total offense.  They were penalized seven times for 60 yards.  North Middle recorded 10 first downs and 168 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 13 yards and lost two fumbles.

Jacob Wright led Wayne County’s ground attack with 93 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  German Ruiz carried the ball eight times for 88 yards and a touchdown.  Stetson Simpson completed two of six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns.  German Ruiz caught a 75 yard touchdown pass.  Brett Massengale caught a 45 yard touchdown pass.  Clay Shelton led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Jacob Wright added five solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 22 yards and recovered a fumble.  Dalton Julius recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.

Tyler Reinheimer led North Middle’s ground game with 146 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.  Eric Moore completed four of 12 passes for 35 yards.  Marcus Dixon caught two passes for 13 yards.  Tyler Reinheimer caught one pass for 24 yards.  Dominic Hope led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Christopher Owen added two solo and two assisted tackles.

Lexington Christian Academy defeated New Harlan by a score of 14-6.  LCA recorded five first downs and 271 yards of total offense.  LCA tan 21 plays on offense compared to 55 for New Harlan but averaged 12.9 yards per play and had scoring plays of 89 and 74 yards.  They were penalized three times for 20 yards and lost two fumbles.  New Harlan recorded 16 first downs and 189 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 30 yards and lost a fumble.

Drayden Burton led LCA’s ground game with 98 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Brayden Miller completed five of eight passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.  Ryan Stucky caught two passes for 45 yards.  JC Diehl added two receptions for 37 yards.  Drayden Burton caught a 74 yards touchdown pass.  Drayden Burton led the defense with 10 solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Dillon Wheatley added nine solo and two assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 19 yards.  Caelan Lebryk recorded six solo and one assisted tackles.

Paul Stapleton led New Harlan’s ground game with 114 yards on 30 carries.  Caleb Carmical added 48 yards on nine carries.  Jacob Branson completed one of six passes for 12 yards.  Colby King caught one pass for 12 yards.  Christian Hall led the defense with two solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss and recovered a fumble.  Jacob Branson added two solo and one assisted tackles.  Jon Smith recorded two tackles and recovered a fumble.

Edmonson County defeated Campbellsville by a score of 14-12.  Edmonson County recorded six first downs and 131 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 15 yards and lost a fumble.  Campbellsville recorded eight first downs and 124 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 48 yards and lost two fumbles.

Zack Farmer led Edmonson County’s ground game with 99 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Tucker Cole completed two of three passes for four yards.  Zack Farmer caught one pass for four yards.  Zack Farmer led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Isaac Schultz added two solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 12 yard loss.  Calen Vincent also recorded two solo and four assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.

Desean VanCleve led Campbellsville’s ground game with 97 yards on 17 carries.  Vonte Cubit completed one of four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Tyrion Taylor caught one pass for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Vonte Cubit also scored on a 76 yard punt return.  Desean VanCleve led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.  T. Johnson added four solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards and also recovered a fumble.  Vonte Cubit also recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.

Corbin held Elkhorn to -3 yards net rushing on their way to a 22-0 victory.  Corbin recorded 19 first downs and 342 yards of total offense.  They were penalized 12 times for 80 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Elkhorn recorded three first downs and 74 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 36 yards.

Cameron Maguet led Corbin’s ground game with 150 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.  Grant Gibson carried the ball seven times for 38 yards.  Noah Taylor completed five of seven passes for 107 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Jordan Fox caught two passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.  Cameron Maguet added two receptions for 39 yards.  Chase Estep led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a nine yard loss.  Grant Gibson added one solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.

Kyere Walker led Elkhorn’s ground game with seven yards on four carries.  Juanya Frank completed five of 10 passes for 77 yards.  DaJuan Davis caught three passes for 65 yards.  DaJuan Davis led the defense with five solo and seven assisted tackles and intercepted a pass that he returned nine yards.  Christian Goins added three solo and seven assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Bowling Green exploded for 22 unanswered points in the second quarter on their way to a 38-6 victory over Glasgow.  Bowling green’s ground game rolled up 254 yards on 22 carries for an 11.5 yard per carry average.  The defense held Glasgow to 93 total yards for a 3.1 yard average per play.  Bowling green recorded 11 first downs and 275 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 49 yards and lost a fumble.  Glasgow recorded seven first downs and 93 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 39 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Jaron Burr led Bowling Green’s ground attack with 137 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.  Demetrion Neal carried the ball three times for 63 yards and a touchdown.  Vito Tisdale carried the ball five times for 50 yards.  Beau Buchanan completed his only pass for 21 yards and a touchdown.  Jaron Burr caught a 21 yard touchdown pass.  Harris Tomblinson led the defense with two solo and four assisted tackles.  Jaron Burr added one solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 29 yards.  Jamil Smith recorded two solo and one assisted tackles.

Mercer County 27  Paul Laurence Dunbar 20 Chris Crawley-Goodman carried the ball 22 times for 118 yards and a touchdown and completed five of 11 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns to lead the victors.

Collins improves to 8-2 with a 49-10 victory over Anderson County who falls to 8-2 for the season.  Collins recorded 20 first downs and 539 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 65 yards.  Anderson County recorded 19 first downs and 352 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized once for five yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Lawson Page led Collins’ ground game with 64 yards on 12 carries.  Ryan Watkins added 59 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Masai Whyte carried the ball three times for 22 yards and two touchdowns.  Lawson Page completed 17 of 28 passes for 382 yards and four touchdowns.  Nathan Sames caught five passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.  Deandre Farris added four receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.  Landon Forrest caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.  Gabe Nash led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Zach Wilson added five solo tackles.

Brayden Russell led Anderson County’s ground game with 49 yards on seven carries.  Tristin Ashburn carried the ball six times for 42 yards.  Zach Carmichael added 42 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Zach Carmichael completed nine of 16 passes for 131 yards with one interception.  Brayden Russell completed four of 10 passes for 59 yards.  Chris Toomey caught four passes for 46 yards.  Brayden Russell added three receptions for 70 yards.  C. Sutherland caught two passes for 46 yards.  Blake Trimble led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  C. Sutherland added two solo and five assisted tackles.  Landon Searcy recorded two solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss.

Mercer County defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 27-20.  Mercer County recorded 11 first downs and 301 yards of total offense.  The Titans were penalized five times for 45 yards and lost four fumbles.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 11 first downs and 279 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized 11 times for 55 yards and lost a fumble.

Chris Crawley-Goodman led Mercer County’s ground game with 118 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  Chris Crawley-Goodman completed five of 11 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns.  Layne Peavler caught four passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns.  Braxton Bradshaw led the defense with four solo and nine assisted tackles.  Grayson Blevins added five solo and four assisted tackles.  Chris Crawley-Goodman recorded six solo and two assisted tackles.

AJ Williams led Dunbar’s ground game with 86 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Emory Thompson carried the ball 11 times for 64 yards and two touchdowns.  Cam Pergram carried the ball 12 times for 57 yards.  Emory Thompson completed two of seven passes for 27 yards.  AJ Williams caught two passes for 27 yards.  Nick Martin led the defense with one solo and seven assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards and recovered two fumbles.  Derante Sanders added five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Jmaurion Dunn recorded three solo and four assisted tackles.

Ballard trailed 34-21 midway through the final quarter but rallied to earn a 35-34 victory.  Bryan Station took a 34-21 lead with 5:55 left in the game on a 10 yard run by Ora Johnson but Anthony Lopez’s conversion kick was blocked.  Ballard cut the margin to 34-28 on a one yard run by Bennie Berry and the conversion kick by Rijad Kovacevic.  De Shawn Doss intercepted a Ora Johnson pass on the Ballard 22 and returned it to the Bryan Station 45.  Rex Wallace threw a 29 yard touchdown pass to Will Bush and Rijad Kovacevic kicked the extra point to make the score 35-34 with 44 seconds remaining on the clock.  Bryan Station had one last chance but Anthony Lopez’s 40 yard field goal attempt missed as time expired.

Ballard recorded 22 first downs and 347 yards of total offense.  The Bruins were penalized six times for 51 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Bryan Station recorded 22 first downs and 501 yards.  The Defenders were penalized eight times for 67 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Bennie Berry led Ballard’s ground game with 111 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries.  Rex Wallace completed 12 of 24 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Will Bush caught four passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns.  Rollin Green added three receptions for 80 yards.  De Shawn Doss caught three passes for 35 yards.  Derek Strasser led the defense with seven solo tackles.  Evin Gandy added six solo and one assisted tackles.

Ora Johnson led Bryan Station’s ground attack with 45 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.  K-CI Carmichael carried the ball seven times for 41 yards.  Ora Johnson completed 25 of 47 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Tequan Claitt caught 16 passes for 189 yards and one touchdown.  CJ Walker Jr. added five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown.  K-CI Carmichael caught two passes for 120 yards and a touchdown.  Jam. Robertson led the defense with 11 solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Shane Preston and Jesse Tudor added four solo and one assisted tackles and Tudor intercepted a pass that he returned 81 yards.

Scott County led 28-20 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to defeat Seneca 56-20 and improve to 10-0 for the season.  Scott County recorded 20 first downs and 366 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 55 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Seneca recorded nine first downs and 210 yards of total offense.  They were penalized nine times for 56 yards.

Kevin Claussen led Scott County’s ground game with 126 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.  Theo Price carried the ball 12 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns.  Keith Guy added 40 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.  Clay McKee completed four of six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Grayson Miller caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Scott Daniel returned a kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown.  Grayson Miller led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  J. McKeethan added six solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Thomas Daniel recorded four solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Palmer Ward was eight of eight on conversion kicks, punted once for 39 yards and kicked off nine times with eight touchbacks.

Tylan Harbin led Seneca’s ground game with 36 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Tylan Harbin completed 10 of 18 passes for 150 yards.  Avery Stepp caught three passes  for 120 yards.  Jordon Johnson led the defense with nine solo and five assisted tackles.  Aldwin Jackson intercepted a pass that he returned 100 yards for a touchdown.
