Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Colton Helton, 6-1 Jr. Barrett Goodwin, 6-4 Sr. Jackson Stephan, 5-10 Jr. Richard Goatley, and 6-0 Jr. Isaiah Brown. Tates creek coach Keaton Belcher countered with 6-3 Jr. Tom Haubenreich, 6-2 Sr. Stephen Franklin, 6-3 So. DJ Searight, 5-11 So. AJ Slaughter, and 6-0 Sr. Brady Manning.
Henry Clay led 22-13 after the first quarter on their way to an 85-69 victory over Tates Creek. Henry Clay shot 53.2% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 35.5% from the field including 12 of 35 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 28 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Henry Clay turnovers.
Jackson Stephan had a monster game tonight and led Henry Clay with 34 points including five of six free throws, 18 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots. 6-3 Sr. Jack Hemenway added 11 points, two rebounds, and four assists. Colton Helton recorded nine points on three three point baskets, and eight rebounds. 5-11 Jr. Chaii Paris chipped in with eight points and four rebounds. Richard Goatley added eight points, two rebounds, and four steals. Barrett Goodwin recorded seven points.
Stephen Franklin led Tates Creek with 27 points including three three point baskets, six of nine free throws, two rebounds, and three assists. Brady Manning added 12 points including three three point baskets and two steals. Tom Haubenreich recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. DJ Searight added eight points including two three point baskets.
