Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Tyler Doyle, 6-5 Sr. Hudson Sparks, 7-1 Sr. Reece Potter, 6-0 Jr. John Reinhart, and 6-3 Jr. Brody Turner. Frederick Douglass coach Wes Scarberry countered with 6-3 So. Armelo Boone, 6-2 So. Logan Busson, 6-3 So. Aveion Chenault, 6-1 Sr. Tylon Webb, and 6-2 Sr. Kai Simpson.

Lexington Catholic led by eight in the third quarter but Frederick Douglass rallied and Armelo Boone hit a three point basket with 13.3 seconds remaining to give the Broncos what proved to be the winning basket in a 43-41 victory. Lexington Catholic had one last chance but could not get a clear shot at the baskets and turned the ball over on a jump ball in the final second. Frederick Douglass shot 35.4% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 40.5% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off six Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Armelo Boone led Frederick Douglass with 14 points including two three point baskets, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Kai Simpson added 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Aveion Chenault recorded nine points, four rebounds, and two assists. Tylon Webb chipped in with six points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Reece Potter led Lexington Catholic with 19 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots. Tyler Doyle added six points and four assists. John Reinhart chipped in with five points and Hudson Sparks pulled down seven rebounds. 6-4 Jr. Rowan Williams recorded four points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
