Frederick Douglass coach Wes Scarberry started the following lineup:6-1 Sr. Jake Mitchell, 5-11 Sr. Jack Ngog, 6-3 Sr. Ryan Carter, 6-2 Sr. Kai Simpson, and 6-3 So. Armelo Boone. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr, Hudson Sparks, 6-3 Jr. Brody Turner, 7-1 Sr. Reece Potter, 6-0 Jr. John Reinhart, and 6-5 Jr. Tyler Doyle.
Lexington Catholic defeated Frederick Douglass by the score of 71-59. Lexington Catholic shot 56.3% from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line. The Knights connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored seven points off six Frederick Douglass turnovers. Frederick Douglass shot 35.3% from the field including 13 of 32 from beyond the arc. The Broncos connected on 18 of 27 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Reece Potter led Lexington Catholic with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Hudson Sparks added 16 points including three three point baskets and 10 rebounds. John Reinhart recorded 11 points and four rebounds.
Kai Simpson led Frederick Douglass with 26 points including three three point baskets, five of six free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Armelo Boone added 22 points including seven of nine free throws and four steals.
