Paris coach Terence Brooks started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Jamaal Washington, 5-9 Jr. Jawan Dumphord, 6-2 Jr. Koebe Garrard, 5-6 Fr. Marcus Ashford, and 5-8 Jr. James Clark. Sayre coach Rob Goodman countered with 6-3 So. Jake Duby, 6-2 Jr. Jack Henderson, 6-7 Sr. Quinn Pergande, 5-10 Sr. Spencer Sabharwal, and 6-2 Sr. Alex Webb.
Paris defeated Sayre by a score of 55-50 to capture a hard fought victory. Paris shot 35.3% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line. The Greyhounds connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 15 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 51.4% from the field including two of five from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on 12 of 23 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven Paris turnovers.
6-2 So. Jekobi Wells led Paris with 14 points and six rebounds. Jamaal Washington added 14 points and five rebounds. James Clark chipped in with 10 points. Marcus Ashford recorded seven points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
Jake Duby led Sayre with 24 points. Quinn Pergande added 18 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots.
