Wayne County coach Rodney Woods started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Peyton Woods, 6-4 Fr. Jackson Baker, 6-6 Jr. Nick Gillespie, 6-0 Jr. Trey Blevins, and 6-2 Jr. Corey Stearns. Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Sr. Isaiah Johnson, 6-1 Sr. Clarien Washington, 6-2 Sr. Hines Jones, 5-10 Sr. Jamel Banks, and 5-10 Fr. Cooper Robb.
Scott County missed a mid-range field goal attempt in the closing seconds to allow Wayne County to hang on for a 68-67 victory. There were five lead changes and two ties in this game. Wayne County shot 37.1% from the field including nine of 29 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 43.1% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Wayne County turnovers.
Trey Blevins led Wayne County with 24 points including six three point baskets and five assists. Twenty-one of Blevins points came in the second half. Corey Stearns added 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Peyton Woods chipped in with 13 points. Jackson Baker and Nick Gillespie pulled down 12 and 11 rebounds respectively.
Isaiah Johnson led Scott County with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Hines Jones added 12 points and five rebounds. Jamel Banks chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds. 6-1 Jr. Tay Guyn recorded 10 points and five rebounds.
