Sayre vs. Nicholas County (Girls)

Sayre coach Scotty Sutton started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Isabel Pergande, 5-6 Fr. Dee Dee Wheeler, 6-3 Sr. Gabby Bowie, 5-4 So. Ellie Alford, and 5-4 Sr. Meg Croney-Clark.  Nicholas County coach Greg Letcher countered with 5-9 So. Autumn Martin, 5-5 So. Grace Kiskadan, 5-11 So. Allison Howard, 5-5 So. Hannah Jolly, and 5-5 Sr. Megan Bretz.

Nicholas County pulled away in the second half to defeat Sayre by a score of 46-39.  The score was tied four times and there were two lead changes in this game.  Nicholas County shot 36.8% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Jackets connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 33.3% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on 11 of 21 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Nicholas County turnovers.

Megan Bretz led Nicholas County with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Grace Kiskaden added 12 points on four three point baskets.

Gabby Bowie led Sayre with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Ellie Alford added 11 points, four rebounds, and four steals.  Dee Dee Wheeler recorded nine points on three three point baskets.
