Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup:  6-5 Sr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Sr. Reese Ryan, 6-5 Sr. Walker Boothe, 5-10 Sr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Sr. Jarod Griffin.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-4 Jr. Darius Williams, 6-3 Jr. Justin Kelley, 6-5 So. Dontell Brown, 6-0 Jr. Jordan Lewis, and 6-2 So. Taveion Hollingsworth.

Lexington Catholic defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 67-59.  Lexington Catholic led 22-10 after the first quarter but there were six lead changes and four ties in this game.  Lexington Catholic held a 31-19 advantage in free throw points to offset Dunbar’s 26-6 advantage in second chance points.

Lexington Catholic shot 39% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 31 of 36 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 38% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Michael Talbott led Lexington Catholic with 21 points including nine of 10 free throws and five rebounds.  Jarod Griffin added 19 points including 11 of 12 free throws.  Tanner Johnson recorded 15 points and 6-4 Jr. Joseph Ogbogu pulled down seven rebounds.

Taveion Hollingsworth led Dunbar with 21 points including 13 of 18 free throws.  Darius Williams added 16 points and six rebounds.  Dontell Brown recorded eight points, nine rebounds, and three steals.
