Butler coach Larry Just started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Allison Just, 5-9 So. Jaelynn Penn, 5-11 Sr. Miah Casey, 5-4 8th Grade Ashlee Harris, and 5-5 So. Bre Torrens. Mercy Academy Keith Baisch countered with 5-9 Sr. Mackenzie Stovall, 5-7 Sr. Hannah Bewley, 6-0 Sr. Malerie Martin, 5-3 Jr. Jessica Laemmle, and 5-4 Jr. Madi Woods.
Mercy Academy defeated Butler by a score of 56-53. Marcy shot 37.5% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 25 Butler turnovers. Butler shot 45.2% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc. The Bearettes connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Mercy turnovers.
Malerie Martin led Mercy Academy with 15 points including four three point baskets. Hannah Bewley added 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Mackenzie Stovall chipped in with eight points.
5-8 So. Janna Lewis led Butler with 11 points. 5-8 So. Tasia Jefferies added 10 points. Micciah Bowden recorded eight points and seven rebounds.
